Hello Louise

Congratulations on reaching the Top of the Faraway Tree!

It really is the land of magical rainbows up here, where nothing is as it seems but all is reality.

30 kilos is a heap of weight, and you are still coming to terms with it. I couldn't keep the smile off my face when I had finished in 2006 and I am sure that you are beaming, too.

At the end of this magical journey we come to an even more magical place, the place of Refeed. Refeed is like those amazing gob-stoppers at the top of the Tree - the more you suck them, the bigger they get and then poof! they dissapear altogether.

We have lost this weight, and now we start to eat more, and more, and more food, yet continue to lose weight, and it is eating more food which helps us to stabilise the weight.

This is real magic.

Best wishes for the journey ahead. May the clouds always turn at the top of the Tree and present you with amazing new worlds to explore.

Lotsa love
Kristine

I'm jealous! I wish I had further losses too! Oh well, I think my body is where it needs to be, happy between 64.8-65.2. Going great guns, pretty lady! Just always remember to listen to your body rather than your mind, because your mind will play tricks on you!

Smile Day 4 refeed

Day 4 today

Weight 66.2kgs another 100gms down overnight (thats 1.8kgs in 3 days!)

I got to have 4 pieces of fruit today what a treat! 12 days to go yeah!!!

If I have an overnight drop I will hit the big 30 tomorrow!!

Survived the night without getting a cyclone so thats always good, but couldnt get to my appointments today due to flooded roads and I think it will be the same story tomorrow - no point fighting it, I can only do what I can do!

Shanara, you are so kind with your comments! and it has been my pleasure to share this journey with such a wonderful group of people! I think you are right, timing is everything.

Vee, yes we have to have faith in the program, they do seem to be onto something here!!!!

cc, it seemed such a short time ago that refeed was just a dream for me and here I am in the wonderful ladn of refeed!!!

Tara, this girl is happy thank you - and I hope the weather is cooling down for you donw there!

AJ, what ever the reason stress etc, thankgod I finally started refeed is all I can say, I should have done it a month ago because until I started refeed my wieght hardly budged for the last month! I must say I have been having a very restful time at home of late, due to all the rain.

Mette dont be jealous, Im sure your body is exactly where it should be, I am really hoping to get to 65, but if I dont I wont be unhappy

Kristine the view from this faraway tree is indeed fantastic, I can see wonderful views to the future that are very inviting and exciting, but then I dont have to tell you that!

Ill just dance over to a few more diaries before I go and prepare my dinner

1.8kgs in 3 days!! OMG!!
I can see why you are saying you should have started refeed weeks ago. At least you've started now and it's all going good!

Wow, weather sounds turbulent, glad you can get some rest at home in the meantime!

4 fruits!!! You lucky thing!! Enjoy them!

Vee

Default Day 5

Day 5

weight 66.2kgs no change today.

I am amazed at the stability of my weight. Even on the program I had daily fluctuations but since refeed it has only gone down.

Feeling food, awoke feeling hungry so really enjoyed my fruit and yoghurt!

I just noticed that my refeed program jumps from 1 slice of bread to 3 and doesnt have a day with 2 slices, i am wondering if this is a mistake, anyone reading this who has done or is doing refeed I would be interested to hear if you had a 2 slice day?

Its pelting down rain, The roads are blocked north, south and west - east is obviously the sea! I had appointments 100kms to the south today so just finished cancelling them! Im currently not even sure if I can get out of my driveway! The lovely billabong at the back of my house is really full, it has come up to within a metre of my back boundary. Im not concerned about flooding as my block is much higher and it is just lovely to have it full. My bigger concern is the lake to the side of my house where developers have been playing around. It is getting a bit too close to my house for my liking. They have cut the top off the ridge and created a lake!

Vee by the looks of your weight you will be having 4 fruits yourself very soon! Yes lots of rest - enforced rest, lucky I have a huge verandah or I might be going stir crazy!

Perthwoman, thank you for your support, the scales teetered on the 30kg this morning, but then didnt quite make it. But might I say when you can feel mainly bones and very little fat on your body, it doesnt cause the same concern, however I think it would be nice to get to a nice round 30. I watched a show on tv with someone with anorexia and it made me think Im just in a really nice place right now.

Thank you Lili, I must say it is nice to have a bit more food to pad out the snacks and not have to ration everything quite so much. I used to find I would really suffer if I had my fruit in the morning and had no fruit snack in the afternoon, now I can have fruit for breakfast, morning and afternoon tea and dessert - what a treat!

Have a great day everyone, I wish I could send some of this rain down to you folks in the south who are experiencing heatwaves and fires.

I rang the clinic apparently refeed programs always go straight from 1 to 3 slices of bread!

Hi Louise

Yes, please, send rain!

I am in Melbourne and we have lost really large trees last year and this, and even the succulents in the garden have crisped up in the last week.

Regarding the bread, remember that everyone's program is different.

Notes in my refeed program emphasise that bread is optional. Many people react quite badly to bread. My program did increase the bread 1, then 2, then 3, but for example, I don't get the alcohol option until Day 14: 1 Alcohol = 1 Bread.

Someone recently queried that they had the Alcohol option on Day 2!

Anyway, you are way past Bread now. I had the Carbohydrate day yesterday, but had run out of bread so ended up with 1 Bread, 4 Crispbread, 1 Carbohydrate. Today I weigh a tad less than yesterday.

My basic program was 3 Fruit and 6 Crispbread, I am now up to 5 Fruit. The complexity of the program is one of it's most interesting factors. I wouldn't think that your program had a 'mistake'.

Enjoy the rain!
Kristine

Thank you Kristine I would be very happy to send you some rain, I just heard that my home may soon be cut off from town - mind you Im pretty happy at home, might just venture out and get a few supplies.

Thank you for you feedback on the program I dont get alcohol until day 14, but it doesnt bother me as Im not much of a drinker. I am however looking forward to having a biscuit, I have been thinking about what sort I will get! I hope that weather settles pretty soon for you, its not good when the suculents are getting crisp. I was just looking at my succulents thinking they are getting wet feet!

I had two 2-bread days, Louise. As Kristine says, all the refeeds are different.

We planted some drought tolerant plants last year that look like someone lit a fire next to them. Some of the leaves are still quite healthy, on the side where the wind was coming they from look like they've been burnt as a result of our heat last week.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

I hope you don't wash away with all that rain, Louise!
You're doing so well! I still find it fun to notice the little differences in the refeed programs, I don't get alcohol until day 17 on my program. They seem to be taking baby steps with me, and I have to say I like it that way. You know, I thought I'd be excited at the thought of a biscuit, but I'm really just looking forward to finishing so I can change my bad fruits back to good fruits! I loooooove my pineapple!
Keep dancing, pretty lady!

Hey Louise

Still have a backyard?? You guys are getting is bad at the moment and they are taking about it reforming tomorrow. Silly me, I thought that I was supposed to get that cyclone. Send it down to us, OK? Well, the rain.........not that windy stuff.

5 fruits, all I can say is .......bring on refeed. I have really been craving fruit for the last few days, since I started eating peaches actually. I could so easily go another piece or two. I could live without the bread and the alcohol though.

For a really daft question..............do we ever get sugar or soy sauce back??? I don't know if I can get through winter without cups of tea or hot chocolate. Yeah, I know, straight to the hips

Take care honey, you are doing great

Jo

Hi Louise
I had 3 days in which i had 2 slices of bread. Like AJ said, refeeds are different and i've heard of others that have jumped from 1 to 3. Then again your program is shorter, so a jump somewhere would be expected. Have a great refeed.

Still pelting down with rain here! It is making the ducks happy, though Ive had the scrub turkeys sheltering under my pagoda and seen the kookaburras trying to dry out between showers. Someone even ran over a 2m crocodile on one of our main roads this morning. I bet they got a real shock- its obviously too wet in the river for even the crocs. I have crocs in the creek at the end of my street so certainly wouldnt be paddling in the billabong down the back, Im glad i have a croc proof fence around my back yard.

Jo, there is no chocolate or sugar on refeed however once you go onto maintenance you can eat some of those things. They obviously dont recommend you go back to your old eating habits but you can eat anything you want- just not all at once - lol. They also give you guidelines about watching your weight and making sure you deal with any weight gains while they are minor. The only sugar on refeed in a a plain biscuit. My maintenance does discuss the way to have some cheescake and chocolate mouse - yum - look forward to a bit of that. Yes we are getting webbed feet and it is still coming down!

Mette I bought a pineapple yesterday but I am waiting for it to ripen, I can have my first bad fruit today so I might have some watermelon after dinner. I dont care about the alcohol, but that biscuit might be nice, still contemplating what sort to buy - I have a week to think about it.

AJ I dont think some of these so called drought tolerant plants are as drought tolerant as they make out- just a bit less water hungry than some fo the others. I jump up to 3 slices of bread tomorrow - this will be interesting, I got some really nice bread today and Im looking forward to indulging tomorrow!

I

louise it sounds like the rain is melting away the last of your excess weight! and what a different experince you're having to life in canberra. we haven't had rain in months and months, my veggie patch is frying in the 38 degree heat and the only crocs around are the kiddie ones floating in the bath.

so glad that refeed is fantastic petal. you'll be hitting that 30kg mark any minute now. cc

Day 6

66.7kgs up 600gms

I was up a lot earlier than usual which may account for some increase. I have 3 slices of bread today - thats a bit scary!

cc Our experiences are certainly very different, wish i could send you some rain.

Must get to going, not cut off from my appointments today, but a slow trip to town through the detours and potholes!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey Louise

Watermelon - yummo, I imagine that it is very watery melon at the moment

Send some of that rain down here, we could use it.

I know I can't go back to being a chocolate piggy EVER but I would love to get soy sauce back. I wonder if we can have artificial sweeteners.........must drink tea in Winter.

Keep up the great work darlin'

Catcha
