Oh DC, sounds like you had a really hard weekend. As I was reading through I was thinking to myself "she's broken the diet, what has she eaten?" etc - I thought it was a confession but you DID IT!!! You didn't break or give in!
You should be so proud of yourself. At this rate, you will be in that size 12 dress before you know it and so glad you did this. Full steam ahead!

Oh DC,

Big hugs from me too! well done, You got through it! I too had a moment where I thought 'can I really do this?' and I believe I can do anything at all, anything! I have been on the bigger side for my whole life and only obese since I left school. I am a major emotional eater and I think this journey, for me, is more about dealing with them. the food isn't too much of a problem, I still get very temped but dont really want it.

the shame of getting ourselves to where we were when we started this program is a natural process, just some hit it harder than others.

I am day17 today and I feel like I have been cleaned out. I had to cook yummy food on the weekend and I had to stay out the front, away from the food, because it discusted me to think about putting that in my nice newly cleaned out body! hehe

you have done an amazing job for your first week.

Hi DC, you really have been tested this weekend ....but you came through it all!!! In a short while you will see the results of your determination, no more crying because you have to be on this program - only cheers for being someone who recognised a need to change and is doing something about it - there are still so many people out there who are doing nothing but complaining about their weight!!!!

You made a decision to change your lifestyle.......... and that's great...... be nice to yourself and take care......Caro

I agree with Jazzi. You've done a whole week and imagine how much your body is already loving it and how clean it is. Its a bit like cleaning your house!! You wouldn't walk through it with dirty shoes after you've spent ages cleaning it

This journey is going to be a very emotional one and use those feelings of being ashamed to motivate you. I can relate to it 100% and I bet you everyone else here can as well. Just know that you are doing the best thing for yourself and as much as it feels like you can't have any treats now you will be able to have some of the things that you enjoyed previously. Have a read of the maintenance diaries. It won't be like this for the rest of your life.

Use the forum for support as we all know exactly what you are going through.

Thanks Caro & Violet. You're both right, and I really appreciate the support. It's hard for others to understand exactly how it feels, so it's so comforting to know that I have you all.

Smile Daisy Chain's Personal Diary

Day 8

I'm feeling much better today, had a good 'lazy day' at home yesterday curled up with a book and have refocused again for the week ahead.

Even though it took me quite a few hrs, all my veg is cut up and bagged and so is all my meat. I also have them all layed out in the fridge in order of day and meal. I think that it will make it a lot easier now that I don't have to chop and grate and measure every night of the week, so that's making me happy!!

I had the best dinner I've ever had last night! MMMM!! Still makes my mouth water thinking of it!
I've never eaten Feta before, and my sister is a cook so she showed me on the weekend how to cook a few things I'd never normally eat (like mushrooms and Feta) so last night I roasted capsicum, tomato, mushrooms and then when they were nearly done crumbled some Feta over the top to bake it at the end.
Well!! It was the YUMMIEST thing - my goodness!! I had it with my last two crackers and really enjoyed it.

I know it's only a once a week thing, but it was so nice to finally enjoy eating some cheese again, and also to eat mushrooms (which I haven't liked before) so win win.

My sister also knows what foods I can have now so she's going to think of some other ways I can have things which is exciting. I need all the help I can get!

Have a lovely day all!

You're so welcome guys, will keep you posted as she comes up with more ideas for me, hopefully you can try some.

She also gave me the idea for minced chicken balls (little baby ones) they were yummy but I've seen similar in the receipes section so won't put it on here again.

Today's lunch was a new version of chow mein, cabbage, zucchini, tomato, mushrooms and beef mince with a small amt of curry power (about half a teaspoon) and it's yummy re-heated to. Had it with two of my vita wheats. Mmmm Mmmm!!

First weigh in is on Tuesday 6th July. I said that I wasn't going to weigh myself but goodness it's getting hard as I really want to now!

Talking Daisy Chain's Personal Diary

Day 9 - Wednesday 16th June

Again, feeling amazing today. Yay!

Last night I was due to do my Week 1 measurements, although nothing off the arms or thighs, my waist and hips and bust have compensated apparently. Results - all over I've lost 25cms - wow!!
I can't wait for that weigh in which is in about 3wks (seems like FOREVER away!)

Last nights dinner was some grilled veggies (my new fav way to cook them) and some chicken with a little bit of nutmeg and oregano (another sister tip) yummo! It was really nice.

Last night after I'd cooked all my food for today (inc tonights dinner as we are at a family dinner tonight) I did something SO stupid! I put the hot frying pan in the kitchen sink, grabbed the dishcloth to clean the stove - and what did I do??? I picked up the black metal grill things (have NO idea what they are called) that go over the flame to wipe it... ummm... stupid girl you just cooked on it for an HOUR!!! Yep! It was so hot it stuck to my skin and burnt like H*LL!! OWWW!!

Straight under the cold water, and then some fresh aleo vera plant onto it saved it from being a really, really bad burn, but it still hurts a lot!
So now I have a battle scar from Cohens cooking...lol... a great big line down the middle of the palm of my hand. Goodness me!! What a twit I am!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day.

Talking Daisy Chain's Personal Diary

Day 10 - Thursday 17th June

Welcome to Day 10 hey? I have made it into double digit days! lol

Today I'm feeling great once again. Had dinner with my in-law's last night and had to byo my meal and turn down birthday cake - but it was all good.
They all commented that my face looks thinner and that I look like I've lost weight (before they knew I was doing Cohen's) so that was a good little perk up for me!

My only concern at the moment is this debate over Curry Powder that I've been reading in the forums... I was using my normal one, which is just a home brand one from Coles, and now I'm scared that I'm affecting my program by using it. For the moment I've just cut it out and I'm using Nutmeg and Oregano to flavour my lunch minced dish, I really need to get organised and call my consultant to find out what I'm supposed to do. It's on my list... will try and do it today.

Isn't it funny the small things that now make me happy... my mum found Cracked Pepper Vita Wheats the other day and got them for me (I couldn't get them anywhere) and I did a happy dance when she told me!! lol how our priorities change hey..??

Well I'm off to prepare lunch now, hope everyone's having a good day and keeping strong.

Sending a special hug out to my friend Joey-girl.

Fantastic news DC,

glad you had a good day and night.

I find myself, at lunch time when out with freinds, looking at what they are eating and thinking how can you eat that? But I still dont say anything.

I think to myself I cant believe I used to eat those exact same thing, now it makes me feel a bit yuk to my tummy looking at it.

thumbs up for your journey so far! your wonderful.

Hi Jazzi

Thanks for your msg and support - means a lot! I do know what you mean about watching what others eat. I was watching people eat fish and chips the other day and I had a look at the bottom of the wrapping where all the oil etc was and I thought - my god - no wonder I didn't feel well!!

Hope you're feeling better now. **Hugs**
