Default When to start refeed

After 3 attempts im almost there

Ive read a few different things about when to start refeed so was after some clarification.

Do you start it when your at the upper number of your goal range or do you start a few kg's before you get to that point.

So if a healthy BMI for me starts at 77 at what weight should I start refeed?

What is your goal range DrRixo?

Usually it would be recommended that you wait until you are within your goal range before you start refeed...in exceptional circumstances like a very heavy bone structure or high lean muscle mass composition, you might not be able to get down to your goal range.

I started at the bottom of my goal range and didn't lose any really during refeed....might start 1 or 2 kg above my bottom goal weight this time, if I feel ready, and see if I lose any during refeed.

Hope that helps.

You can always ask your consultant.

But you should be within your Cohens goal range (not just the standard BMI), and be really hungry. There are other symptoms too, but those 2 are up there in importance.

Well, to be completely frank, because for most people BMI stands for BullSh*t Mass Index....but as you have stated, your top goal weight is when the "healthy BMI range" starts. You wouldn't want to just rely on BMI to start refeed when you have paid to have your plan calculated for you and have been given a goal weight range to aim for.

Your consultant should recommend that you begin refeed when you feel you need more food/have the "classic" refeed symptoms AND while you are within your goal range.

Hope that makes sense/helps.
