Default Greetings and Salutations

Hello

An active forum! Hello everyone!

I'm new to the plan and starting on Friday

I'm in my early 40s and used to weigh more than 160kg. I lost some of the weight on another weightloss program 10 yrs ago and have kept much of it off but I'm still in the triple digits. I'm now looking at losing about 65 kilos to get to my goal weight - which I haven't been since I was about 20!

I had miscarriage this year and whilst it wasn't related to weight, the anxiety I felt being pregnant and the idea of putting on weight whilst pregnant made me realise I had to do something positive with my health after my loss.

It's nice to meet you all.

Thanks, I'm going to keep a diary - today preparing my lunch for the first time I realised how much 100grams of vegetables are.

so.. I felt ashamed because it's huge. I've never eaten that much before.

Welcome to the forum Rettstar.

Keeping a diary and regular posting on the forum will help you to stay true. Start you own diary under the new diaries link (can't remember exactly how to do it as I started such a long time ago but I am sure there will be instructions) as this is a great way to record your own journey. Do take photos for the days when you feel you aren't getting anywhere - as the weight will drop off quickly and you will be amazed at your transformation.

You may think that it is a lot of vegetables now but wait until you have been on programme for a while as you will have days where you spend a lot of time working out which veges weighs the lightest and will give you the biggest plate full.

The one important piece of information I can give is DON"T DEVIATE!!!! Having been here for over 3 years, the people that succeed are the people that don't deviate. I will admit to deviating unintentionally (other than guessimating food weight when out) at the beginning as I spread out some of my food until my consultant reminded me of the 5 hour rule and once at Christmas where I had a spoonful of non regulation vegetables, however it is possible to stick to this diet to the t and it is those people that do that will reach goal. Read the do's and don'ts several times as I know the muck up I had at the beginning did set me back a week.

Stay true to the programme and rules and you will succeed

Wow R

I wish I felt that way 100g of veggies really seems so little to me. But as Winterboots said - this will change for you. Near the end you get pretty hungry. Lots of good luck and stick to the plan - you cant go wrong.

Welcome R, as the other lovelies have stated if you stay deviation free and stick to the plan you will be in love with the new you that is transforming in front of your eyes! This is my second time back - didn't reach goal weight and let life get in the way - but feel I am in the right head space.
My motivation and inspiration comes from reading diaries and especially others photos - actually started to feel like a bit of a stalker
I look forward to following your journey
Happy Friday

Hi Rettstar!

Welcome to the forum! I agree wholeheartedly with the others about staying deviation free - it really does make all the difference... Dr Cohen has put a lot of years into developing this program and it really does work... but we MUST stick to the Golden Rules!!

One thing I did that helped me was to make copies of the allowed foods and my 'prescription' I then made sure I have a copy in my handbag for just in case... or take a photo of those pages on your phone so you always have it with you

Also DO NOT weigh daily! Stick to the recommended 4 week weigh ins - you will be blown away by what you see! Also make sure to do your measurements weekly it is so inspiring to see them going down down down

Good luck on your journey... you will not regret your decision to do this program!

allie

Finish RF - 24/9/2015 - 65.3 kg

Restart EP - 11/4/2016 - Goal 66.0 kg

Weight loss itself is not the goal - Learning to eat healthy for the rest of our lives is what the journey is all about!

thanks everyone,

I am very strong willed so I have every expectation that I will succeed!

@allie I don't own scales so I won't be doing weekly weigh ins but I do plan on weekly measurements.

I will start a diary after i look at the mountain of vegies and contemplate how on earth will i get through them tonight. .

Already figuring out recipes

YAhhhhhh for no more sugar cravings! I still get them about once a week but push on through - how are you getting on? I wish I could be as brave as you and do this with no scales to weigh myself - I just don't have the will power so go you
Happy Friday
