Talking Lindy's Diary

Well here it goes....

I thought that I would stop in an say hi to everyone. I am almost ready I think...I had the blood test done this morning.

I have put the hubby and friends on notice - no more cakes and cookies with coffee But what is going to hurt the most I think...no more glass of red with cheese at night when the cherubs have gone to bed to unwind.

Just waiting now for the program to arrive so i can get started.

Hi Lindy,
welcome along! You will find lots of great people here to help you along with your journey!
I see your in Sydney, im arranging a meet up soon, hopefully you can come along.

Hope your book arrives soon and the wait isnt too bad!!
Try if you can to avoid any "the last supper" meals or binges, it will only make it worse in the long run...

Good luck

Welcome, Lindy. I was very fond of my glass(es) of wine each day and really expected not having them to be the most difficult part of the diet. However, I didn't miss them from day 1, although definitely looking forward to being able to have the occasional glass when I finish by now. I hope you find it as easy as I did.

Thanks for your comments.....I have been busy. I have cleaned out the pantry and am ready and waiting for the plan to arrive. Have already started to drink lots and lots of water and have reduced carbs. Just waiting... waiting Hopefully will be starting next week sometime. I am sure that I will check back in then - might have some questions to ask.

I hope you receive your plan early in the week, Lindy. Most of us just want to get started once we make the decision to do so.

Yay...I hope. I received my plan and everything today. Have had a little read and will read again later today. I have decided to start Thursday as I have most of the items required but will double check tonight and make myself a shopping list for tomorrow. Can't wait to get started...

Hi Lindy, and welcome! How exciting is it to finally have the program and being about to start? It's quite a ride and it'll be over before you know it. Good luck on Thursday

Hi Lindy

Welcome to Cohens, it really works. I stated on a Thursday as well, almost 14 weeks ago and I've lost so much weight I'm thrilled. I've been deviation free the entire time and i reckon it's the way to go, seems it easier to stick to the plan if you stick with the plan.

All the best. If you're like me and a lot of others on the forum you might get headaches and feel a bit dizzy for a while but it passes and then you'll feel great.

x

Loulou

Well.....I was so so excited about receiving the plan that I looked around the kitchen and I had everthing covered so I started yesterday. It was easy and all went well. I didn't feel hungry but actually felt really full all day.

I went to the supermarket in the afternoon and bought some more items so that I was covered and split the chicken and beef etc into portion to freeze. I think that it is right that if you are organised it really is not hard.

I will have to put some thought into cooking the evening meal for the kids and hubby so that they are just as organised. I am actually likely this planning the meals and shopping for them idea - we will see how I feel about it in a week or two.

I am determined to stay 100% true to the program and have told all of my friends what I am doing so I hope that they are supportive - I am sure they will. (Some might even join me here )

Well thats all for now... it was not hard and I feel great and ready to start the day - I hope that it all stays this way.

Thanks again for your support

Welcome Lindy.

I started just 3 weeks ago. Also on a wednesday. I am not finding it too difficult. Just the odd small deviation, especially in the early days. I'm also in Sydney. I don't have kids to cook for, but as far as hubby goes, I give him a larger piece of whatever protein I'm having - chicken, steak - and I add potato or pumpkin or something to the veg that I'm having. He has cereal etc for breakfast and organises his own lunches. I figure, its healthy food that I'm eating so I'm looking after him as well. He hasn't minded at all.

Have a good Week 1.

Hi Lindy, you sound like you're all organised and very determined. It's wonderful to see. You'll breeze through this! Have you considered joining the 100% deviation free challenge? I find it's a good way to keep myself accountable. Plus, there's dancing mangoes in it for me... ok, so I'm a bit childish, but I like the dancing mangoes...

Default Day 3

Well....the excitement is still there just a little slower this morning. I have been keeping myself busy so that I am not thinking about the program as much but I am struggling a little today. Tired....no real headaches or cravings or anything just plain old tired.

I am hoping to increase my "happy levels" by mid afternoon as we have frineds visiting and also have a party invitation for saturday. I have decided that I will organise my own meal for the party and take it with me so I won't deviate. I have also volunteered to drive some friends to the party so I won't drink and have an easy out for not drinking if others ask.

Maybe I just need a nanna nap after lunch.

Hey Lindy

Yeah that tired thing kinda kicks in but its just your body adjusting to not having as much fuel and its also a hint to get plenty of sleep as thats when the magic happens.

In about a week the happy hormones will take over and you'll just be buzzing - its great.

Remember to drink all your water - you have to pee to be free!

cheers
Irene

I hope that by the time you read this you will be feeling better, Lindy. Don't try to do too much and do try to get as much rest as your body would like during the early stages.

Hi Lindy,

Being tired has been the hardest thing for me too. I'm dropping off in the chair by about 9.30. Hope you have a big loss as a reward for being so good sticking to the plan.

Default Day 5

Thanks all....Never did get that Nana nap and the energy levels didn't pick up but the party went well....and I resisted temptation all night. We are BBQing today which I am feeling fine about as I am taking my own food with me and I have my bottle of zero sprite and soon to try it with some mint over ice as suggested Might have to get out the cocktail glass.

Day 5 is definately better still no headaches and I have the skip back in my step. Thanks again everyone.
