Default Cohen's after pregnancy?

Hi all!

Well well well it's been a long time since I've been here 😮 hope you have all been doing well on your Cohen's Journeys!! Just wanting to reach out to anyone who has commenced Cohen's after giving birth? I am due to give birth to my very first baby (baby boy ☺️) at the end of August and as I watch the scales go up and up... I've realised Cohen's could be just the ticket I need to make them go back down again afterwards!

Glad to be back on the forum and following all of your diaries 😊 Look forward to hearing any tips/tricks/experiences/suggestions you may have!

Hi Sally!
Big congrats on your pregnancy and yes yes yes I'm totally there! I had my boy in June 2016 and put on 10kg through two rounds of IVF and then another 20kg or so through pregnancy.

I worried a lot until one of the midwives at my OB tolde she had put on 5-7kg per IVF then 20kg in pregnancy and lost it through exercise and nutrition over 2 years.

So I breastfed for a year and lost 8kg in that time and once I stopped breastfeeding it was straight into a new EP

All the best w your pregnancy and baby. There is so much time post partum to lose weight

Thank you Marmaduke! Very exciting time ☺️ So happy to hear you've got a bouncing baby boy! Just over 1yo now? Bet he keeps you on your toes!

Thank you for sharing your experience, it's so reassuring to hear that it is doable! Yep you're right, plenty of time to worry about this later - let's focus on getting bubs out first 😉

Hi Sally

Just touching base to say I hope you're keeping well and to give you an update... I started Cohens when my son was 12 months old and now, five months later, have lost 25kg and it's making a world of difference as he's getting very active and I'm happy to say I'm keeping up.

Take good care and take your time. I hope your recover is going well xx

Hi Marmaduke! 😃 thanks so much for checking in! 25kgs in 5months.........OMG!!! That is incredible!! I forgot just how well this program works 😄 was it your first time using the plan or had you used it in the past? My little boy will be 8wks this coming Friday and (after a day or two of false starts &#128514 I'm ready to get my butt kicked into gear! I know the first few days are going to be TOUGH going 😰, but I can't wait to get that feeling when you finally hit 'the zone'! 😊

How are you going with the program now, are you still losing or are you maintaining now? And motherhood! Please tell me it gets easier haha 😂😩

Hope you're going well 😊

Hi Sally, congrats on your baby boy! I had my boy 18months ago so am back on the program to shed the weight! (16kg&#128561 I had a few ‘false starts’ but found it hard to stay on plan while breastfeeding as I was so hungry! I’m now in week 2 and in the ‘zone’. Hopefully we can both get our pre baby bods back ☺️

Hi Sally

Congratulations! And yes it definitely gets easier and they all sleep eventually then they don't then they do then you think you can't love them any more than you already did then they start their special mummy smiles and your heart explodes! It's all hard and beautiful and so intense

My boy is almost the same age as your bub Tess! 17 months and I started after I stopped breast feeding him at 12 months. Must say I wasn't quite ready to stop breastfeeding as I loved it so much (was so tough at first I almost gave up but so glad I persevered! Who knew bubs have to learn?!) but I had to go on medication which wasn't compatible w breastfeeding

Definitely take your time. The first few months is so sweet and so tough just surviving is enough! No rush the weight will come off when you're ready. I tried a few things when I was breastfeeding and realized it was just too early for me

I got a new plan as I thought I'd need support but it's not really been necessary and it's too hard going into the clinics with bub. Last time I was 7 minutes late and the consultant decided to see the next appointment and I had to wait 30 mins w a cranky toddler. Argh! Perth clinic isn't mum friendly at all so I just email now and that's been enough

All the best and lots of hugs. The early days are a blur for me but I just remember feeling so physically and emotionally raw and oh so tired! It's much easier now my dear xx
