shanara, congratuations on yet more losses this morning, I bet that helped lift your spirits! Maybe it was all that partying that burned up the calories - mind you we are meant to be taking it easy on this program!
Those nurses that take blood are really good, thats all they do all day and they get really expert at it, no need for concerns at all with them.
I was interested to note your comments on Jennifer Hawkins, we often feel we should apologize for what we are eating on this program, but for many people who are slim it is because they remain vigilant with what they eat, it is not by accident for most. I fhave found that as I have become slimmer, people who dont know me just accept the smaller amounts I eat and I suspect may not even realise I am dieting, but think I am just being careful. we most certainly do not need to apologise for not eating the wrong things as I think we sometimes do when we socialise and get offered things.

Good luck with your Dad!

And a bit more partying just for good measure!

I hope that TOM doesnt hamper you and if it does, just remember its only temporary

Congratulations on the distinction.

And the extra losses,. great motivator isnt it to see continual losses on the scales.

Sometimes we hear & see what others are eating, re, Jennifer hawkins, and think wow thats not much but really we were the ones eating WAY more than our bodies needed. Treats are just that , treats every now & then, not a few times a day.
I read the same article but didnt really think about it until you posted it....rewally made me assess my attitude....thanks

Keep smiling & happy days

I'd take the magazine article with a grain of salt. Most of them are less than accurate anyway. As long as Cohens works for us, that's all that matters, really.

I'd be going to bed if you're tired, sweetness. As AJ said, the fruit and crispbreads are optional, so if you don't feel the need for them, the sleep will do more for you.

Congratulations on your high distinctions!! We don't get them at TAFE. Distinctions are the highest there. Go figure. If it's meant to be used as entry for uni, you'd think the marking would be the same. Don't worry about the one you have to redo. At least you have the chance to make it better!

Glad my fairy dust is working! Here's some more to make sure you have a great weekend!

Well a busy weekend and not much time for posting in the forum although I did get to read a bit in here at odd momments.

This morning I am 117.9 - a loss of 16.8 Kgs - who'd have thought it possible. The lasy weight I remember being was 118 after going ot the gym for a couple of years and loosing no weight so gave up in disgust. Funny how my mind works - I was actually a lot fitter and felt good even though I was still big. So now i am under that weight which I thought I'd never see again and I have a wide range of clothes that now fit. Hopefully I can get through the summer with what I have and maybe a couple of new jeans as I shrink.

As I have been overseas for some of the last two winters my winters wardrobe is pretty desperate so will have fun buying some new clothes for winter.

Did a workshop over the weekend which was fantastic and I let go of a lot of old beliefs.

Son is home for the week as he does his work experience. He prefered to get up at 4.20am to catch train to work than have me drive him. He is definitely gving me the message that he wants to be his own man. Hope he is well held by the universe.

Jenny - thanks so much for visiting.

Lisa - wish the same brilliant week for you as well - you are going so well.

Vee - yep I went for the sleep - felt so much better for it over the weekend. vee - I am following in your footsteps as you shine the light ahead of me. Wow you are getting so close to your goal.

Asmara - Thanks for visiting.

Mette - you're probably right but what I got out of it was that many of those that are slim also have to watch and be able to say no and only indulge occassionally. Wow your fairy dust works a treat.

Ellabelle - thanks for visiting - sleep won! Wow you are almost at goal - well done.

Tara - yep made a lot of sense to me - was surprised she only indulges once a week - for me before it was daily and then some.

Louise - yep - our attitudes to food can really change on this programme. You are so close to gaol now - so happy for you .

AJ - I can understand that you don't come into the diaries as before . I have been lucky that I realised early on to hang out for goal was a defeating strategy so I just enjoy each day whatever ot brings and enjoy each little milestone. For me its about the journey - not the end as I know the end isn't really the end anyway just a new journey.

Well onto finish next assessment - only two more to go and then I am done for this year !!

Have a great Cohens day everyone
Shanara

I think that's a wise philosophy, watching what you eat and indulging occasionally. That's a strategy that is sustainable for life!

I'm sure your son will be ok. It's healthy that he wants to be his own man, and he knows that you're there if he does need you.

Keep up the great work, pretty lady! You're doing great!

Thumbs up

Shanara,
Congrats, how exciting. I have around the same amount of weight to loose as you and it does seem daunting if you look at the numbers still to be lost but I try not to think of that and just enjoy the numbers that are going down and the difference my body feels. Can't wait till I reach those teens as well, I'm currently 121.2 so hopefully soon to join you. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you.
Michele

Went to my wonderful naturopath yesterday who took some computer readings and my potassium level is a bit down. The only food we eat on Cohens which is relatively high in Potassium is kiwifruit so am now adding them to the programme for me even though don't particulary enjoy the taste.

The other thing which was interesting is that my magnesium and sodium levels are fairly good and she puts this down in part to my epsom salts baths I have been having. So not only are the baths good for detoxing but they also allow my body to absorb magnesium and sodium.

Thankfully the gallbladder seems to be OK although it and my lymph glands are doing a lot of detoxing at the momment. To be expected.

I will go back in 6 weeks just to check my system again - she is very thorough and good at her work.

Hope everyone is feeling on track and in the zone - I am although feel a little dehydrated at the momment. seems ot happen before TOM although it seems to be very late this month. Perhaps I will skip it this month - do sometimes.

Michele - you are doing really well - looks like we will be travelling down through the ticker together. I think enjoying the journey and not worrying about the destination at this point is the way to go. You'll be a teen soon and I'm coming to your party!

Tam - thanks for your kind words - yes i enjoy and appreciate your visits to my diary too.

Joroma - thanks my friend - won't be long and you will be in double digits - I'm coming to your party.

Maria - you are very welcome to visit my diary any time you wish - (putting on kettle for pot of green tea) - yes I remember when I first started it was almost like if I could hang out here all day I would catch it too.

Mette - yes I think there were some strategies in the article I can use - even if it was true or not. having him here this week is quite stressful for me but keeping my heart open to him. mette - oyu are getting so close to refeed now.

Enjoy your day everyone.
Blessings
Shanara

Hi Shanara

Looks like you have it down pat and just cruising. Way to go. Makes it all that much easier.

Have never been to a naturopath before. I don't think one is even in Broken Hill, there's not a lot of choice in the hill for anything All that brand new fang dangle stuff.

Hoping it goes well with your son. I know how hard it can be when it is like this. I packed mine up and sent him off with the dad for the rest of the year and maybe the whole of next hahaha.

Doing great (sounds like you are so ready to party)

Katie

Congratulations on your 16kgs weightloss so far!

Sounds so interesting - your visit to the naturopath - I've never been to one...what/how do they test you for those things?

Seems to me that you are well and truly in the "zone" and keep up the amazing work!

Hi Shanara

Great diary and fab losses.

I am new to the forum, but have been inspired by everyone's diaries.

You and I have a similar goal weight and amount left to lose.

It sounds like you are as determined as me, and really committed to improving your health.

Good luck.

Delilah
