You have me wondering now Ruby, as I have had a bit of backache (unusual for me) plus Ive been coming home from work so tired I would rather go to bed than cook dinner. I might be getting close as well. Ill be interested to see how you go

Wow Ruby!! You're so so close to the finish line, and soon you'll be joining us over at the refeed side of things. I remember that I did my blood test on a Sat and had the clinic order my refeed on the Mon, and by Fri, I was happily poring over it at home.
I don't think I had the symptoms you are experiencing but I did get some big drops in weight. Interesting how the body works, isn't it? Refeed is challenging in some ways. I seem to be putting weight back on after a few drops initially, but hey, I get to eat a banana-mango muffin tomorrow (one of Loulou's fantastic recipes) - how cool is that? Have a great weekend gal. |

Hi All,
No weighing in today - had brekky before I thought about it - so Mon it is. Louise - I'll be happy to have a refeed buddy 'on the other side' , as other buddies are either already there, or won't be there at the same time as me... Yeah, the backache has been awful. Seems like aching hip bones or kidneys for most of the day, but much worse upon waking in the morning. I have also been horribly missing any BM's for a week! - a bit like Justine, in the last few days of following the main program. However, the added bonus is that the weight has literally been falling off?! I've been losing as much overnight as it was taking me to lose in a week, not so many weeks ago! I am down at least 3.5kgs in under 3 weeks now, whereas it took me a whole month to lose 3.1kgs (in October). And Francesca, I have been reading your refeed diary religiously (along with Justine's), as I realise I'm going to need to get my head around a lot of info when it arrives! Thanks for popping in everyone, Ruby

Hi Ruby,
I hear you about the BM's, mine have been none existent for about 4 days!! And last night and today I have been incredibly dizzy. I think maybe our bodies are holding on to everything we eat now that we are approaching the end, I guess it figures it needs to keep anything it gets at this stage??? That's my theory anyway. Take it easy. Suzie |

Geez Ruby and SuzieQ...can you imagine your weight loss the day your body finally decides to let it all go!! Haha...I can just imagine you two jumping up and down as you mysteriously lose 2kg overnight.
Go girls, you are close to the end now! |

Ruby I have b een getting back and hip pain- didnt associate the hip pain with refeed system, just the back, maybe it is another symptom. I met with AJ today and she had the same type of backpain as me when she was ready for refeed! Interesting to see the way our body tells us to feed it!

HI Louise, SuzieQ & Chailee,
Thanks for your messages. I have now officially ordered my refeed, with the plan to meet with the consultant Thur week (4th Dec) and start the refeed program on Sat 6th... I'm now really hoping that it isn't too long (no more than 20 days), as I do still want to be done by Xmas day; and frankly, am a little nervous about possibly having to repeat days... but cest la vie - it's coming! Only a small movement of 100g since my last post, but I did have a not so good weekend. Bloody PMT !! hugs to all Ruby

Hey Ruby,
Well well....we are on the same page, I am planning to start my refeed on the 6th as well!! That is if I can shift these last couple of kg's . I want to be 53kg at the most when I start refeed but the scales are not my friend at the moment so I'm staying away until official weigh day. I just had TOM as well which didn't help. Anyway, we shall see, perhaps we will be refeed buddies after all. Suzie |

Hi Ruby,
Just sending you a . Make sure you aren't trying to go too low, leaving it too long before redfeed. Have a look in AJs maintenance diary about the discussion she and LouLou are having about maintenance and how they think they may have gone too low. I am still sitting steady at 58.5 - very interesting. I think I may have struggled if I'd pushed for the 55. I have totally cut out bread however. J |

quietly finishing this off...
Thanks J,
Yes, I have been wondering the same thing... I know that back in 2004, I was able to comfortably maintain my weight between 57.5 and 58.5 kgs... so in the end, I will be happy with that. I guess I am still using Dr. Cohen's numbers as a guide; despite the confusion over whether my shoe size is a 7.5 or more like a 7...? Oh the dilemmas of the world!! And 56kgs is my upper limit too - you'll see me goal weight of 56kgs still means a BMI a lot higher than others are aiming for. I am going to stick with my original plan for the next 9-10 days, and am planning to start refeed on Sat. 6th Dec. I can't get to it sooner, and have scheduled an appointment at my clinic (about an hour drive away), to go through it all with my friendly helper on the 4th. I am glad you have nearly finished, as it all seems to have sorted 'itself' into a comfy position for you. But I am sad that you'll be done & gone!! I will keep plugging away at it all, and hope to end up somewhere stable and comfy too. Take care mate Ruby

Hey Ruby,
I think the important thing is for you to be happy with the weight you finish at. I know Dr.Cohen sets the goals for a reason but if you aren't happy to go that low then don't, it's your body after all. You won't be far off that figure anyway. Just curious, how tall are you Ruby? Sounds like we have the same goal weight set, mine is 53-56kg and I'm 157cm tall, my shoe size is an 8 but I think my feet have shrunk in the past few months. Suzie |

I am 158cm tall and shoe size between 7 and 7.5, I am also a classic mesomorph - meaning I am very muscular (underneath!), and build muscle very quickly... so that's why I've abstained completely from any weight bearing or heavy exercise whilst on the plan - apart from a couple of weekly walks and a swim once a month or so.

Hey, that's cool, 53kg-56kg is my Cohen's weight range too I'm 162cm tall and shoe size is 6-6.5, but have strangely small feet. It's great to "meet" people who have the same goal

Hey Ruby,
It will come don't worry too much, I was the same and then BANG 1.8kg loss last week! You'll probably have a really big loss very soon, hang in there. I am quite muscular as well Ruby, I'm surprised at how muscular my arms are now I see them without the fat. I am planning to do pilates, walking, some swimming when finished. I used to to the weights thing but I'm over it and it puts the weight on as well due to muscle weighing more than fat. Chin up Ruby. Suzie |
