Not intentional, just too bloody lazy to type:

LOL is accepted forum shorthand, it's not a problem.

It's the people who actually type whole sentences in sms-speak that annoy the living daylights out of me!

This thread is a hidden gem - amazing what you stumble on under the guise of a fairly 'normal' topic, that has you crying with laughter.

for my part, it takes me too long to think about SMS-type abbreviations than to type the proper word.

And for anyone concerned, anagrams (eg: LOL, TOM) are different from text because the letters actually each stand for a word - as opposed to abbreviations combining numbers and letters that you actually have to say out loud to figure out what they mean!!!!
