I'm scared
I have lost lots of weight on other programmes and put it back on. I am now 60-70 kg over and feel awful. I am ashamed of myself and embaressed to be out in public. food is my consolation and comfort. I hate myself though and my self esteem is always consistently low. I am a mother of 2 kids and can't do anything physical with them and I am afraid as to what other health issues I am sitting on....climbing stairs is a problem and walking any distance is tiring. I would love to be different but am scared to try again because of the what if I fail thing. Can anyone relate?? and help? I am considering Cohen's but need to hear from you who are on it ... Shuki |

Re: I'm scared
I think feeling scared is a very normal thing...
Change is like that but if we dont try then we have given up on ourselves... I suggest you read some diaries - give you a good insight and whats better Cohens is so rapid and hunger free... Goodluck in your decision... Your on a winner with Cohens

Re: I'm scared
I think I would have to say it is the best program I have ever done. The hardest in terms of eating out etc but works fantastically and you feel like you have won lotto the amount of energy you have. I would say do it!

Re: I'm scared
Definitely the best diet I've been on (or should say "healthy eating program") and let me tell you, I've tried a few.
The scariest part for me was being told I had to more than halve the weight that I have been sitting on for the last who knows how many years. I understand perfectly the feeling you described - and so do many others on here. Thats what this forum is all about - support from others who are or have been in the same place. My advice? go for it. You won't believe how quickly you'll have more energy. I even found myself running up the stairs the other day & didn't realise till I got to the top. I used to hang onto the wall because I didn't trust the rail to support me. Sad that I let myself get to that level - but great that I had a friend who achieved with Cohens enough to get my attention. I'll be forever grateful to her - The only piece of advice - apart from just do it - do it for YOU - not anyone else, Looking forward to watching your journey. We are here to cheer you on |

Re: I'm scared
Dear Shuki,
I totally relate to what you are saying. I have been in your position, the same thoughts and feelings, using food as a comfort, the low self esteem. It is hard when you feel others just don't understand what is happening to you. So easy to be told, dieting is all you need to do to make yourself feel better, yes this is true but I have found dealing with the underlying issues also helps a great deal. I went and had some counseling before I even started on this program, this was not an easy thing for me to do as I did not want to admit to myself the issues I had carried around with me most of my life were the things that were holding me back. This was my comfort zone. Stepping out of that comfort zone has been one of the scariest things I have done and I take it day by day. Being on this program has been one of the best things I have done but I still take it day by day. I am scared that once I get to my goal weight that I will put weight back on, I will go back to counseling to deal with that when I get there but am learning to love who I am in the meantime. As a serial dieter, I have found Cohen's to be the most amazing program I have ever been on. Once you get into the swing of things with the program, it becomes second nature and the results speak for themselves. Shuki, remember you are worth the effort, not just now but always. New journeys can be scary but are exciting once on them. Callian |

Re: I'm scared
All of us on Cohen's have been there and done that PLUS every fad diet imaginable except Cohen's!! I had NEVER even heard of it or I would have tried it too. I am so grateful that my niece put me on to this one.........mainly because she saw so much success on collegues at work. She thought the no exercise bit would suit me because I have a bad knee and found exercise too difficult. Guess what????? I can now walk the dogs for over an hour!! Once the weight was off the pain in my knee went, my cholesterol went down and I have so much more energy.
Don't let anyone discourage you about going on this program. It is easy, you just have to be determined enough to stick to it 100% and you will be amazed at how fast the kilos keep coming off. This isn't like any other program and you can make it the LAST program you will ever have to try. This actually works but you have to get around the head thing. Look up the before and after photo's in all the diaries. The proof is in the pudding. I know, Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig have those kind of photos too. Most programs do. I like this program because it isn't out there trying to you sell you their brand of products that are full of chemicals and preservatives. There is nothing that comes out of a box (except the crispbreads) and its all REAL food that we can eat forever!!! Get the support of your family. Tell them you will be cooking seperately for yourself and that if you go out, that you will be taking your meal with you. A little planning ahead and this program is a breeze. Do it. YOU CAN DO IT. Don't let that monster in your head put doubts in there. This is for you. This is for YOUR HEALTH. Your family deserves to have you around for the full time that your lifetime has been allocated to you and them. Do what ever it takes to stay as healthy as you can. Read the diaries and you will get the inspiration that you need to get going. Once you join, keep in the forum daily, there is a wealth of information and support here. Lastly, Good luck. You won't need that though, there is no "luck" in this program. Determination.......... yep!! Inspiration........yep!! All I can say is "just do it"! You won't be sorry but you have to "want" it enough for the "right" reasons. I will be watching your journey with interest too!

Re: I'm scared
Shuki- you CAN do this, and it will work. The best part is that it teaches you how to manage your weight for the rest of your life, and gives you time to change your relationship with food very gradually and permanently. I went swimming with my kids two days ago for the first time in months, and it was so good to be able to clown around with them in the pool, and feel good in my first bikini ever! I have been where you are, and I am very sure that you will be where I am!
GO SHUKI! |

Re: I'm scared
thank you all so so so much for your positive comments and encouragement. Battler your line " Your family deserves to have you around for the full time that your lifetime has been allocated to you and them. Do what ever it takes to stay as healthy as you can." actually bought tears to my eyes and I think this is really the reason I need to lose this weight....for my own health and longevity.
I will start a diary and have contacted the clinic - just waiting for them to get back to me. You are all the best! Shuki |
