Be careful about too much water Ruby. When I was up around the 4l mark my consultant told me I could wash out essential electrolytes. he recommended upping your salt intake if you go over 3.5l.

I actually found that dropping it back a bit helped.

Unhappy not feeling so well anymore

Hi,
Well am at home today - feeling awfully weak and headachy
I felt like I had woken up with a migraine this morning (haven't had one for about a year), but am going to contact my clinic and see what they think. The last 2 or 3 days I have been feeling a bit 'off'... I wonder what's happening (NO I am not pregnant!)

I have the follwing 'symptoms' :
* dizzy, faint and nauseous
* screaming all over headache
* cannot get warm - hands and extremities are freezing
* have shoulder & neck pain, and aching around the back of my rib cage & top of my hips
* despite feeling really lethargic and exhausted during the day, I've been waking up really early in the morning - have been awake since 4.15am today (yesterday it was 5am) !!
* am starting to crave carbs again
* am finishing all my rice cakes and fruit by the middle of the day coz I'm feeling so hungry

Can people please tell me... are these the signs of refeed, or am I imagining it? Honestly, I haven't felt this weak and tired since about day 3 on the plan. Here's hoping I'm getting closer.

Anyway, a loss of 300g overnight, so now down to 59.1 kgs, which means I have officially lost 17kgs. Wow, I never really thought I could do it, secretly I was just telling myself that I'd be happy to lose 14kgs - but now I am nearly there... only 1kg off ordering refeed (I think), and only another 2kgs away from goal. And all in under 4 months! Amazing.

Sounds like a mixture of flu and refeed symptoms. I think having a chat to your clinic might be a good idea. How good would it be to be done before Christmas!

Just order it. Your blood test was not so long ago. At least you have it then. If it is TOM or the flu, you can always put it aside for a week or two, but by the end I was soooo desperate I was too scared to drive the car in case I blacked out. Best just to have it available.

OK. I will have a think about it & may talk to them today...
I just got out of bed to eat lunch...
Am also going to cut back on the water and see if my dizzy head improves. By Cohen's calcs, I should now only be having 2.4 L of water per day (Wt/25)... so will see how that goes today too.

Hi Ruby,
Quote:
only 1kg off ordering refeed (I think), and only another 2kgs away from goal.

I'm with the others - order it now !! You don't want to add another 3 - 4 days of this to "the time it takes to get back to you". Since you need to be "on plan" for 10 days (??) ahead of refeed, you don't want to be screaming hungry all that time.

Someone else had their clinic suggest adding x gms of protein and y grams of vege per day just to "hold out" if it all got too much. Talk to your clinic tomorrow Ruby...

And hey, that latest photo looks SO good, if you didn't get any lower in weight you'd surely be happy anyway, yes? You look GREAT

Hugs,

Koh

OK, spoke to the Clinic. The response was that I am getting CLOSE to ordering refeed!! My consultant suggested I wait until TOM has arrived/ passed (due to arrive sometime between Sun & Tues), and then see what's happening. She suggested that feeling cold and dizzy could be related to a sudden drop in blood pressue (and possibly the headache too), which is a sign that the body has had a BIG adjustment in a short space of time. This would make sense, as by my super scales at home, my body fat has dropped from 29% to just over 26% in just over a week. She certainly also agreed that feeling hungry & craving carbs was not a good thing, as this could lead to a deviation, which is not what I need at this stage. However, given that I was more of a savoury eater in the past, and not really a chocky girl, then the carb cravings may be saying that I am nearly ready for refeed, as the body is looking for more 'energy'. What do others' clinics say about this stuff I wonder?
So I will follow the advice given, and hang out til early next week. I will need another blood test though, as my last was on 3rd Nov.
New weight today = 58.9 kgs - down 200g o/n.

**58.3 kg**
WOW Shell you were right - the weight losses are really speeding up now. I've just managed to lose 600g overnight ?! and had been struggling to lose this amount in a week, not so long ago.
Seems that this is yet another sign of refeed "readiness"... as the body is doing its final adjustments.
Am feeling less dizzy today, on account of cutting back on the water I think, but the back ache is becoming excruciating - almost difficult to walk upright at times...
Am thinking that if I do happen to drop the next 300g or so overnight tonight, then I will consider having my blood test Sat morning, rather than wait til Mon or Tues... Just keep oscillating in my thoughts! Am so indecisive at the moment!!

Well done Ruby,
Can you get your blood test done today?
Then you will get your re feed quicker and have it ready for when you need to start.
You have 2 weeks from when you get your re feed and by the sound of it you won't be able to hold off that long!

I hope your back ache eases off.

Hey Ruby,

You should definitely order your refeed by the sounds of it, how exciting for you!

I have had some of the symptoms you describe like headache, back ache, I'm always cold (nothing new there). But I try not to read into symptoms and relate them to refeed as really it could be anything causing those things. I'm just going to soldier on until I get to maybe 53kg before I start my refeed. The dizziness you are having could be due to overloading on water so watch that.

We could be refeed buddies . Good luck!

Suzie
