Oh Hopeful --- I know exactly what you are going through as I myself have been there with many diets when the first part is over and you have lost a good deal of weight and then as Koh says you hit that middle part and it all seems like looking at another week of the same foods will kill you ....BUT guess what 'It won't'.

You are such a great inspiration to me and I know that you can at least go one more week. We will all be here with you everystep of the way if needed. Just think ONE more week for now and then next week you can tackle the following week.

Try some new recipes and swap your meals around if you haven't already done so.

You have done fantastic Sweet, hope you have a good day tomorrow

Koh is right, Hopeful. The middle bit is never fun. But think of all the great work you've done, and how wonderful it feels when the numbers on the scales go down. It's natural to feel a bit down about the whole thing sometimes, but the rewards really are worth it. Stay strong and keep smiling!

Hi
Thanks for your replies and encouragement, I don't know why I am so down, I hope it is the middle phase as you all indicated. I have re-read my diary entries as Koh suggested and I do feel a bit better. I haven't been setting myself goals - maybe I should and maybe I should work in 5kg lots because 75kg doesn't seem that far away where as 70kg does. What sort of rewards do people give themselves, foods obviously out and I'm not ready to face the change room mirrors yet, so any suggestions would be great. I hope that when I come back on Saturday to write up my six week report everything will be back to normal. Thanks again Koh, AJ and Manderella I want you to know how much you replies have helped me, thanks again (I'm not alone).

Thanks Mette too, you message came through as I was typing mine, you must be in the middle phase and yet you're so positive - there's hope for me yet.
Thanks

There are days where I'm not very positive at all... I'll admit to that. No one can be positive all the time. But I've got wonderful people around me that remind me of what is important, and why I'm undertaking this journey. Usually my downwards moodswings only last a few hours, and then I find the zone again. Or maybe it's Zen more so than the zone. A sense of peace and well-being.
There's more than hope for you, pretty lady. There is a guarantee. If it gets hard, get stubborn and you will win! I'll be there with ya, cheering you on!

Hi Hopeful,

I often tell people to "stay light and happy" - but today, while thinking about this forum, and all of the good that is happening, I added another - which is equally important - and that is "be excited".

Many gurus have already said, this is 10% weight-loss, and 90% mental journey. So, if you can get the "mental" part sorted, the weight-loss just happens.

I saw this from you a week or so back:-
Quote:
what other diet could you lose 10kg in one month?? My cm's were more this week also, which is great, the body is really starting to look different now. When I started I must confess I did have little doubts whether I would be strong enough to follow it 100%, but with results like these I'm not going anywhere.
So, Hopeful, your mission, should you choose to accept it is to re-read those bolded bits over and over - until you KNOW that you know you are "doing the right thing". Then, just get on and do it, KNOWING that it is what you want, and that it IS going to get you to where you want to be.

More than that, get damn EXCITED about where you will be in just another week, or even a month. Hold on to that excitement, and stay light and happy over this chosen path of yours. It IS a good path (hell, it's a GREAT path ) and your choosing Cohens was an inspiration. (go re-read those bolded bits again, just to be sure )

When I read of other programs where people are happy to have lost 20Kgs in A YEAR, I think you'd agree you are onto a good thing.....

So, go you good thing, and make this happen for you too. Set those smaller goals, hang up a Size 8 dress that "calls your name" (or something like that - you girls would know....) then live happily each day as you "take your Cohens medicine" - until you're done !!

Hugs,

Koh

Hi
Well I'm back, 5 days it took to get back up, but now I'm here and I am quite proud of the fact that even though I was down I stuck 100% to the program, and now I'm back on track mentally I'm so glad I did. I now feel that if I got through those 5 days, that if it ever happened again I know I will get through it no problems.
Well I just completed week 6 and even though the weight loss has slowed down a bit it doesn't matter because it is still heading in the right direction, and you know what, just as Koh said I know that in a week it will be less again and in a month, well I just can't wait to see where I'll be, and lets face it, time is just flying by at the moment the month will be here before I know it. Another thing I noticed this week is with having a couple of late dinners where we picked up take away for the rest of the family, is that it can get a bit lonely cooking all by yourself, just for one, I'm glad it doesn't happen very often.
Great to be mentally back on track, it feels great.
Be back soon

Hi Hopeful!!

Glad you are back on track mentally, as that is more than half your battle won!

OMG, you have averaged just over 2 kgs loss a week! How awesome is that????

You are doing such a terrific job, you deserve such huge pat on the back and to give yourself credit for doing so well. You even pulled through your tough times without resort to your old eating strategies. That is major stuff, life changing stuff! Congratulations!!

If you are feeling you need more help in this area, have a look on the net for The Beck Diet Solution by Judith Beck. It is an awesome tool to help get your thinking on track for thinking like a thin person!

Keep up the fantastic work!

Vee

So happy to hear that you survived a very tough week. Fantastic Work and it is wonderful that you stayed 100% on the program. I know if I have a tough week, I know who to look up for some great advice to get me through.

Have a better week and keep up the smiles

So glad that you got through the tough week, and good on you for staying 100%! It really is the way to go! And each time you have a victory, the next one comes easier, and the happy hormones set in again! And then it becomes easy! As Koh said, it's 10% weightloss and 90% mental journey. So once you beat the mind games, you've won! Stay strong and keep smiling!

Hi
Back again after finishing week 7,a bit more fat gone for good and a couple of cms, thanks guys for your replies and wishes it worked, I feel great. A friend asked me if I felt like I have more energy and to be honest I don't feel like I have endless energy, but I am definately less tired which probably means the same thing as having more energy. Things are still going great and I look forward to my weight checks every week (can't do the monthly thing), I am still amazed how easy this diet is to stick to.
Be back soon

Going great guns, Hopeful! So close to halfway! It's much more fun to count down than up. Keep up the great work!

Congrat's on your progress!! Cohen's is amazing isn't it? Perhaps you could go for a facial/pedicure/massage or something like that as a reward for your goals along the way? Or a new pair of shoes? accessories? etc.

Hi
Well another week down (week , more baggage gone forever and a couple of cms. We'll i had another no problem, uneventful week, I must say they are just flying by at the moment. You know Koh I feel like I've only just got here and to be nearly half way is fantastic, and Mette I imagine the count down will be a lot more fun, can't wait to get there. Thanks for the ideas on rewards Ellabelle, it's given me something to think about. I've had to buy a some new clothes this week, because what I've been wearing is just getting rediculously big, and I found the change room mirror a little less scary than last time I went in. I have a lot of my smaller clothes in storage at the moment, because we have been doing renovations since August, and I've asked my husband to find which box they're in and to bring them home because all my work clothes are falling off me too - which actually feels pretty awesome. All in all a pretty good week.
Be back soon

Two words: OP SHOP! They are the best invention for Cohenites, because the clothes we get might not fit for very long! And it's for a good cause too!

Have a great week!
