Re: Joint problems
Thanks SMS I have been trying to read through your diary to find any reference but it's a looong diary.
I had no gout problems before the change in my diet. Hmmm I didn't know mushrooms could be a problem. Will have to cut them and see if that makes it ok. I am definitely drinking 2+ litres of water a day so that's definitely not it. Will cut mushrooms and see if that makes a difference. I don't eat alot of the other stuff so that's all it could be really. |

Re: Joint problems
Mushrooms, spinach and cauliflower are my main veges I'm worried about cutting them out because it doesn't leave me with much else - I drink my full 3 litres of water daily so I'm not sure why else my Uric Acid would be so high.

Re: Joint problems
Hi Pauly,
maybe try upping your water intake a little. I was drinking 3 litres and the clinic then told me to up it to 3.5 to 4litres. (1 litre for every 25kg that u weigh) seems to have helped me to lose more than the 1kg a week so it may help with your uric acid I dont know. Just a thought..... |

Re: Joint problems
Hi all,
Just for anyone following this thread, I wanted to highlight a little part for more scrutiny :- Quote:
BUT, to take it as gospel when hugely overweight can be disastrous - so be sure to think (or check with your clinic) before taking that guide as mandatory. Asy said herself something like this - "At the start, following that rule, I would have had to drink SEVEN litres per day - that is MADNESS !!" It is dangerous to drink TOO MUCH water. so follow that particular guideline within reason..... Of course, make allowances for your environment too. Don't blindly follow mantras without consideration - including mine (bolded earlier in this paragraph ). Koh
