Default do you reset on original or refeed plan?

Hi there I have been on maintenence now for around 2 weeks and have found that I have gained approx 1.5kg from my lowest refeed weight.
As I can't contact the clinic and unfortunately havn't had a chance to go over the maintenance guidelines with them (thats another story) I'm unsure if I should be going back to my original plan or my refeed plan to shift them?
And how long should I expect it to take?
I have had quite a few social functions over the last week and with quite a few more just around the corner so I am wanting to loose what I have gained so that things don't get out of hand! I am very bloated and not feeling 100% so if thats not reason enough to do something about it - I'm not sure what is!
Cheers

Hi

I find if I stick to 2 days Cohen friendly (cut all carbs and sugar) you can drop that weight (maybe even overnight!)...no stress just eat your cracker allowance but eat larger amounts of protein and veg so you dont get hungry

Thank you hexi that makes sense. I have been trying to stick with my original plan the last couple of days but as i was getting a tad hungry so I ended up deviating. I will do as you say for the next few days and see what happens. I think after waking up today and looking about 6 mths pregnant my head is now in the right place to get on and loose that couple of kg's.
Thanks and wish me luck!

Hi

I also put on a bit of weight over the weekend but have almost dropped it again. The last couple of days I have stuck to plan foods but not bothered to weigh them. I've been having middle of refeed amounts I would guess.

Good luck.

Rach

Thanks Rach and hexi
I have had two good days sticking to cohens food with no carbs or sugar and I have dropped 900g - today I had lunch out and tomorrow dinner and drinks out so I will probably be back to the drawing board come monday but thats ok because I know no what I need to do to quickly shift it.
This program really is priceless!! thanks Dr cohen

I have also gained weight after the end of my refeed. Firstly, I am still learning what foods I can and can't eat, and I had a lot of social functions. I even have one today and then we are going away with friends for Christmas (long weekend), so it's impossible to eat Cohen's friendly right now. I have made up my mind to eat Cohens-friendly after we return from our holiday. I managed to gain a whole kg after just one 3-course lunch which was my work's Chrismas function!! Ouch!!

I manage to run every day for 5-10km which makes it even more scary that I am still gaining weight, so I have to carefully watch what I'm eating.

It feels like a never-ending battle

It is. Obesity is just like being an alcoholic, it's a disease and once you have it, all you can do is control it. Dr. C resets all the mechanisms and starts you at your proper weight. It's up to you to "stay on the wagon" just like an AA member. It's a
"for life" thing but remember always remember my catchphrase here:

So true sms!
Alibaba I know how you are feeling I have been constantly up and down while on maintenence with my weight. As much as I love Christmas I am looking forward to it being over! There just seems to be that added temptation everywhere and not to mention the endless christmas functions........
Good luck and hopefully you won't gain to much more, fingers crossed for us both

Hey all, don't forget that there's a 3kg weight fluctuation allowance. I guess part of the anxiety of weight gain comes with the fact that we tend to weigh ourselves daily. Really, I think it is normal for the body to go up and down pending on the type of food one consumes every day. Even the normal skinny people get that too! Go track the weight of your close ones and see how they fare daily. Only difference is, we have a tendency to over induge in whatever we eat hence leading to being fat. If we indulge EVERY DAY then the weight WILL stay. I've figured that despite the occasional "big eating" now won't quite put on the weight really because I "reset" my body system almost immediately after the pig out session... ok not good to be doing that but one needs to do what a man needs to do hey? To be honest, I've gone for a number of buffets during maintenance. My hubby is a real food addict but I've managed to reset my body system all the time. I don't allow myself to return to the old ways of eating and eating big meals non stop daily!
