Emma has a point, how often are we weighing in? I weight myself everyday but am happy to just post fortnightly...

Re: SHOW PONIES RACE TO THE FINISH LINE
I don't think it matters how often we weigh but maybe we should have to report in at least once every 2 weeks...

Perhaps Pandora can give us a pm to tell us to weigh in again (although I'll move my ticker when it goes down - serial daily weigher )

Re: SHOW PONIES RACE TO THE FINISH LINE
And a warm welcome to a "late runner" but a real sprinter (long legs and all!) We now have Penny in the race!
As far as how often to weigh in - up to each person. The daily weighers (i.e. true show ponies!) can do that and each day i can update a "results to date" list - so Emma if you only weigh in 2 weekly then you will be recorded as n/a (not available) until you are able to update info. I reckon the lost to date "daily results" will be extra power and motivation as it will be only one more day, then one more day, etc, to see the constant changes to the "leader"! Another reason i have thrown my hat in the ring is, to avoid refeed i will be aiming to drop the 3.5kg in the first 14 days - should be easy enough and that encourages everyone to aim for numbers around the 1.5 - 2kg mark. Why not? Gotta have something to aim at! I just had my weekly Food for Fitness consult with my personal trainer and she asked what my goal is for next 7 days. I told her about the show ponies comp and that i am in it to melt off 3.5kg in 2 weeks etc. She will keep me accountable AND has agreed for me to do treadmill, pilates, balance, etc for next 14 days so no full on cardio. Actually, i weighed in at the gym 1.00 pm today, fully clothed and AFTER lunch and was 53.5kg but my ticker weight is my first a.m. weight, naked! I will also now update my ticker to my actual weight as no longer in the 40's (for now). And finally, i have been blabbing all over this forum to anyone who would listen who cant stop deviating or finding it hard to get back on track - that - its cos they are not in the zone, sugar in system etc etc. Well, i realised i CRAVE getting back there too as i have been having a few wines here and there. I love the challenge of 100% deviation free, woohoo! Neeeigghhh! Come on fillies (and Koh?) Easy to track his progress!!! |

Hey Pandora how will we compare losses? By kilos/time or by percentage of weightloss? Over to you whip lady! Hey I think Pandora needs her own smilie - the skinny version of her cracking a whip

Re: SHOW PONIES RACE TO THE FINISH LINE
To be fair, it will have to be as the Biggest Loser does it, that is % weight loss. We have a range from 11.8kg to 16kg recorded. Also, I know Irene is aiming for the low end of goal at 52kg so she could start refeed at 55kg which would mean 13kg and not 16kg etc. At least one other said aiming for top end of cohen goal etc. Also, if Faithy does join in she now has only 10kg to go.
However, to keep up the momentum, i will start off tomorrow, recording a list of ANY loss to date, like a "leader board" so that can run every day there is a change. Then, every Tuesday i can do the % thing and list that as the TRUE BAROMETER for who dares wins this race. There are a lot of different factors involved here such as : age (it is a fact that the younger ones lose quicker as not so much out of balance) total weight to lose (so journey so far) top end or bottom end of cohen range (as above) Once the first person gets to refeed, % recorded, the rest can continue till all are over the line and on refeed! Lets JUST DO IT and fine tune the rules as we go along and as needs must! whats wrong Hexi, dont you like my romper stomper kiltey man smiley Baloo made for me ? |

Ok we will leave the rules and 'winner' decision in your capable hands Pandora - nah the stomper man doesn't suit you as much as the whip lady!
As for Bibabs welcome aboard!

Re: SHOW PONIES RACE TO THE FINISH LINE
Oh I put this in my dairy but thought I would add it here
BUGGAR - unintentional deviation I figured out that I had more than my fair share of tomato today! It's funny because I am much more conscious of everything I am putting in my mouth...I think I have been getting a little lax about coffee allowance, diet coke, limits on onion as well as herbs and spices and exact timing of crackers. The show pony comp has got me thinking about all these things again - not that I didn't I just went through the day without really assessing these smaller things of the program! Just wondering for those of us who have been on the program for a while - are you finding you are a bit more 'relaxed' about these things too?? Common truth girls and guys? It is better to start to look at the program to the 'exact presciption' especially this end part of the journey and stick to this 100% - deal?

Re: SHOW PONIES RACE TO THE FINISH LINE
Yip you are so right. When I was following the "borrowed" plan I got a bit slack, then when I was given my new own plan, I was very aware again.
Then someone told me to read my program often ( the information bit) and guess what aftersupposedly being deviation free for a month I realised I was having way too much onion. So it just shows you how you miss and forget things, so maybe the answer is to at least once a week take the program and read through it.

Re: SHOW PONIES RACE TO THE FINISH LINE
Yeh the other thing I find an 'easy' deviation is the artificial sweetners especially if I have some in my yogurt I seem to run out before the end of the day I'm good with my water but at times can be 15 min out of the 5 hour range...
I find if I have crackers with meals I really miss them as snacks and seem to get hungrier... what else...let me see; sometimes I let 1 or 2 gms slip when weighing my veg or protein - so no I guess I am not the non deviation angel a lot of people think I am... then there has been a few occassions where I have had cheese more than 3 times a week! A few times I have had a can of 'normal' diet coke and I have also had 'non Cohen' approved artificial sweetners when out and about. A few times I have bought meat that hasn't been really, really lean. So I draw Deb's line ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And start again with 100% (even to the tinniest winniest detail - follow the program) and tonight I am going to read every single detail of my program and get back that FULL COMMITMENT I had at the beginning of the journey...yep I am going to be ANAL about it but this thread was just what I needed to really revisit the program again and get into it more than 100%
