I started Cohens on 27 May, 2007 completed at goal 19 December, 2007. I lost 31 kg... the same 31 kg I had been trying to lose for 40 years since age 11. I was mentally , physically and emotionally exhausted by the time I found Cohens. I, to this day, pretty much stick to Cohens food and (slightly increased) portion sizes. I have hit a few difficult patches where I gained up to 4 kg above my goal weight...and I now fluctuate within 2 kg of that weight..it is where my body wants to be apparently, no matter what I do. So I have to be resigned to that but I am determined never ever to go back to what I was. Maintenance works , and for me , some of the time, it's bloody hard, but I am not giving up. Thank you for this post. I am doing Cohen's for the second time and agree 100% if you do not get your head right, get out of the victim mode of "poor me, why can she eat whatever she wants and I can't". Realise thin people are thin, because they do not have an emotional attachment to food and they have a healthy relationship with food (not to mention most people work at keeping their bodies in that shape or form) and understand our emotional food triggers and accept that we have to continue with this for life ..we are never going to succeed at maintenance.
