2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
Hi all - after a great 1st week of losing 3 kgs, I have not lost anything since Monday (so the last 4 days of week 2 - nada! Im not officially panicking YET BUT very close. I really did not anticipate NOT losing in my 2nd week, maybe week 3 or 4.
Im not demotivated - I was just excited to see the scale move this week for I gathered that week one you lose the "water weight" and NOW im suppose (in my mind) to start losing the FAT. But looks like it does not wanna budge - any one else had similar experience or any advice????? Feeling a bit like I don't know what im doing .... |

Hi Pearce
I would strongly suggest going through and scrutinizing everything your having with your meals. Spices, even down to the vitamins you are taking. Re read you plan, make sure you haven't missed the fine details of the plan. It does happen and the weight loss will stall. Minute traces of lactose in a vitamin pill can do it for me . |

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
Im doing an old plan, but I firmly believe that it will still work for how can healthy food in the cohens quantities NOT work.
I only take cod liver oil tablets in the the morning and only 1 sofar (half of what I should be taking) Only thing that I can think of is that I eat mango every day as one of my fruits (100g) and yoghurt most mornings and I bought another make of mozzarella cheese last weekend - so thinking maybe its the cheese? (Ive been having it about 3 days in a row since the weekend) Will have to see what happens the next 3 days till Monday coming - will cut out the cheese and rather have egg for breakfast. Water is no problem, im getting all in for each day. Was also a bit "blocked up" the last 2 days. Will re-read plan again and just double check - I am not a fan of dairy, but the yoghurt is just very convenient some mornings. |

Some people are affected greatly by cheese, I'd cut it out for a week and see what happens

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
Seems like cutting the cheese out and re-reading my plan just to make sure will be my plan of action. I know my body LOVE this fat on it, but hell no - not in 2nd week already - need to just focus and get through this and BELIEVE. I simply cannot accept that cohens will not work for me - just too many people reaching success in this plan. Bottom line is you don't have to lose fast...you just have to lose at a constant pace.
I am taking my measurements on Sunday at the end of my first 2 weeks. Made mistake of not taking them when I started, but can definitely feel that my body is a bit more "composed". I will need this cm readings to keep me going when I plateau - until I can figure out how my body responds week by week over the next couple of months. |

Hi there.
Im the same. weight loss is slower then other people but I am persisting. I think back to what I used to eat to what im eating now, something has to give, I know Cohens will work for me again.. if not I will fork out for a brand new program. Jackie |

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
Hi Peace,
I first started on Cohens back in 2004 but have put it all back on so after many tries I have finally got back on the horse so to speak and give it another go. I have been on this old program for just over 5 weeks with 1 deviation due to being my birthday but I knew I would deviate on this day and i have accepted it. Im seriously thinking on getting a new program in March tho. Jackie : ) |

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
^^^^ What they said.
Also, depending on how old your plan is, it may say that you can eat plain fat free or low fat yogurt. Our plans (South Africa) have been 'streamlined' and 'finetuned' and it now only allows for plain fat free yogurt - no flavours, not even vanilla. |

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
Not2Much, my plan says plain yoghurt fat free - though sometimes I can only get low fat, but will make sure fat free on none. My plan is 4 years old - had it done after my last baby was born , she was about 5 month old. Lost 12 kgs in 6 weeks then, but like I said, as long as it just works at a steady pace. Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
My plan is 3 years old, and I also believe that it just keeps working - for me anyway. I know for some their old plans haven't been working, but mine works great...
Do try something to help the BM's (Agiolax, suppositories, etc.). My hubby 'goes' at least three times a day on a normal day (he should be a stick insect), and really suffers on Cohens with the limited BM's, so we have learned to take matters into our own hands. I have noted that the older programs suggest that you take 2 teaspoons Digestive Bran daily, and 2 X Senokots on the 4th day. I don't think the Digestive Bran is on the shelves anymore, but has been replaced by Physilium Husks (that takes a different type of talent to consume). Good luck - you've got some ideas to work with now. |

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
I take magnesium forte capsules (Wagner Brand) and that is an excellent BM solution.
Be very careful on the yoghurt. FAT FREE, PLAIN, NO VANILLA FLAVOURED. Check out your supplements. Vary your fruit. Rotate your meals. STAY AWAY FROM CHEESE FOR 10 DAYS. Try a nice juicy steak for lunch - this works wonders for me. Good luck. Keep calm and Cohen on! Last edited by EEEE; 31-01-2015 at 00:40. |

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
EEE - great minds think alike - I prept a steak with mushrooms for lunch today - I did not have any meat since I started 11 days ago - mainly chicken, so thought last night that maybe some meat will help to shake things up.
Im gonna try all your suggetions today and the weekend and see what my official 2 week weight in on Monday morning says then. Will keep all posted. Thx you guys! |

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
Good luck.. I have a good feeling about eggs and red meat as the proteins that work for me.
Look forward to hearing of success.

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
Ok - so no loss for me in 2nd week. Couple of girls have helped me get through this this morning - THANKS A MILLION TO YOU GUYS. Im already focused on week 3 & 4. Gonna make a few adjustments , I still believe this plan will work and greatful for the 3 kgs I've lost sofar. Will come to terms with fact that I will most probably be a slower loser - which is fine - Im loving myself and giving myself the time my body needs, still pushing it, but still loving it - if it makes sense. Im just to determined to let one bad week (which I know there will be more of) set me back or derail me. I think my bodies re-shaping and trying to hold on to the old fat, but it eventually has to let go. Again I was reminded that weightloss works in cycles - not in weeks - so it is very important not to get upset or discouraged until you have looked at a 4 week cycle. So here we go for the next 2 weeks.....

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
Hi Peace,
Dairy products in general are foods I don't eat a lot of because they make me put on weight. 3 days a week is the most you should be having cheese though. Good luck for becoming OCD with your plan. |

Re: 2nd Week - not losing - is this possible?
Hi
I find I loose much better on 3+. My guidelines say 2 -2.5 but I feel very tired and dehydrated on anything less than three. Might be different for others and you, but just sharing what seems to work for me. |
