Talking V(S)exy's 2017 Diary

Good Morning,

Blessed to be alive, healthy (but overweight) and to be on the road to a new me.

Week one is done and dusted! The hardest part is over, the headaches are gone, and my tummy seems to adjust pretty well to the correct portions again.

I am on a 5 day challenge with myself,. I am on the yogurt option for supper till Saturday, because this is my cm week I want to push for kgs too.

Have a great day to everyone that just started and to those who will inspire us through the journey already taken.

Time on the forum:

I just read through the "tips" section and this kinda grows on me "food should not be seen as entertainment but seen as a fuel".

I read on another blog 2 years ago "hunger is not an emergency" this also stuck with me, definitely 2 mantra's I don't want to forget.

I think I picked up the weight again because I didn't sort out my "HEAD", I don't think that I allowed myself to be thin, beautiful and happy. I think that the "new" found happiness scared me and made me think that it wasn't meant for me because I was obese my whole adult life. I really didn't want to pick up weight again, but I've let myself down over time. I lost sight of my original motivators.

I will make a point of letting go of such notions during my journey to the new me this time around. I am pretty sure I will find emotional direction to accept the "new" me by the time I am the "new me".

Lots of inner reflection...sometimes it helps to see it spelled out.

Hi Vexy,
Yeah, there are some great tips around, and, in the "getting to know yourself" stakes, there were some shining lights on here.

One I well recall is Shanara - she had a longer journey than most, but she also had a very healthy "inner knowledge" that she would share regularly in her diary, or in other posts. Many of her thoughts became "gems" in the thread about great sayings and stories ("This forum has hidden gems"- I think it is still a sticky somewhere).

If you have time to spare, have a quick scan through her Diary - perhaps starting here:-

You'll need a cut lunch if you wanted to read the lot - or maybe it is one to access as you step through YOUR journey and reached certain milestones. Shanara was one to shine a light on each and every one, and share some innermost thoughts about how she was feeling about her path.

In there too, you will see posts from others who likewise had some really great thoughts to share with her, and these can lift your spirits as you take in some of their fresh ideas.

And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!

Hi All,

Just a quick hello to the diary and everyone on the journey. I have lost my first dress size (5kgs)

Happy happy happy with the progress. My clothes are fitting better already. Looking forward to reach my first goal, time frame for that is 31 July, which I hope to achieve before that.

I have a huge family gathering end of August and I want to be as slim as humanly possible by then.

I am focused and cheat-free as on date, and proud of myself.

Good luck to all, the first step was the hardest, keeping up is easier.

Quick Diary update,

I was a terrible cohenite this weekend. I was home alone and not in the mood preparing food for me, myself and I so I had a McDonalds burger, fries and a cappuccino. This was really nice but immediately showed on the scale on Sunday Morning.

However, I just went right back on the program. It is amazing how quickly the weight drops as soon as I was back on track again.

My vice is cappuccino's so I had Yoghurt with coffee and a sachet sweetener for Lunch with a crushed cracker.

Good luck for the rest of the week to my brothers and sisters also battling the bulge.

Good on you for getting back on the bus straight after you stepped off!!
I think I have mentioned before that I really dislike the word "deviate" and all the negative that goes with it, I think it is far healthier to go 'well I f*cked that up' and let it go and move on and get right back on the bus just like you did so great work!

Exclamation V(S)exy's 2017 Diary

Hello Fellow Cohenites

I didn't have time to update my diary the past few weeks, but here goes....
The big family gathering happened last week, I managed to drop 8.3 before I went, thus only 4-5kgs heavier than the last time they saw me.

So everyone was soooo amazed to see that I managed to keep the body in check, little did they know...

Well I ate like a horse, I haven't been brave enough to get on the scale to see what the damage was.

But here is the thing I started today again. Yup, I'm full of headaches, but it is good, because the body is shedding all the poison I fed it the past few days.

Am I the only one that struggles with water in winter?


I'll weigh on Friday morning and update again. I will win this war with my food addiction.
