What do do with all those yoghurt containers?

I noticed we have been going through mountains of 1kg yoghurt containers (hubby eats the yoghurt too) and thought there must be a use I can put them to. So, thought I would start this thread for us to share some useful - and hopefully amusing - uses for them.

So far I have come up with using them to store my weighed out frozen food - the lid is marked "dinner" or "lunch" and the little freezer bags are in there so I don't have to write on every bag.

Someone else must have some more exciting ideas though...????

I know someone who uses them for growing seedlings in. I think if you google it there's some ideas (reusing yogurt containers). You can also paint them and use them for cheap mini potplant holders.

Or make homemade banana custard or jelly with fruit in it for the rest of the family and store it in there!

I freeze water in them for our esky.

We drink alot of tea so we use them to put the tea leaves in. Also good for coffee grounds and then when they are full its a good compost for the garden.

Also handy as the ones I use have a firm resealable lid (Jalna) so not bad for storing baking needs and leftovers from dinners in. I live in a flat so thats their leftovers, to clarify.

I'm a teacher and once other staff saw these "great new containers" I had in my room - getting rid of them wasn't a problem!

I use them to store bolts and nails and things in the garage

I grow herbs in them now. Since I am eating so much more fresh herbs I decided that I should grow them. I have so many containers - I even gave some away for gifts with herbs in them. Just wrap cellophane paper around the bottom and let the excess around the top. Hold in place with a rubberband. Simple and easy! and recycling at its best!

haha great question. I love my yoghurt now but I also get stuck with all these containers.

i either use them for my dog's biscuits or they go to the bin.
