Yep, quite a rumble in the jungle here last night

In south Gippsland, less than 10kms below the surface, about 5.20 force

The windows whipped twice in the about 30 seconds of the rumble. I was sitting on the couch about 8.55pm when we heard the windows whip, then the couch started to vibrate. It woke up the cat who was seriously not impressed.

The vibration almost stopped, then the second whip and the rumbling resumed.

We actually pay a premium on our shop insurance for being in an earthquake zone. And a Wild Fire insurance on our house for being in a Bush Fire zone.

Still, our rumble wouldn't even be noticed in Christchurch, would it, Ladies - but we are coming to visit next March (port hopping up the East Coast) so we shall get to see what a truly serious earthquake can do

WOW really, holy moly i have friends from chc that moved to melbourne to get away from the earthquakes lol - hope everyones ok, 5.2 is a pretty big jolt. unfortunately i now sleep through anything smaller than a 5 - the initial quake is the wake up call the aftershocks are just annoying and ur heart skips a beat everytime

wow, i still believe an earthquake is an earthquake and a 5.2 that is quite shallow still scares me! Ive seen alot of posts on fb etc of chch people in melbourne saying oh that was nothing stop complaining, you didnt live in chch! i think its unfair, scary no matter where you are. my 2 cents anyway

I hate earthquakes regardless of how big or how little.

The earth doesn't feel right when its moving. Its yuck!

Hope there wasn't too much of a clean up...the supermarkets and bottle stores will be hating it.

Nicole did you ever smell Chch shops after an aftershock? Eww ;P
