hey Katie!!
Shrinking woman!! I can't believe how close you are!!
You are the one who got me thinking about refeed too.... it's all your fault!! LOL
I'm not too sure I'll know when I'm ready, cause I don't know if I will experience the hunger like Asy describes. I remember AJ saying that she didn't experience it, cause she never really let herself experience it so wasn't able to recongise it (or something like that), yet she was ready for refeed. I think the main thing is to listen to your body and know what is right for you!

I'm not sure if the original BT has chol levels in it. I know my doctor remarked that my chol levels were all really good (I copy her in on my blood tests). Then again, I've had a fair few blood tests over time, so I have some kind of comparison. My last results I know chol was good too! Hope you get an answer on that one!

The between sizes seems to be my constant state, either that or sizing is so all over the place!!! I can really relate to what you say!

Hope you have a great trip, enjoy it, don't stress, and come back having relaxed and enjoyed yourself!

Vee

Katie, dont you just love those Drs. Mine had an argument with me over my age the other day, he was placing me 6 years younger than I was and I was assuring him I was not that age and he continued to argue. In the end it turned out his receptionist had put the wrong DOB on my chart!
They do your blood cholesterol on the first fasting bloods only. It is only a total cholesterol and they dont do LDL or HDL which are really necessary for it to be truly meaningful!

Give up beef?? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! That would make me a sad panda! I honestly don't know if the initial blood test covers the cholesterol count to be honest. Time to call the clinic, me thinks! I hope you don't have to give up beef. If you do, make sure you get your iron from elsewhere!
Stay strong and keep smiling, pretty lady! Not far to go now!

Hey Katie

Hope you have a good trip away.

Oh the cholesterol thing is a worry - perhaps do abit of research and find out what on plan does give that and cut back a bit - I think eggs are not great for cholesterol. Maybe it is just taking the chlorestoral part of your body a bit of time to catch up with the rest of body.

You are powering away - will be on refeed in a sneeze!

Hope you don't have to give up beef - I am finding I eat more beef than before as I am trying to keep iron levels up.

Enjoy the trip
Shanara

Hi all

Thanks for dropping by all you lovely ladies

Vee, hehehe SORRY!!! I won't mention RF again NOT lol. Soon and not to far away you will be seriously thinking about your RF. Prob sometime in January. Don't worry about the hunger pangs, just think of your hungry days x 10 (that should just about cover it)

Louise, wow 6yrs younger. That's much better than the other way around. Drs are amazing people in that they KNOW best, and what would we know even arguing about your Bdy amazing LOL Have just caught up with your diary and way to go hitting the 60's. Don't worry about the meltdown, it's a way to clear out ugly damaging emotions.

Mette, I have decided to cut down to 2 meals a week on beef. I have discovered baby spinach and eat that at least 2x a day. Hopefully that should fill in the iron gap.

Shanara, Dr said the 1 egg a day was fine and to try to buy the low chol ones. There is such confusing debates over eggs, fine one day, bad guys the next. Since I can't eat the yoghurt (triggers nasty cravings) and take it easy on the cheese (makes me retain fluid) sigh, I'll just have to chance it. I need the iron plus I have a highly physical job and beef supplies the stamina I need.

Well I'm back. Yay. Had a lovely time away. Got rained in, and stayed an extra night. That threw out my diet as I only took food to cover me till Fri lunch. Never mind. I made do and ate a lot of cabbage. Since it was a station, the only food in supply was meat, bread, eggs, onions, spuds, cabbage and baked beans. I did manage to source a tin of tomato paste with no additives and used a tsp of it to cover my tomato. Hoping that works ok, won't really know till Monday.

It was a wonderful time away from the city. I'm a bush girl at heart and enjoyed it. Was great to have to experiment and make cohen friendly meals. I was vy vy strong and resisted the scones and bickies I made for them all. Although they smelt yummy. I kept in mind my chip D and remembered on how bad I felt for so long. So finally on my way out, I was smiling like a cheshire cat. Hubby asked me what I was smirking about, so I told him. I was PROUD of my achievements. Which made the trip all that much better.

I did ring my clinic after my last post. Appar the initial BT does cover total chol but not the breakdown. My levels on that test were lower than the ones now. As I can't improve my diet much more, the clinic suggested I start to do slow easy walks around the block. I shall start that tomorrow.

Came back to wonderful drop of 1kg for the week. I am now sitting on 66.2 kg with a loss of 1.5". I'm hoping for more tomorrow, fingers crossed. Just a good pee away from 30kgs. Here's hoping I get that tom morn when I can relax a bit more. Had to work till midnight last night so that would have affected my drop Not to worry. Back to normal

Sigh, so much for short sweet messages hahaha

Hoping everyone is having a great weekend

Katie

Katie, good on you for being so good while you were away, not always easy when the smell of freshly baked scones tempts and the like.

good losses for the week- congratuations! refeed just around the corner!

they did a segment on eggs on that show "whats good for you" a while back. One person had lots of eggs and the other limited them. The one that had the most eggs had a drop in their cholesterol.

I hope you are down to 30kgs by morning, if not as you say really just a good pee away!

Enjoy being back home!

So glad you had a good time away, pretty lady! And you have every reason to be proud! I think you handled the food situation very well too!

I think the gentle walks might be a good idea. I'm going to do that more too now that my exams are over. Need some fresh air!

Here's some fairy dust to get you to the big 30!

Hi all

Thanks for dropping by Louise, Vee, and Mette.

Louise, it's been a long time since I had a scone. Still not quite at 30kgs, perhaps tomorrow !!

Vee, it was wonderful. I need to get away more LOL. I used to leave town every weekend and it soon became a chore. Now I can't and long for the days of when I can. Funny how ya want what ya can't have.

Mette, ty. Fresh air sounds wonderful. I started my gentle walk by shopping the main street Easy on the body, not so easy on the wallet.

Still sitting pretty on 66.2 kg. That's ok. I know my clothes are getting bigger so much so, I have to ditch the 14's and go straight into my 10s. Tried on 12s and just too big. Fit ok now, but won't for long. I hate wasting money

Well the dam has finally burst, and after a couple of good BMs I'm hoping for a good drop tomorrow (sorry Shanara more graphics) hehehe.

Emailed clinic today re refeed. I got back a fast reply first time EVER!! and she said I can order RF if I want. But on the proviso that I begin it in 6 weeks. Yikes I thought it was 2 weeks. As I'm not really all that ready, I don't think I will. What's the rush.

I been reading shells diary all the way. It was certainly a light bulb moment in reading one of her posts. (highly recommend if ya over this diet already). She went thru a stage of being over this diet, then realized this kind of eating is never over. Not if we want to maintain correctly. So that has given me more food for thought. It's true. We will always be on cohen's food (just more of it YAY!!)

Ok time for this little duck to get to bed. Hoping everyone has had a lovely day, and stress free.

Katie

Hi Katie

I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. The Refeed thing really had me in a flurry! But I'm back! And you are just rockin' it, girlfriend! So so so close. And you've hit the 30kg loss milestone too! CONGRATULATIONS!

My clinic told me that I could order refeed "early" as long as I started it within a month or so. I started refeed and ended refeed at the same weight so I think I made the right decision to start at the lower end of my goal weight range.

Guess these will be decisions you'll have to make as you get closer to the right side of your ticker! I believe your body will send you unmistakable signals once it's time.

Good luck chicky! Keep up the great work!

ok ok I get the hint, enough of the verbal diarrhoea

Shanara, I just got booted off halfway thru a long entry.

Hi all

Thanks for dropping by DD and Francesca

DD, 20kgs is nothing to sneeze at. Try lifting 4 bags of spuds. Well done for your achievements of date.

Francesca, wow you have finished. That's ok I have been reading your diary avidly and reading about your troubles. Well done for sorting it all out and finishing in style. Your a legend

Ok I'll keep this short and sweet, since I just got warned.

Had a wonderful drop tues nite of 500gm, putting me down to 65.5. Tho I am back up to 66.5 this morn. I just had a shower and stilled weighed the same so go figure. It's either my scales (evil things they are) or just my body sorting things out. I'm hungry so here's hoping another drop tomorrow.

Ok I'm gonna post this before it shuts again.

Happy fat busting days today

Katie
