Default Weight has stalled...help!

Hi All
After falling off the wagon, I have clambered back on again.
Been two months on the program, lost around 8.8 kilos.
Am doing everything that I am supposed to...but finding it hard to cross the 10 kilo mark so that I can enter the 80s'
Have been a lurker on this forum, but looking at Baloo's 37 weight loss and the Before and After photos...I am motivated all over again.
So any tips or do I just have to be patient?
TIA
Dipy

hi there,

you just have to be patient and stick to the program 100%. Your weight loss will go in cycles so if the scales aren't showing a loss don't be concerned. Just know that your body is doing what it is supposed to do.

I think that's 27kg weight loss, not 37

Just keep it at. I have some daily charts that you can click to on my diary (or click on the start date in my signature just below) that can show some slow periods of weight loss, especially around the 20Kg mark. It was frustrating and it shows why the cohens people tell you to weigh once a month.

The other thing I noticed is that when the scales seemed stuck, I was losing cm's at a large rate. Very strange phenomenon but one that many people on Cohen's experience. At the end of the day, we have the tools here to lose weigh. re-read your programme and re-commit. The kgs will start shedding again soon.

Thanks all,
I am weighing myself neurotically every morning but measuring myself in inches hardly at all!
Thanks Baloo for the charts tip, they look impressively organised...I have no such talent myself.
Okay, folks will keep at it

Default Slow Loss

Hi every one.

Well i am not impressed i have only lost .8 after 12 days of trying really hard and not even having cheese. I cant believe it but i do have a funny tummy so maybe that is something to do with it.

I thought that if i lose a kilo a week i will be at my goal in no time but i am grateful that i have lost 7 in 8 weeks that is fantastic for me as nothing else has done that. But very disappointing this morning. They say it goes in 4 week cycles of losing weight but that was not very good.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHH

Maybe i should go back to cheese.

HI Annie

Urgh this must be so frustrating for you! Doing everything right and seeing smaller results than you had anticipated....

I have 2 questions for you...

1: Have you spoken to your consultant about this?
2) What are you doing with your water intake? Have you played with it to see if it makes a difference?

Hi Debs

I am not going to a consultant i got my plan two years ago so just doing it myself. I have at least 2 litres of water a day sometimes more but never less. I have lost the 7 kilos by drinking the same amount of water so i am not sure. Only difference is i did not have cheese this week i had chicken and salad and then steak and salad for tea.

Not sure what is going on.

Duhhhh... I should know that about your consultant! Sorry!!!

Has your level of activity changed from when you originally got your plan..? WEre you more active then?

Are your cms dropping?

Sorry, just trying to see if anything will help...

If you get desperate... I could saw off a limb for you..... Which one do you use least?

*LOL*

Hi Anniem,

I seem to remember Milo and Ravioli are not in my Cohens Program so maybe this could be why.

You will need to back track and see what your menu and pickings have been like to fully understand why.

Hi Debs and Melissa

You are funny Debs yes you can have my bum and the top of my legs that would be great. I had not had mayo on anything but while having he chicken salad i have had it every day and i have been putting spices on the meat maybe too much. I wont have any any more the less the better.

Oooops Melissa milo and rav oh yes maybe that was it but i did slip up before and have tortalinis but it did not do much damage. But yes i will not have another spoon of milo or rav at al. I made chicken and pasta bake for every one else tonight and i am going to have my mozarella on salada with tomato all melted together.

I must say today i nearly thought what the heck have something after all that effort and it n ot working but i did not DONT WORRY but my pants are looser than when i started and i must say that 7 kg is great but i was so hoping i would have seen a 50 something but you know what i did not feel skinnier. I have a sore tummy maybe that has something to do with it.

Well after todays weigh in i have decided to weigh every Sunday from now.

I did not change my ticker beause it was not worth it today i will weight until it is. Just hope that it works. I really was uspet and hardly any sleep and i think that effects your body too.

Well i only have internet at work at the moment so i cant wait to come in monday and see the replies i love looking at them. I am moving soon so i will get it at home when i do. I just called in to the library to use theres cause i really wanted to see if any one had any clues.

Well you guys have a fantastic week end and i hope my next weigh in brings better news.

Love Anniem

If you're using a plan from 2 years ago, I don't think that's such a good idea, as your blood values might have change significantly. Also, if you're not seeing a consultant, how are you gonna do re-feed? From what I gather from the Forum, those people who slipped or didn't complete refeed have put on all the weight again plus some more. Don't want to sound like a nanny, but I think the reason why Cohen works is that it's based on your body chemical composition and the programs are good for about 6 months.

I find because the food I eat is much cheaper than normal, I'll have recouped my money anyway, so I reckon it's worth paying. Why don't you call the clinicyou had your orignal plan from and see if they can somehow accommodate you?

Katrin

I seem to remember that Anniem has already got her refeed (appologies in advance if this is not the case) and I think it was Baloo who was told by Cohens that if we do put weight on we can redo the program using the one we have .

I am also using my same plan from 2 years ago. I emailed my consultant asking for a new plan before I started on the 11th July and she suggested that I try my old plan first. So far it is working. Nel

From what I read from others as long as your meds haven't changed from 2 yrs. ago the plan shouldn't either. If you look at the great job asy did her plan never changed from the start to finish. Plus Cohen will tell you that if you gain weight go right back on plan and you will lose it again.

Hi Annie,

I have been curious watching your frustrations with slow weight loss. I eat the cheese and mayo regulary. I dont drink any more than 2 litres of water.
The only thing I'm strict on is not deviating.I know you say that the deviations havn't made any difference but maybe they havnt made you put on weight but maybe
they do affect the amount of weight you lose by the end of the week.I know it is extremly hard not to deviate from the foods your allowed to eat but I know
that if you dont , the weight WILL keep coming off.
Have a good week Annie.

Hi every one,

Yes that is right i already got given my refeed last time and they did say i can use the program again. It has worked better for me up until now that last time. But yes this week it will be 100 percent on my sheet every single day otherwise i may ring them and go and show them what i have had every day and see if they can see anything.

I have been having 2 oranges all week i will go back to having an apple and an orange and more walks with my dogs.

AHHH always something but i am determined to get there and keep trying.

Annie

Hi Anniem,

Did you have a good weekend. I am sure that you will be able to keep track of your food intake if you do document it and be honest with yourself. We all have the odd occasion where we nearly taste this or swig that but you are the only one who has to be accountable to you so by keeping a food diary for a while allows you to keep an eye on what happens along with what maybe holding the weight on.

Good luck.

Melissa

Default Plateau's

OK I have hit my first plateau - in the early part of my second week after absolutely ZERO deviations (I'm very proud of myself).

The scales have not moved in 3 days. Irrespective of MBMs or not.

What did you guys find? How long did these plateau's last? Am I an obsessive over analysist :P (OK but I am an engineer)

How often do you find this happens? 4 week cycle?

Maybe I can fit a mathematical function to it. I've thought that since the amount of weight you loose decreases as you approach goal (and the more you have to loose, the more you loose intially), there must be some sort of curve to fit the loss, modified by the 4 week variation...... (sheesh - you know my major was applied maths - I think I'm going a bit silly tonight)
