Hey Faithy,

Thanks so much for your words in my diary.

I am blown away by your photo's, you look exceptional. It is no co-incedence that so many here are inspired by your journey and your words of support.

I am really glad you got the house you liked and it has more storage areas, to keep your work closer. You must be excited about moving in ( well except for the packing thing)

Connie

Hi Faithy,

Hey, are you vying with Asy for being the "#1 Master of understatement"? :P Look at this, people:-

Very telling, Faithy girl !!! And I think I also have a little bit of an idea that you know exactly how Penny is feeling, you little monthly weigher you.

Can I be the first to say "Yay, Faithy - you 70's chick you - go you good thing" (And, yes, I'm guessing - but I think it's a pretty good one, don't you? )

I know it'll be another 2 weeks before your ticker tells the story, but, by then you'll be within striking distance of the 60's !!!

Hugs,

Koh

Koh .. wink wink, nudge nudge :P... Awesome guess Koh .. With the Biggest Looser Challenge you may get to see my weight there somewhere.. it's weigh in again tomorrow morning.. YAYYY ..

Thank you Connie .. until today I have been feeling exceptional too :P.. but more on that in a second

Thanks Kelly .. that's awesome that I've helped you to feel inspired.. that's the wonderful thing about this program.. it IS for everyone AND everyone CAN do it .. Keep up your good work.. the rewards will show in no time.

Thank you Daisy .. you're looking pretty darn amazing by the way

Hey Penny .. LOL.. too funny, but so true.. my thoughts on Easter.. well I could go on forever :P...

Easter .. well.. I'm am a very spiritual person, I suppose religious, but I personally don't like that terminology.. I actually don't like religion, for various reasons.. but I do believe in the Father (God), the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.. so Easter, well the supposed meaning behind it, is very important to me.. however, the wonderful world of commercialism has taken away for many what the true meaning is.. & as a result has possibly, in my opinion, attributed some of us for being fat.
Of course we all at the end of the day choose what we do & do not put in our mouths, but pre-cohens I was totally clueless that I was a slave to cravings...

No matter what diet I have been on in the past.. I get to Easter & I nose dive BIG time.. I have NEVER been able to diet through Easter.. I just LOVE the chocolate too much.. & the hot cross buns.. just the smell of them in the oven sends my senses into a frenzy. Smothered in loads of butter of course..
I was one of those Mother's who would buy the egss or bunnies that my children had requested & hide them in my bedroom cupboard till it was time to bring them out.. BUT more often than not I would raid the cupboard & hope that a suitable replacement could be found the following morning. ... (I tell you, being fat is very expensive) (Cohen's including the fee is way cheaper in the long run, trust me)..

So this Easter I question myself, as I often do.. will this break me?? No.. this will be a first for me.. as this journey has been, a lot of firsts. It's exciting.. it gets my adrenaline pumping.. knowing that I am in complete control.. for once in my life... AND I am getting fantastic results..

OK, so Koh's guessed I am now a 70's girl :P.. on the higher end mind you.. BUT I still get all weird with this..
I went shopping with Hubby yesterday.. just window shopping really. My size 16 black pants are now way too big, so I'm thinking I would just try on a few different pairs of jeans etc in Target.. so I go for a size 14.. Hubby gives me a 12 with a grin.. I just look at him like he's crazy, but yeah OK.. I also take in with me a few tops.. size 14, cause.. well I dunno why..
I try on the tops.. too big, I try on a pair of size 14 jeans.. errr they're OK, then I try on another pair.. & they're OK too.. so then I think to myself, I'll just try the 12 jeans to see how long I have to go.. I GOT THEM ON!!!! And they looked awesome!!! What's with that??? Last time I weighed what I do now I was a 16.. I haven't been able to get a size 12 jeans on since I was about 13 years old..
The tops, well they were so big I reckon I'd be a 10.. but that is just a guess.

The move so far is going well. The stress has been something I could really do without.. but like everything else lately, I've been able to talk to myself & reason with myself.. like I have never been able to before.. the stress has caused me to be absolutely starving, but I've taught myself to realise that all it is is a sensation, a feeling.. I don't have to give in to it & it's not going to kill me.. I can now see why my consultant seemed a bit concerned for me with the timing of it all, but I won't let this get the better of me either....
All the cleaning, the packing, the weeding of the garden has made me feel really crap I might add. I've had to take numerous breaks from the constant head spins & feeling like I've hit a brick wall.. but still, even with all that, I have achieved more in a day than I did with the last move.. I had an extra person riding on my back last time & she's gone this time.. (& no Koh.. the thought of carrying my hubby on my back just makes me cringe.. he weighs about as much as I've lost.. oh & it's nice to for once be smaller than him :P)

So if (when) I get through this move & Easter without any deviations I KNOW I can get through anything...

I hope everyone has had (is having) a wonderful weekend XXX

Hello my Faithy girl

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA a 70's chick - woooooohoooooo groovy man I'm so happy for you - ya hottie!!!

I am not a religious person in any shape or form but I have to say for such a religious time the total commercialism is so distasteful. I mean, sheeez....they just about start putting easter eggs out as soon as new year is over - talk about shoving it down our throats. What chance has any mum or dad got when they get smacked in the face every isle they turn down with easter eggs and your little kids just staring up at the shiny bunny's or eggs or whatever creature they can come up with!!!

Thankfully my DD is not a chocoholic - I mean she loves chocolate but over easter she makes them last for months!!!

I will buy everyone the usual array of easter goodies but not go overboard and I will enjoy the smell of chocolate permeating the house as long as it lasts, but I shall not be tempted - so together Faithy we stand united - chocolate is for smelling not for eating!!!

Oooh someone kick the soap box out from under me

I am enjoying the weekend my Faithy.

cheers
Irene

Faithy,

Fantastic 70's...YEAH!!! You have come so far. It's people like you who keep me strong. I'm amazed at the strength and courage you have to keep going...sometimes it just feels like it's taking forever and I read these diary's and see what people like you have accomplished and say if they can do this then so can I. I don't know where I would be if not for this forum. You keep on plugging away at it even though you have had so many life changing things happen a long the way. You are truly an inspiration. You should feel so proud of yourself.

I can't wait to see your ticker ready 70's

Cindy

Thanks again Guys..

Just a quick hello.. am in the process of moving.. you know, the whole packing & cleaning thing.. *bleh*

I probably wont be online for the rest of the week.. apparently it takes 3 days to change the connection over.. who knew??!!

All I've been feeling is hunger & that kind of tiredness where you hit a brick wall & can't physically do any more.. I can really see now why a lot of exercise is not a good idea, unless the clinic has made extra food allowances for you.. I really can't wait till this is over. At least I'm sleeping well at night. I just hope my weight loss isn't suffering at all. When it's time for me to eat I'm ravenous & I'll sit there for about half an hour after I've eaten waiting to feel full & it's just not happening.. Oh well.. this too soon shall pass..

Happy weight loss week peoples.. You CAN do it

Wow you truly are incredible Faithy! I noticed your trepidation at Easter coming up in just over 4 weeks or so, March this year! So i went back to beg of your diary as i thought, how did you manage Easter last year? Looks like you may have actually started Cohens straight after Easter 2007? Is that right?

Either way, if you started before Easter 2007 then you have already succeeded! If AFTER, then this easter 2008 can be designated as the only Easter for the rest of your life that you stay 100% deviation free! Keep all thought of choc out of your mind and your nose! It is easier to NOT have any than try to just have a taste. I have never been a big choc fan but, trust me, whatever good taste it had before, it has gone for me, not worth the empty calories! Focus on nurturing your body with the foods that god provided, after all, it was a man (willy wonka?) who first created chocolate! Steer clear it is really a poison no different from arsenic!

You deserve this goal that is so very clearly in your sights! Chocolate is just not worth it! It is over-rated (along with bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, ice cream). You will be amazed after refeed at what does taste different and what you just cant even swallow! Pandora

oh and a note from Hexi was just added - come join the show pony club in comps section!

hey faithy, another great post by pandora, she's on fire at the moment aint she????

easter shmeaster i reckon......what on earth does choc have to do with the religious celebrations.....its a CONSPIRACY DAMMIT.....i have just googled easter and i found a sight that says that easter is actually owned by the nestle company .........kidding

but trust me there would be a link.....

anyway you wont have to worry cause you'll be busy settling into the new house and decorating the place and orientating your dogs to the local walks and hearing all the new sounds and meeting your neighbours and generally being so busy you wont care.

i definately wont be caring about easter.....easter who??

Hi Faithy,

Gee, you sound more stressed than usual - and your situation hasn't come up on here before - so, I start wondering:-

With you putting in extra effort during the move, (akin to "exercise" - but you CAN'T get out of this lot) would it make sense to eat a little more of what the good Doc has said you need (i.e. feed yourself, say, 10% more of what you are allowed).

As you well know, I am in no way "credentialled" to offer this as advice, so I'm not - but hey, when life gets in the way, and you HAVE to exercise, it would make sense - to me - to add just a few more calories to help out.

But hey, it's an open question to all you true Cohenites out there. What would YOU do? Does it make sense to fuel the body when unplanned exercise is called for, and unavoidable? What are the consequences if you don't add that fuel? Is it safer to "slightly increase" the food - or is it better to stay true (and perhaps hungry)?

Thinking of you, girl - may you get through this unplanned event with the same dignity and courage that you have displayed all along. And I hope the new home is all you want it to be,

Hugs,

Koh

mmm food for thought

i dont reckon its the move i reckon its the stress....moving is in the top three most stressful events one can experience.

its not just the inconvenience and the effort....its also the change to the memories....we hold lots of memories in our homes.

and you have to go through all your stuff, being reminded of events etc that took place there.

this is really opportunistic for you faithy to say goodbye to the old girl.....

as for the extra 10% how do you work that out and to me that would be a bit scary.
