Hi CJ,

Quote:
Koh - I am apparently all about rhetorical questions, since I've started every time I speak to the SO I ask so many of them that he now asks "do you want an answer or should I just listen?" and he does listen.
Hey, stand up, right now, and give SO a "high-five" from me !! Seems he learned WAY earlier than I did "what is required" from most SO's I was too busy looking for "the quick fix" - until I read a few good books and realised that "Girls think out loud, blokes don't - and that leads to problems from BOTH sides". Took me awhile, but now, it's not a problem...

Quote:
My best question has been - if this is enough food, how come we eat so much more?
I hope you are NOT "thinking out loud" here (thus don't really want an answer) 'cos here I go :-

For now, this IS enough food, CJ - but it WON'T be enough once you have reached Maintenance. It is enough now, as your body draws on "stored fat" for your energy. Once that stored fat is gone, you WILL need more food to STAY slim !!! (How's that for a puzzle? )

But then, THAT is what refeed is for - to have you learn how much you WILL need into the future (and to learn what foods you should a. avoid, b. eat only tiny amounts of, or c. enjoy !!! ).

Stick with it for now, CJ - and keep giving that SO a high-five or two - seems to me he is way ahead of many

Hmm Koh, can't wait for maintenance then..... more food to stay slim.... I'm all for that, but you are right my SO is a good guy.

So today is Day 7 and the end of my first week, and what a week it has been, I have really enjoyed it, I feel great and I have so much energy, SO has commented that I sound alot brighter too so whatever is happening can keep on going.

Off to check out the waterwise challenge - hope you all signed up!!!!

Hi C-Jaye

Well done for making it to the 1 week mark! Roll on week 2!
You are SO full of energy, I can feel it in your posts! Hope I feel the same after my first week back on track. I am feeling really listless, headachy and 'flat' - but then I am only on Day 3! I know it gets a LOT better!!

Keep up the Motivation and Posivite outlook and you'll be rocking along down and down and down some more to the slim (and lovely) self you are!!!!

Thanks for the support, too.
Cheers
Jade

HI Caro. What an awesome result for week one! You are powering on! Remember the first 5kgs of any weight loss is predominantly water, but the good news for you is that you are already into "fat burning mode" after only one week! You will find this faster than any other diet you have been on, so dont lose motivation once the scales slow down- you will still be doing better than anythin else you have tried. Remember to re-read your program regularly and you are certainly on the right track with the water challenge, so you know you are doing all the right things, sit back and enjoy the ride!

Smile Re: The quest for Caro!

Hey there Liz - the SO and the WH have kindly offered to drink my share of the beer on any occasion for me, they call it a sacrifice....!!!! And they will continue to give and eat all the pizza too....I live with 2 of the most caring people ever......

So today I had a friend drop in to invite me to lunch, so I said..... hmmmmm as long as I can bring my beef salad..... I am so enjoying the way that I am eating right now and it really is great to have control over food instead of the other way around!!!

New experience coming up.... this weekend is my weekend away to pick up the SO, but I have my meals done and packed in the little esky (to fit into the minibar fridge in the hotel), I WILL BE STRONG.

And how cool is the deli guy at my local woolies - I asked him to weigh my prawns into exactly 100, 110 and 120 gm bags and he didnt even bat an eyelid and didnt ask the inane (is 113 ok? he just broke a prawn in half!!!!!)- ahhhhhh thats great service.

So everyone treat yourselves like the deli guy treated me........ like you are worth the extra effort - because YOU ARE!!!!

WOW Caro! Both my kids work in a Woolies deli and I bet they would whinge at giving that sort of service! Mind you, they are TOLD by their supervisor that they have to do whatever the customer asks of them, so maybe that is the policy in your local Woolies too. When my daughter was on checkouts, they were even told that if a customer were to ask them to load their car, they had to go do it. AMAZING!!

Great to see your strong resolve, you are doing really well. This journey will be over for you before you know it!

Cheers
Jen

Lightbulb Re: The quest for Caro!

Hi Jen, let your kids know that when they do do that little bit extra, the person on the other side of the counter really appreciates it and it might just be that one little bit of kindness that makes someone stick to something or decide that its all too hard...... hmmmm, the other way to look at it is Karma.......

I looked at some old photos of me with the FC at various times over the years, (gotta love facebook) and spent ages un-tagging myself in many of them. But the worst thing....... I have obviously been bigger than I am now, that was a real shock!!!!!! I think my place in the family was as "the big one", and I am so looking forward to not wearing that label anymore....... not that I want someone else to wear it.... I just want to be done with it.

Anyhooooo, I am so excited to be picking up the SO and the WH this weekend, but I really have appreciated being on my own for the first week to get my head into the programme and working out some menu plans for all of us.

And after this week I got to thinking that we could all use some time alone with ourselves, to just get to know who we are when we are alone, to catch up with ourselves and to put our own needs first for a while.......... I hope that you can get this time somewhere..........Caro

Hey hun thanks for the water challenge invite, I have not explored the challenges posts yet so it was good to get motivated by your invite. Time alone is great I agree it also makes you appreciate SO much more.

Hope you have a great weekend hun!

Hey Caro

I totally agree... time for ourselves to just reflect and get centred is exactly what I feel I need at the moment

I hope the rain eases off so I can take the kids to the beach and build sandcastles and get my feet wet!

I'm not up with computer lingo... what does WH and SO stand for?

Keep up the Great Work... your head is in the right place!

Hey Liz, I figured that the Significant Other and the Wicked Housemate (SO, WH) will figure in quite a few of my entries as I go along so I gave them code names.

I hope the rain stops for you too, there is nothing I like better than to stand just at the edge of the water and wait for the waves to come in and out and bury my feet. I just don't have beach where I am, so when I get near one, I savour it. But sandcastles......... the magic of building a sandcastle is amazing, a pile of wet sand is transformed in your mind into a beautiful building with turrets and flags and moats..... enjoy.......Caro

Well, what a great weekend, Koh it brought it home that I am changing shape - if the person who sees me every day notices, then it has to be noticeable, although he has been away since I started - I can't believe it's been such a short time......... but his comment was "I am so proud of you, can't wait to see how this turns out"..

The weekend has been good so far, I have kept to my programme 100% despite being away from home. I prepared all of my meals before I came so it's just been a matter of taking out the right container and away we go. I even learnt from Princess Sunbeam (thanks so much) and took a cooler bag with my lunch in it in case I got stuck out longer than I thought, and I put my snacks in my handbag this morning, premium crackers in the individual packets of 4.

I went through the food court at the shopping centre and just loved smelling all the things that I love, and that was enough, I will have plenty of opportunities to try them again once I have my weight completely under control and that does not happen until I am on maintenance - long term planning.........

And I met the WH in town for drinks and had a soft drink, I am so pleased with myself and a BIG THANKYOU to everyone on the forum who is helping to keep me focussed, it is possible to learn from someone else's experience!!!!!!!!!! Caro

Hi Caro

Thanks for being there for me - again. (See you dropped a note in my diary to see how I was tracking) and WELL DONE TO YOU!!!!!
You are doing SO well!!!!
You deserve it!!!!

I fell off again - yeah - can you belive it? Hardly an effort and I had SUCh bad detox I just can't believe that on the day it was feeling better - I just blew it! It started with a sniff and then teeny, tiny taste of my kids chicken schnitzel........ Before I knew it, I thought 'Oh well' and was munching into biscuits and whatever else I could get my hands on. I'll not go there.....

I posted in Karyn's diary about my feelings of disappointment and self-anger but I am feeling a little better and KNOW I just have to 'get up, dust myself off' and START AGAIN!!!! I know if I can just get through a week, I'll be one my way. I have a LOT of social things always on the go and these play with my mind - as I will not admit to friends and family that I am on Cohens (as some of them have done it and are very critical and sceptical and I don't want to set myself up) - so i just pretend I am not 'on diet' and hence I don't stay on track! Go figure...... I really am stupid as I am just sabotaging myself!
BUT I have to admit that I am doing this FOR me and so only I can make it happen.

I said to Karyn that I have a friend's 40th next Sunday and I really want to try go for a week as I KNOW I'll feel great on Sunday if I do. So....tomorrow I start - again!!! OMG. My husband is so irritated with me. On off on off...... He has said nothing this past time .
I have 10kgs to lose - yeah - doesn't seem like a LOT but it's always when I am at this point that I stumbe. I must look up the post Koh sent and set up my ticker - face my deamons, face reality and FORGE on.......

Okay - enough. I have gone on and on about me. I should be posting all this in MY diary, not taking up your precious space!!

I am still water wise!!!! Woohooo.

Well done again and have a great weekend.
I haven't given up yet!!!!

Cheers
Jade
P.S. How do you prepare the snapper? I have never made it before and it sounds yummy

WOW, so how much temptation could I have today, KFC and Hungry Jacks with the SO and the WH before the drive home, and they got takeaways to reheat for dinner.

I took my premade salad into KFC and ate that while they had lunch, and I realised that I didn't want KFC, my salad and feta was fine. I did miss the scales over the last few days but I will stay off as long as I can.......... maybe Monday..........

I know that it has been a difficult week for some on the forum, but as long as you keep getting up when you are knocked down, and learn a little more each time you do get up, you WILL succeed. Caro
