How do you weigh yourself?
Hi everyone I have just completed my first week and I'm loving the results 3.5kg gone and I can already see and feel a difference!
I was just wondering I was weighed at cohens last Tuesday and of course that was done with clothes on and I was told to weigh again at home on my scales on my start date. I decided to weigh myself without clothes and first thing in the morning so as to get a true reading each week (I have decided to weigh weekly ~ I can't wait the month) this is the weight I have recorded and this is about a KG lighter then what I measured at the clinic. So my question was how does everyone else weigh themselves at home ~ with or without clothes and is this the weight they record on there diary's? Silly question I know but I was just keen to hear if I was doing the right thing? Thanks Jen |

Re: How do you weigh yourself?
Hi Jen
I don't think any question is a silly question, and I don't know the answer but can only tell you what I do. I weigh with clothes on, because it's not the actual weight I am concerned about but the change in weight over time. Also, I have found that my weight seems to vary a little depending on which scale I use! The time of day seems to make a difference as well. So now I just weigh myself first thing in the morning on my scales at home and compare that weight with previous measurements taken in the same way, at the same time, on the same scale. This might create some problems when it comes to refeed, since the weights have to be very precise for that. But I was thinking maybe I would take my scales along with me to the clinic and ensure that the readings match the ones on the scale there. Hope I haven't just confused you more! |

Re: How do you weigh yourself?
I only did the first weigh-in in the cohen office on the day I decided to pay for the program. I started Cohen one week after that visit. I weigh myself at home on the 1st day and since then, all my weigh-in were done at home. I was 3kg heavier when I weigh-in in cohen office because I was wearing jeans etc...
I do my weigh-in at home with clothes too but my at-home clothes are light (just basic tees and shorts etc). They don't weigh much, maybe 500g max. My starting weight in my ticker was the weight on my 1st day on Cohen (at home weigh-in). Therefore I don't have much problem wondering if my clothes are heavy or not.

Re: How do you weigh yourself?
I am a distance customer so i have never had a weigh in at the clinic! On the first morning of cohens, i weighed without clothes so i do the same every week on the same scales, making sure i get an accurate reading

Re: How do you weigh yourself?
Hello
I choose to weigh myself first thing in the morning after emptying my bladder at the same time and on the same scales. I did find that different scales differ slightly. When I weighed myself at cohens at the very begining the difference on my scales and their scales was about 1.5kg and it was like that the whole way through so I was guessing it was the clothes and also the water I had drank. |

Re: How do you weigh yourself?
Thanks everyone for your replies, I was just speaking to my clinic, so I asked her and she said that was fine and she has now changed my start weight to the one I took at home as I didn't think I would be going in there to weigh.
I can't believe how well this first week has gone for me 3.5kg and 16.8 to go! |

Re: How do you weigh yourself?
I also empty my bladder first thing in the morning then weigh in my birthday suit. As your body is getting smaller, so are your clothes therefore you can't wear the same things every time you weigh in. I use the same scales and weigh in the same place each time. I feel this gives me a more accurate weight.

Re: How do you weigh yourself?
i pee first and poo if i can take off all my clothes, exhale as much as i can. get on the scale get off the scale repeat.(about 5 times) same place, same scales. If I am lucky to expel some solid waste after coffee time, I repeat the whole process.
