Caffine free or regular diet coke both contain lots of Aspatame, as I said 1gram per litre, much much more than a few Equal(s)

Just my internet plan allows up to 7 Aspatame based sweateners such as Equal per day, I have always used them (well brands that contain Aspatame). So I wouldnt get very concerned about it. Some things on this program dont make sense, such the concern for even a few thousands of a gram of sugar in multivitamins, yet the ability to eat 2 or 3 medium sized apples per day is part and recommended in the plan. It wont hurt to follow the guide to the letter, but at least for me there is enough fuzzy logic around the edges to question if sometimes consultants they are just making stuff up. In Japan it is common to hear "The Boss wants x, the Boss wants you to do", but this is just someones interpretation of what the boss really asked for or wanted to see. For example in the USA Diet coke is allowed but in Australia it is a deviation, same product, same group of fat humans...different "rule", I think it is just a interpretation by the Australian group who runs Cohen in Asia Pacific.

Agree Lessfatty that if you analyse the logic it does not make sense.
But I have decided to not try to understand it but to follow it. No offence to those who do.

My reverse logic is us guys need to understand everything and in doing so we can increase or decrease our faith.

Even if the whole diet is a placebo for eating less who cares if it works. When I see the success of Asy, Yourslef and Kristine to name a few I have my evidence.

On the diet coke point if you Wiki "Diet Coke" it lists each Country has different rules on which sweeteners. It appears USA has cyclamates and we don’t?
So I thank you for the point as I will not worry about my equal today.

Regards to all, Peter 14.7

I've just finished cleaning out my bedroom of old clothes. I have 6 x 80lt TUBS of size 26-30 clothes. Today I bought a size 12 shirt that's loose.

I don't care if things they say don't agree, I'm impressed.

Asy, that is truly great!

Size 12. Now you are smack bang in the middle of the bargain bin territory.

I understand how hard it is to shop for clothes as a women after my wife went shopping with a busty and large girlfriend for a new dress top for her. Nothing fit either bust or body.

If you ever get to Sydney got to SES clothing in various locations but one of the best is Central Station bear Railway Square Tunnel.

I got wife a $70 tweed dress jacket for $12 last year. Essentially they run out Sportsgirl, Portmans, etc.. Under their own label. Whole Funky Yoga Trackies are $10. Twin Set Cardigans $5. etc..

Great for North Coast but a little light weight for the Macedon Ranges Winter of 2 to 8 degrees each day. burr....

BTW I am feeling great.

Question here?

When I had the mango it was as per allowance of 160g but filled the plate. Afterwards could feel my heart racing with the sugar. But it is on the diet.

Any comments on Mango?

Lost another 1 kg so going ok, Peter 14.7

I had the same question which I asked to my consultants there reply was that I should "be careful".

The big picture of the diet is to keep blood sugars and hence insulin low, so I honestly stay clear of sweeter the normal fruits or just have a little at a time.

Peter, it sounds like we are near neighbours if you live in the M.R's. Have been in Sunbury for 14 months nearly, and now that I've lost so much weight the mornings are very BBrrrrrrrrrrr. LOL
I don't eat mango very often, it is one of those fruits that I can take or leave, I usually have it mixed with yoghurt as a 'breakfast'. Keep up the good work.

Cohen Date: W0D6 Sunday
Today's Weight: 107kg (-5.0Kg)
Total CMs Measured (update weekly): 442cm start point
Breakfast: 8am Omelette on Ryvita (1 egg, asparagus, onion, tom.
Snack: 10:00am section of apple, 1 decaf black coffee with sweetener
Snack: 11:00am small apple
Lunch: 1:30 Tuna Salad with Ryvita (tuna, lettuce, onions, herbs, capsicum, balsamic vinegar, LF mayo 1 tsp)
Snack: 5pm 2 crispbreads
Dinner: 7pm Chicken Fry Up (chicken in balsamic vinegar, spinach, onions, herbs)
Supper: 9:15pm Nectarine
Fluids: 2.0 l water
Deviations: none

Sunday was the first time
1. I have combined crackers with meal.
2. Not had snacks exactly mid way between meals

I think having the apple section with the coffee and the apple later may be wrong. Will check with clinic. Finding it hard to gulp the water but I do not count glasses only measured bottles.

Result: as of midday Monday I lost another 1 kg so STILL going ok. I look forward to getting under 100kg as then scales show in 0.5kg increments.

Regards, Peter 14.7

Cohen Date: W0D7 Monday
Today's Weight: 107kg (-5.0Kg)
Total CMs Measured (updated Tues.): 6.25cm week 6.25cm total

Breakfast: 8:30am Yoghurt with Peach
Snack: 10:00am 1 decaf black coffee with sweetener
Snack: 11:00am 2 Salada Crispbread
Lunch: 1:50 Baked Mushrooms with Mozzarella (mushroom, mozzarella, balsamic vinegar, onion and garlic powder, oil spray) very yummy
Snack: 5pm 2 Crispbreads
Dinner: 7pm Prawn Laksa (curry powder, prawns, zucchini, cauliflower, onion, chives)
Supper: Too late, forgot.
Fluids: 1 decaf coffee, 1 herbal tea, 2l
Deviations: none

Today was first day of no recordable weight change however scales only go in 1kg until under 100kg so weight loss was likely but under the measure. Overall we are 5kg over six days so very happy.

Maybe the slowdown was normal or a result of not drinking enough water?

On the cm measured I lost most of arms chest and waist, nothing hips and legs. This is to be expected. Legs are more muscle than fat. They had to be to hold up (previously) 112kg!

Peter, I can certainly attest to feeling the cold more these days, it's not uncommon for me to have an extra outer layer on now that I lost so much of the inner one. .

Ok we are one week in.

It appears I am 107kg clear now. I say this as before the scale said 107 but flicked to 108 and back so with a 1kg scale I assume I was 107.5 and undecided.

So now it does not flick so I should be happy. But if I miss seeing the loss then I will buy a better scale. I know we should not get hung up on 0.1kg as if you eat a 200g meal you are obviously 0.2kg heavier but it helps to see it going the right weigh!

Default First Day Away from Home

Cohen Date: W1D2 Wednesday
Today's Weight: 104.8kg (-2.2kg)
Total CMs Measured Lost (updated Tues.): 6.25cm week 6.25cm total

Breakfast: Yoghurt with Fruit
Snack: 2 Crispbread

Supper: Nil
Fluids: 2l, decaf coffee with sugarine, 2.4l water

FILE NOTE: A day behind in posting.

Today (Wednesday) I went out for the first time, taking my nephew to the Melbourne Motor Show and then a business meeting at night.

So lunch and dinner was prepared except I made salad for lunch and left it in the fridge when I grabbed a similar container of ½ tomato and onion. So I ate the tom and half the raw onion guessing that was about right.

Soup for Tea at 9pm after the meeting was ok as I stayed up to 12pm with the drive home so I got my “2 hours before sleep” rule in.

Significantly I got my old Tantita Scale to work again so now I can measure to 0.1g and noticed I went from 107kg to 104.8kg

Now I suspect this is an error factor and that I was not 107kg but 106.5kg rounded up with the old scale and in fact I lose around 0.8kg a day

So despite a few “hick ups” I got through a day away from my home and the ease of a fridge and kitchen at hand.

Regards, Peter 14.7

Today was also significant.

We ate at Café.

It was deli café in Daylsford called “Cliffy’s”

Very good foodie café full to brim with organic food and local produce. So I asked the chef if she could do a special cheese salad to exact grams and she said yes!

So I dined on Meredith Valley Marinated Goats Fetta (oil was drained and cheese pat dry as best possible) with Fresh Organic Salad Vegs in White Balsamic Vinegar. Delicious!

Also had a REAL coffee, black of course, for the first time in 10 days.

Oh, lost another 0.8kg.

Only 0.4kg today so maybe yesterday lunch of fetta drained of oil was not perfect. As well, guessing the veg allowance I over ate by 15g on lunch of veg and under ate by 10g veg of dinner. Need to take guide in wallet.

Another 0.4kg today. I have to slow down so that makes sense.

Had arvo tea with family today and easily resisted a table full of biscuits, crackers, cheese, etc..

So it seems 0.4kg a day is the new rate of less. Still happy.
