A few refeed questions
I'm at the stage now where tomorrow I can start mixing proteins. However I have two questions. How do you determine what line to use in each meal number if your mixing proteins. Can you mix more then two proteins. For example can I have a chicken cheese omelette? Cheers |

Re: A few refeed questions
I am pretty sure you can't mix your cheese and egg proteins. You also can not increase these protein portions either - so you can't have a 2 egg omellette or extra cheese. You would mix either egg or cheese with another protein choice, starting with one egg or a your cheese meal portion, and the extra protein would be chicken/poultry, beef/red meat or fish. Eg. cheese portion (normal) with "extra" protein serve of tuna - which might only be 20-40 grams, or one egg with "extra protein portion of beef.
I think your other question can be answered by carefully reading your refeed instructions...I can't quite recall off the top of my head, and I don't want to put you wrong. |

Re: A few refeed questions
i've checked and it doesnt say anything about how many proteins you can mix.
Also do you have to mix proteins on all 3 meals. For example do I have to mix protein with yogurt? How do I go about this? One more question. Does the 5 hour rule still apply? |

Hi Rixo...I just chose a line and halved it eg if it was beef, 100 g, then I'd have 50g of beef and chicken. McB is right, you can add to your cheese, egg, and yoghurt if you want, but you can't add cheese etc to another meal...don't exceed the maximums of cheese, egg and yoghurt.
I didn't mix extra protein with yoghurt, but you could always add your extra portion to it if you really wanted. I did mix beef, chicken and lamb when I was allowed new protein, or had cheese with lamb for breakfast. Bee has an excellent post from her clinic on why mixing proteins is important, my clinic said to focus on lunch and dinner. When you are allowed to mix proteins, the 5 hour rule doesn't apply any more |

Re: A few refeed questions
Thank you.
Could you add say 30grams of cheese to a meat meal as long as that is the only cheese for the day? Also tomorrow I can start having 2 pieces of bread. Can I have them together to make a sandwich or do they have to be seperate? |

You can definately have your 2 slices together, but you can't add the cheese to another meal...I don't fully understand that, but it is only for refeed ...I added cheese to meals when I was finished

Re: A few refeed questions
This cheese thing is confusing me.
Is it alright to add cheese to my main meat meal which is meal number 2 which is the same meal number as my cheese meal and then have a meal 1 and meal 3 or is cheese a no go when mixing proteins? |

Re: A few refeed questions
Um I will try to be a bit clearer, using my own plan as an example.
I have a cheese meal option only at Meal 1 or Meal 2. When mixing proteins I chose Meal1 Cheese at whatever cheese grams plus whatever vege grams. Then I added my extra protein (was halving the extra protein and veges between two meals each day) in the form of tuna - it was only like 30 or 40 grams. So I had like a tuna cheese melt. When mixing your proteins with cheese and egg meals (and yoghurt I guess where you could have an entree size snack of other protein with your yoghurt meal, like an entree then yoghurt as "dessert"), you always keep the cheese or egg meal as it is on your original eating plan, and add the extra protein in the other protein form. Hope that makes sense! |

Re: A few refeed questions
I think most people get scared to start refeed! But it is truly fun! Experiencing all the tastes again and witnessing first hand that if you eat the right foods, you can still maintain your weight! It's an amazing experience!!!

Re: A few refeed questions
Hi - if anyone is still on this thread/forum. I have a quick question. Is Avo allowed as a new veg on refeed? It is not listed in my refeed programme, but a friend who started a few months after me has avo included in her list of new vegetables.
Thanks |

Re: A few refeed questions
If it isn't on your list then it isn't included. But once you finish re-feed then you can try it out and weight yourself the next day to see what effect it has on your body
