Hey Beccy,

Chin up lovie! Everyone here is more than happy to pull you forward when you need, and celebrate your successes with you. Health first always, so if you had to take medications and stop the plan because of your health, thats not your fault so don't beat yourself up about it. Welcome back to the bus!

Hey Beccy, you're not alone on returning to the program (its my second time and I dont have any reason other than I stuffed my face again until I put all of it back on, and then some). Important thing is you are back and you know it works, so as Alli says hop back on the bus and lets take the journey together

Welcome Beccy. Sounds like you had more to think of than watching your weight. I hope your medical problems are all behind you now. There are a lot of us here who are in a similar position to you and with less excuse.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Red face I am back, too! 2008-2009 loser

Hi,

I was here a couple or so years ago and did great....I gained back about 20 pounds and bought a new program, like we are told to do and I couldn't stick to it longer than a month.

I continued to stuff my face and here I am with all of my weight back plus 10+ more to lose.

I have paid for my new program and still need to go do first blood test and hope to start program by Feb. 23.

I am excited.

That should have said " I couldn't stick to it 100% for more than a month and then kept trying and stopping and restarting until I got to refeed time and that was hard, even though I did it...don't think I gave it my best."

And maintenance was hard....I fought and fought to keep the weight off and then didn't follow maint. rules very well and kept eating and eating carbs and sugar...almost as if I had a disease.

I am now waiting for the 3rd and FINAL program to arrive, while I do my old program. So I will get a head start on this weight loss! And I will do maint. correctly this time. I feel smarter about how my body handles food and have learned so much.

loved your quote Cate!! Huggs to Beccy. You've obviously gone thru a rough trot but you've seen the familiar light at the end of tunnel. Don't be too hard on yourself. Plan to Succeed now. If you don't plan to succeed then, you are planning to fail. You know it is achievable because you have been there and done that. Get your program out. Pre-prepare your meals so you are ready when you are hungry or if you have to go out unexpectedly, you can take your meal with you. Try a new recipe everyday to keep it interesting.
You have a lot of support out here in the forum, dive in everyday to keep yourself motivated through your journey. We are all here to help each other to get to where we want to be.

Hi Beccy, good on you for coming back - can't ever give up. and it's the best program - it healthy, you feel good (after detox!) have energy, feel positive, and you lose quickly (in comparison to other diets) - that's why I always come back (just have to STAY with it now....) I can't remember eating any other way (first time for me was in 2004 and I have always stuck with the principle ideas). hope you're feeling better soon - you can get back to your low weight again -others have, so you can too!

question New_Ruby:
How different is your new program to your origina one? Just curious. Did they put you on more food this time or less?

Hi guys I am no where near maintenence (Day 2 on Cohens!) But have been a little concerned about how hard it will be to keep the weight off once I'm done with re-feed. Was just wondering if anyone does any exercise to keep fit? I would have thought that you would be able to live a normal life like any other skinny person and have naughty things occasionally if you exercise aswell? But I'm worried thats not the case!

Hi Sammy - just want to let you know it is definitely possible to maintain and have a little treat now and then. Exercise is very important and this stage as well as moderation - the word that most of us have troubles relating to! My first problem was that I didn't do refeed. Even so, I still managed to maintain for about 9 months and then it started to creep on - mmmm.. maybe it was the iced chocolate with whipped cream everyday at work ??? My friend has maintained pretty well for about 2 years now - up and down by a few kilos but all in all doing really well. You will be able to do it. Keep going and your life will change in so many ways for the better.

Hey Baileyrose,
Thanks for that! Has reassured me a bit! Have been wanting to get into Zumba for a few months anyway, so I think that might be the way to go when I do get onto maintenence! Will be alot easier dancing around when theres no jiggle......

Hi all, it's been a couple of mths since I wrote this post and pleased to say that I've gained 1kg since finishing round 2 of the old programme and refeed. Whilst my goal weight range is supposed to be 53-56 kg I have found that this is just not realistic for me to maintain. I am happy to sit between 57-58kg for the rest of my life. This is what I was for the most part of my 20's (pre having 3 kids) and I was always happy with that and felt healthy and great. I'm 39 this year and I have accepted that my metabolism has slowed down and I'm not as active as I used to be 10-15 yrs ago so I this weight range (slight above the ideal) works for me. If I tried to keep under 56 kg it would be impossible and I would just feel disheartened all the time.

It is a constant learning process. It's taken me all this time to read the signs my body is giving me. I've just realised that when I'm craving sugar/carbs it's because I've had too much of it. When you're on the programme you don't crave any sweet stuff so I now know that it's the first sign to pull back and watch what I'm eating.

Perhaps the biggest lesson learnt too is that after any day or weekends of eating badly you really do need to nip it in the bud asap. If I don't eat well straight away the extra weight just doesn't come off. So I guess yes, you can have a treat every now and then but you have to compensate for it afterwards.

I've also upped my exercise in the last yr. I'm totally addicted to pilates and now doing 2 classes a week. I find my appetite is greater after I exercise but I don't feel like eating crap food afterwards as I feel so great physically.

Hope, everyone is doing well in their own journey.

Lindy

I got a new plan as a LOT had changed since my first one, and of course I couldn't find it!
I think I would always try the old plan & if not working get a new one. I knew my body chemistry was so much different though.

Hi all,
Just be sure that your "weight gain over some months" isn't this recently-discovered aberration:-

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthr...649#post447649

Seems there are Reset rules that even some consultants are not aware of Have a read and become aware of an issue around Resets that can totally derail you in Maintenance,
