Unreadable tickers - help please, anyone....
Hi all,
Now and then, people end up with tickers that are close to "unreadable" - like this one :- http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=364150#post364150 (Of course, this sample may well change once a fix is applied.... ) The symptom appears to be White, or very pale, numbers making the ticker data very hard to read. I have vague recollections of some input from SMS in the past. I don't recall if it resulted in a fix, or not. If anyone can say how they were able to fix their ticker, please post a Reply to help out other members. I can't help, as I have never had a ticker.... Thanks, Koh

Re: Unreadable tickers - help please, anyone....
Got this from Collie, just go back into tickersite and change your background to dark.
(Edited - above sounds like a typo - see next post - Koh ) Cut and paste HRL (or whatever it is) again as you did the first time to get your ticker. Viola!!! or changed. Hope that makes sense. Last edited by Kohinoor; 14-06-2012 at 11:44. |

Re: Unreadable tickers - help please, anyone....
Here's the link to Collie's post. Seems it has worked nicely :-
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=364164#post364164 She includes all the steps (I think, but then I wouldn't know for sure, 'cos I don't use a ticker...) including having to re-post the Ticker data into your signature on completion. In essence, this all has to do with selecting "dark Background". Doing that is useful where a website uses a black, dark blue, or brown background colour (some do, but we don't). See, if you had black writing on a black background, you would see no writing. So, the Ticker Factory allows you to choose a Ticker with light colours, so they show up on a Dark Background. At Newyou, we have a LIGHT background, so white (or light coloured) numbers are close to unreadable. Like this - white would look OK on a dark background, but not on a light background.... Choosing "Dark Background" DOESN'T suit this website. That seems to be it in a nutshell. Onya Collie Koh

Re: Unreadable tickers - help please, anyone....
Thanks everyone - especially Collie - finally resolved the issue by removing the old ticker completely and starting again. But yes it was due to selecting the dark background which, as Koh has pointed out, does not work.
Thanks again !! |
