DAY 4
Starting weight: 65.4kg
Today's weight: 65.0kg
Total change: - 0.4kg

Nothing much interesting today, the only change being a slight increase in the old protein and veg. I was up 200 grams this morning, but I'm not worried. I have a feeling I'll be up during the week and down on the weekend due to the sleep thing. I feel a lot better though, no bloating or cramps, so I'm thinking I made the right decision in leaving the bread well enough alone.

Thank you so much for stopping by Koh, Vee, Ceb, AJ, Honeybuns, Kath and Jo and anyone else reading this!

Kath - Valarium, you say? Interesting. I swear I read Valium the first time Do you get it at health food shops?

Jo - No lavender for me! I used to work in cleaning at a hotel years ago, and they had so many lavender cleaning products and since then I've hated the smell! And yes, rice and pasta will come in eventually on the refeed. Only tiny portions, but it's one of the things that I'm really looking forward to!

Honeybuns - thank you so much for the cheering! You always make me smile!

Koh - I have no doubt that my tummy would have been very upset with me if I had tried to put something like that birthday cake in it! I'm not saying I will never have birthday cake again, but I was very happy that what I wanted was my pineapple, not the cake!

Vee - maybe I should try the meditation cd. I tend to listen to audiobooks instead - Terry Pratchett at the moment - and maybe I follow the story too much so I don't fall asleep? I hope you get to order your refeed soon too!

Ceb - from your mouth to God's ear! I would like to drop a little bit more so I'm actually within my range Thank you so much for returning and supporting me through refeed!

AJ - I think you might be right, the additives in the bread might be what made me feel awful. Maybe I'll try some homemade bread later on. It's not critical though. Since Keith doesn't like bread, it wouldn't be something we'd have in our house, except for special occasions.

Take care of yourselves! Big hugs all around!

If you do make your own bread I'll be interested to know if the effect is different, Mette. Be sure to buy standard flour and not the bread mixes. Personally, I've been convinced by Cohen's that I'm much better eating food with none of the additives that are in almost everything processed these days.

You can find Valerian among the vitamins at the supermarket.

My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hi Mette
Firstly congratulations on reaching refeed - I found refeed daunting from an organisational aspect but pretty great in all other respects - seeing how you react to different foods and quantities is really interesting.

Secondly - thanks for dropping by my refeed diary - I really appreciate it.

Thirdly - the pineapple. I'm with you - I had pineapple as my first good fruit and it tasted fantastic. I was sending text messages singing it's praises.

First - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!...I'm sorry I'm sooo late... I am just catching up now.
Soooo cool to listen to you have all the new food and still losing weight!!!!!!!

I'm soooo happy for you Mette, really am. And AJ, wow - I forgot how good blueberries in yogurt can be...and mmmmm...pineapple in yogurt...Mmmmm...

Mette, you did incredible job.
I ordered refeed today, hope to join you soon!!!!!
I do wish to have some of your stamina in the end...

Enjoy every single day and I agree with AJ - I would try some really good bread, because eventually you will have it and this IS the best time to reintroduce new food to your body.
And ENJOY every bite!

Hi Mette,,

Hey so sorry I am a bit late catching up on your refeed diary.

Huge congratulations, Mango Queen!

Am finally home - got back last night so am slowly catching up. Have to confess I have spent most of the day sleeping - seems like first day since before Christmas that I just slept rather than doing something. Mette the pineapple sounds wonderful. Do you get blueberries - that's what I am missing.

One thing that has really helped me on this programme is something AJ said when she had her first coffee with milk and found she didn't like it anymore. She had found her tastes have changed so I think we are all relearning what our bodies actually like rather than what our eyes and head like. Sounds like oyu are experiencing something similar.

Anyway dear one - now that I am home again perhaps I can cook you that meal and would be happy to do that soon. You would also be welcome to stay the night so you have to do one less commute!

Blessings
Shanara

DAY 5
Starting weight: 65.4kg
Today's weight: 64.8kg
Total change: - 0.6kg

Back down to 64.8 today, happy with that. No real change in the food apart from an increase in the old veg and old protein. Tomorrow I get to add another new good fruit, so I'm thinking I might get some plums. Plums and pineapple. That's a good treat!

Thank you so much for stopping by AJ, Sirrocco, Vee, Maya, Hexi, Shanara and Liddie and anyone else reading this. I really appreciate your support!

Well, the food part is easy, life less so. Well, I shouldn't complain, that's a really silly and ungrateful thing to do. It's just that the commuting is getting to me. I feel like all I do is race against time, and all I do is eat, sleep, work and spend time on the train. And I'm just so tired and I can't sleep properly. I'm going to try to get some valarian and see if that helps. I guess it doesn't help to be in a frustrating working environment where there is no training and no feedback. At least it's only for 5 more weeks. I just have to do it 27 more times and then I can spend a week with Keith.
And at least the job means I get some money coming in, and while I'm on the train, at least I'm not spending any, right

Big hugs all around!

Sorry to hear that life is so stressful, Mette. In the past that's just what would have made you head for fattening food. It's tough doing refeed without the proper time to devote to it.

You're handling that stress like a true champ, Mette!
It is bearable when you know it is temporary, so just hang in there and it will be over soon!
Plums sound fabulous, so long as you like them! I'm glad to see that you are still dropping some weight while on refeed.
Keep on refeeding and enjoying the process!

hiya Mette, hang in there if its only 27 more times with travelling... Look how quick it went for you to get to refeed... (which your doing awesome by the looks of it.)

Enjoy the pineapple and plums and keep smiling.... Your amazing to do what you have done with getting to refeed and all and still having the time for all of us also whilst all the travelling you do...

We love you... hope the valerian works. Takes atleast 4-6 weeks to kick in being a herb, put it with magnesium before sleep is nice and if you need add a homeopathic sleep tonic such as sleep well martin and pleasnant to help it work faster.. (or just try that to help your bod adjust naturally and get back into better sleep patterns...If you need a hand with how to take etc. let me know been in the industry for over 15 years... sssshhhh dont tell anyone... LOL )

DAY 6
Starting weight: 65.4kg
Today's weight: 65.2kg
Total change: - 0.2kg

I love the love on this forum! Thank you so much for your support CC, JJ, Shell, Tara, AJ, Vee and Maria, and anyone else reading this! You have no idea how much I appreciate it! I wish I had the energy to visit all the diaries today, but I'm exhausted. I will get there on the weekend, I promise! And I will take the time to respond more fully to your entries too!

Foodwise, a very satisfying day. The increases in protein and veg are now at the level where my body feels very happy. Up 400 grams this morning, but I'm not worried. Still not over the weight I started at, so that's a good thing. And I now get two new good fruits, and I really enjoyed my plums and pineapple! YUM!

Workwise... I feel like my brain has been sandblasted! It was so hectically busy today. Maybe people finally woke up after Australia day and decided to start calling us. At least it meant that time went quickly, which is good. Only 26 more times now! Not that I'm counting or anything.

Time for bed soon, I think. Didn't have the chance to get valarium. That, too, must wait till the weekend.

Big, fat-melting hugs to you all!

Hi Mette, great to see your on refeed!!! Looks like your body is coping quite well with the changes in food amounts so far. I am still 3kgs away....just not losing the last little bit, but will no doubt be joining you very soon. Keep up the amazing work and you will be with Keith sooner than you know it. I'm lucky, I live in a regional part of Australia so my commuting is not an ordeal for me, just a 15 minute drive to work for me along the Esplanade overlooking the beach and Fraser Island, so tomorrow when I am driving to work, I will think of you on that rattly, smelly train pulling into those drab depressing stations Sydney suburbs have to offer and hope you get to your destination as happy and refreshed as I do each morning. Have a great day, at least it is Friday tomorrow and you can relax on the weekend (unless you are a shift worker that is!!) Hugs to you

So glad to hear the food is more filling and you are feeling more satisfied! So long as there is no more hunger or back pain or anything like that, it has to be good! Those little gains are interesting, but happy to hear that you are still below your starting weight!

Have a great sleep tonight and get lots of rest this weekend!
