Rose, my consultant warned me to be at home when I first tried milk. I did have a reaction the first couple of times, that might have been to the milk. However, no problems since, although I seldom have any now anyway. I suggest you try it a couple more times and see if you adjust to it.

Yoghurt contains quite a lot of protein, so counts as protein. On maintenance, I've been eating yoghurt with fruit and a couple of teaspoons of rapadura sugar and orange juice made from one orange for breakfast each morning. Despite it being quite high in carbs, I have no difficulty getting through to lunch on that. It may not work for you quite as well, but the protein in yoghurt will offset the effect of some carbs with breakfast.

All the best for your new venture, Rose. You are another one who has lost weight and at the same time has decided to make other changes in your life. Cohen's slimness brings with it the confidence to try something new.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Thanks AJ...i seem to do pretty well on yogurt and good fruits in the morning. It's easier to prepare and I've been doing it since b4 cohens. I think it's just the bad fruit combo that seems to make me hungry sooner. As for the new venture, it was unplanned so it's all rather stressful at the moment and i am glad i am finishing off cohen's. Between the new venture, kids and home i don't think i'll still have time for planned meals although organisation is going to become a big part of my life. I think I will have to plan weekly menus for us all so that the evenings won't be spent cooking in the kitchen. But it's great to be doing something new and exciting and it's going to contribute to my resolution for personal growth.

Default DAY 13

Starting wt:56.3kg
Current weight: 55.8kg
Overnight change: +100g
Nett:-500
g

Changes: New veg/ new prot/ continue CHO/ 3 bread/ 2 bad fruit

HI all. Up by 100g today but all is well. For the first time after the usual apple/ yogurt breakie i was staarrrrving around midmorning! I was tempted to have my lunch earlier. Managed to hold off though. Also a big bummer is that i haven't properly planned the last 5 days! so i am a bit helter skelter.

Kristine - Hi...My refeed program specifically lists milk as a 'new' protein. Did u have milk on your old program?
Btw..I agree abt the weird texture of the milk on the tongue. As for the fruit...my program states i can have my fruit at any time as long as it's spaced apart. I am hoping to continue my yogurts in the morning and have cheese crackers as snacks. i luv them. Ditto on the mixing of proteins...the only proteins i mix are the toppings of chicken or meat on my toasted cheese/mushroom/onion/tomato sandwich. As u can imagine, the sandwich is quite big...so YUMMY!!

ENjoy the rest of refeed
Bye

Rose, our programmes have milk as a new protein, but replace some of the old protein with milk if you have milk. My programme, and I assume all are the same on this, states that if I have 50 gms milk I should reduce old protein by 40 gms.

Hi All

DAY 14

Starting wt:56.3kg
Current weight: 55.9kg
Overnight change: +100g
Nett:-400g

Changes: New veg/ new prot/ continue CHO/ 3 bread/ 2 bad fruit

DAY 15

Starting wt:56.3kg
Current weight: 56.1kg
Overnight change: +200g
Nett:-200g

New veg/ new prot/ continue CHO/ 3 bread/ 2 bad fruit/+margarine

So i am almost done now and the changes have sorta stabilised my weight. I wish i were losing more but i can't have my cake and eat it right. Might have done much better if i hadn't had that freak streak on day 7
Starting DAY 16 today and not much change except for xtra protein

DAY 16

Starting wt:56.3kg
Current weight: 56.0kg
Overnight change: -100g
Nett:-300g

Changes: +New veg/ +new prot/-old 40g protein/ continue CHO/ 3 bread/ 2 bad fruit/margarine

The last couple have days i've found myself to get hungry alot sooner than usual, which sucks. I hope i will be wise in my choice of snacks in the future. I seem to be dealing better with all the protein but i think it's because i enjoy the new protein more. The new veggies have been welcome, so had some microwaved steamed carrot/broccoli and cauli with some garlic salt. So good to see some colour on my plate. Baked potato wedges were a nice touch

Until tomorrow
Bye

Yes, Rose, so lovely to have the colour on the plate. I'm back on Cohen's for this week, and lack of colour is so noticeable now.

By now you are eating almost as much as you need to eat for maintenance, so further losses are unlikely.

Default DAY 17

Starting wt:56.3kg
Current weight: 55.5kg
Overnight change: -500g
Nett:-800g

Changes: extra new prot/minus old prot/xtra new veg/ 2 bad fuit/ CHO/3 bread one with margarine/ 2 biscuits

I have no idea why there was such a huge overnight drop, but i'll take it. I double checked several times and even got onto my old scale. YAY..but i know it may be transient but at least it's not going up right??
It's midday and the new job starting off really stressful. I still have to eat my lunch veg portion. Hopefully better prepared tomorrow food wise. I look fwd to my 2 biscuits later today and will enjoy it with a cup of coffee. One more day left.....I can't believe it's almost the end.

Well done with that loss, Rose. It's very comforting to see it go down like that. Undoubtedly fluid that's been released, and may come back, but it's gone for now. All the best for your last day.

Default DAY 18(last day)

Thanks AJ and ASLAN fot stopping by. Aslan...looks like u going to get there in no time. Hope to see your diary soon...hopefully within the next month? *fingers crossed*
Starting wt:56.3kg
Current weight: 55.3kg
Overnight change: -200g
Nett:-1kg

Changes: pretty much the same as yesterday but now only new veg and new protein.

So same as yesterday i had another overnight drop on the scale...I'm getting close to TOM so this is interesting. I hope i can maintain my current weight. I must admit i've deviated a bit. Not with weights or other cheats but with adding more spices. I've started adding some of my favorite mixed spices to my meat. yesterday i added some of my homemade crumb. For others reading this....u not supposed to deviate on refeed!! I couldn't help myself It didn't make a difference to my overnight weight change and it really was rather minimal.BUT it's still not allowed.

Rose, the aims of refeed are, I think, to bring your calorie intake up to normal levels steadily and gradually, and to enable you to determine if some of the new foods cause your body to react. While I'm not suggesting that the rules on spices can be forgotten during refeed, I wouldn't expect that a small increase would affect you in any way.

Congratulations on finishing and being ready to start your new life.

Day 19
Starting wt:56.3kg
Current weight: 55.1kg
Overnight change: -200g
Nett:-1.2kg

I will post a stat sheet to show the loss over the last 3 months
