Hi Shanara!

Getting exciting now approaching that first goal!! It certainly won't be long now!

You are doing so well! I would love to see you in Brissie or down the coast if you are coming up this way for a break! I'll probably be on a trip myself between Christmas and the new year, but other than that, I'm here in Brissie, just doing my everyday thing of work and more work during the week and then the usual weekend stuff, trying to forget about work and enjoy the weekend!
I sure would love to meet up with you and catch up! So let us know what your plans are!

Good luck getting that last assignment done! It sounds like you have it all sorted anyway. It's good to be so organised!

Keep well and keep on going and dropping those great numbers!!

Vee

Hi Shanara,

wow sounds like you are still going strong. The water aerobics sounds lovely. My dream is to start swimming after refeed to tone up.

Nothing like a good spring clean to boost the spirits. Who would have thought housework could make you feel so good.

And almost 20kgs. How fast has that been. You are just cruising on this diet. Well done

Katie

Well my Wednesday measure brings good news. A further 7cms gone so now mkes 47 cms all up. Not sure how accurate that is as some of the measures seem to go up and down. Guess its hard ot get the tape in exactly the same spot yet its OK - the general trend is down.

Down a furhter .6 to 116.1 - putting closer the the 20 kgs mark and I have realised I will be a forties girl in the not too distant future. Wow, some days I just can't believe this programme - to think how I have struggled in the past and now ZOOOOOOOOMMMMMM - I am moving.

Speaking of moving I put car in for service today and decided to pick up some calamari for lunch and walk home. Boy my feet and ankles did not like the extra weight of my backpack. Put it on the scales when I got home - 8 KGS - half what I have lost! No wonder they were complaining before.

Don't know if I have turned a corner on this programme or whether its the extra water - or getting back to aqua aerobics but I ma feeling really energised for the last few days. Perhaps it was my realxing weekend but since then have been cleaning out cupboards and everything.

Having a friend to lunch and going to cook her exactly the same as me - just not going to weight hers. Learnt from previously cooking people different things and they wanted mine. So Crumbed Calamari for us both - love it - think its Hexi's recipe - one of my favourites. Seem to get so many pieces of calamari for the weight as well.

Thanks for all the support everyone. I know I am coming up to a danger time when newness is wearing off and its possible to get a bit disheartened . keeping a watch out for that - so far ....so good.

DD - watch out woman - I am coming for you lolol. Oh so looking forward to catching up in Sydney

Katie - I find moving in water really fantastic and doesn't stress the joints. Oh I am so looking forward to seeing you move into refeed.

Vee - may well do - it will be either north or tasmania. On the other hand I could just stay home - feels good at the momment.

Michele - am putting my skates on - can't have you catching me!!

Maria - we sure will - success guaranteed!!

Ellabelle - you are so welcome and you so deserve any wisdom I am able to give. Look at you shine - refeed soon.

Oh dear guess i had better do some work

Shanara

Hi Shanara!

Glad to see that things are still moving down well for you. What great losses for the week! Yes, this journey can be slow and fast at the same time!! LOL

It's great you are feeling more energised at the moment! I guess the part where you say
Quote:
but since then have been cleaning out cupboards and everything
would be playing quite a big role as well as the rest, cause you are now making space for new things to enter! How exciting is that!

Wait till you have lost a bit more of your weight, like 40kgs and then look at trying to walk carrying something that heavy!! I nearly died when I discovered what a HUGE amount that was and that I couldn't even begin to be able to pick it up!!

You are doing so well! Watever you choose for your break will be wonderful and the best thing for you!

Vee

Hi Shanara,
You said about your ankles and joints feeling the pressure of your backpack and then finding you have lost double that amount. No wonder we were dragging our poor bodies around before with all that weight. Good incentive to keep up the good work. And yes get those skates on girl because I'm breathing down your neck. haha. I can't possibly let you get too far away from me, now can I? Have a great day.

mmm... how was lunch? Delicious I'm sure!

Congrat's on 47cm all up - that is wonderful

Isn't it amazing when you pick up something that weighs what you lost! Such a good feeling to know you're not carrying it around anymore.

Hi Shanara,

You've been around a week or three (?) so you may already know this - but I wanted to respond to your quote as it is a point often missed:-
Quote:

One point, not often mentioned, is that the fat soon to be lost becomes "more liquid" prior to leaving - then gravity plays a part too - consequently, you may find your waist (for example) might GAIN cms prior to having a big loss of cms.

Maybe you really aren't so "inaccurate" after all .... And yeah, the general trend certainly is down, despite the occasional UPward swing (on both cms, and Kgs) The up's are minimal - the down's are massive (or, at least, convincing )

Hi Shanara,
Your going great. I'm glad you mentioned about the measuring because I thought I just sucked at it. Koh had a great explanation on why so now I'm more at ease with it also. Have a great day.

Well today am craving vegemite - yes vegemite on toast. Woke a couple of nights ago hungry and started fantasising about it and had to stop because I actually wanted to get out of bed and get it - realised that was dangerous. I thought its supposed to be summer here - Sydney is so cold today I want something to warm me up.

Its Official - son is defintely changing schools next year and staying living with his Dad. I am sad and yet also very happy. Pressure is off. And once it was decided he is now talking to me again. Guess he knows where he had to be.

Gorgeous, DD and Koh - I did not know that but it is my waist that has increased 1 cm - thought I also just sucked at measuring. Thanks Koh sometimes I look in the mirror and can see that the fat is melting - from the top down!

Ellabelle - lunch was perfect - she loves Cohens foods too and said she should eat like this all the time. She was amazed at how tender the calamari was.

Vee - lots of space for new things ...

Have a great Cohens day everyone.

Shanara

Shanara I was having a promite craving the other day, I had forgotten about it until I read your post and now Im think - yes it would be nice!

Good on you for cooking cohen friendly food for your friend!

I know what you mean about the backpack, when I did my recent 4 day hike I had a back about 20kg on my back, going up mountains. I remember thinking I was pleased it was on my back and not on me anymore!

Even I didn't know that about the measuring! See, you always get to learn something useful on this forum!

Glad you have heaps of space again Shanara! I think I need to have a big cleanout as well! I could do with more space too!

Also glad to hear things have been worked out with your son's living arrangments. It may be good for you all to have such a change!

Good on you for not giving in to that craving. It sounded pretty intense!
Wow, you are freezing in Sydney and we were melting here today in Brissie. Then had a huge storm so things have cooled down a bit.

Keep going well!

Hi Shanara
just wanted to drop by and say how well you are doing ... powering ahead on the 10kg challenge and leaving us all in your wake! fantastic job. I dont know how old your son is but the communication is everything with teenagers - so moving away and starting talking sounds like a great option to me. The relationship can only get stronger. And sometimes them choosing a path gets the conflict out of the way and you can get on with life.
Anyway have a great weekend - look forward to seeing your final 6week weight on saturday

Wow Shanara, not long to go and you'll have 20kg gone forever!

I'm glad things are going better with your son. It sounds like there were some tough decisions made and at least you are communicating again. It's never easy but so worth the effort in the long run.

Hi Shanara, I have lost now 7kg coming up to my first official weigh in this tuesday so Im am hoping for 10 so see what happens...

(Oh I saw you were craving vegemite.. but you need more vit b as that is what vegemite consists of and vit b is what helps us metabolise fat, protein and carbs and energy and stress.. Its in our multi but some people need more and if you check with you consultant I am sure it wont hurt... Or double your dosage of multi is what I have done... works a treat.)

Dont worry we will be here to keep you motivated and support you. I to am worried when the novelty wears off but I keep telling myself that this is my life now to get on with...

We can all do it... Glad to hear family things are settling... Specially when some pressure is off it seems you can then have another part of you sorted... I have a few step sons living at home and they are teenagers now so its been fun and games....

Anyhow heres to more kgs off for both of us and feeling fabulous and foxy!!!!
