Thanks pen .... because I take so much inspiration from your journey it seems foreign to me that you would find me inspiring in any way. We could form a mutual admiration society now I think

Thanks Louise, yeah the shopping is fun when you can just go .... oooooh yeah I need some of THIS lol

Just had my first piece of bread in 5 months ........... meh ........ take it or leave it ..... think I actually prefer the crackers

Just managed to find you here, Connie. Congratulations on achieving goal, and it seems that you really were ready for refeed. Lucky you, after being on the diet for months, it must be lovely to have a bit more variety in your meals, delicious and all as Cohen meals are.

Ohhh man I am so full, I couldn't fit my apple in til supper ... LOL

And I just read that tomorrow I add double the protein of today ... gawd girls how did you manage it .. it's kinda scary ..... makes me unsure I was ready for this ... terrified of gaining weight ... but feel skinnier ... bizarre!

I don't know if I will do the bread thing tomorrow.... maybe use CB's instead ... not that fussed on the bread, would be more interested in a low carb tortilla or a scone LOL ... yes I am still thinking about my only craving throughout the entire diet..... there is chocolate all over my house, and chips and lollies and all that stuff.... and for 5 months all I have wanted to eat is a fruit scone

Hi Connie,
Won't be long and you will be able to eat your scone!

Bread was a bit of a disappointment for me as well, I was craving mountain bread!

Have a great night

Hi Connie

I've been reading excitedly about your refeed but no time to post until today. Well done, you have SO made the right choice. You deserve it. I know you find it strange that you've been inspirational to me but you have been. I adore your stubborn refusal to deviate and your frustration with your slow losses. I'm exactly the same. I look at where you are and I think "I can do that too" thus you are an inspiration.

x

Heya Connie - reading your refeed journey so far just gives me SO much hope! YAY! I've been really worried about it, but hey, if I can have pineapple... how bad can it be? LOL. You're doing brill Ms C, and well done on the 300g drop. I'll be keeping an eye on you

BTW - LMOA at your "...bread ... meh..." comment. I've been having perverse dreams about bread for almost 6 months...

OK well,

I had my old fave ... Yoghurt and apple for breakfast and I was hungry all day .... Go figure I had my first piece of bread yesterday, could be a reaction, will have to try bread again tomorrow and see what happens on Sunday .......

I added my extra protein and vegies, but whether the body was responding to the old breakfast and decided I should be hungry I don't know ..... maybe I should just not have apples in the morning anymore. Hmmmmmm

Does it specify how much bread you should have, Connie? We have a bread machine and DH makes all our bread. I think one slice of his bread is probably two slices of ordinary bread.

AJ it says .....

one slice of bread, one slice + -30g must be machine sliced.

And it can be white, brown, whole wheat, wholemeal or rye bread, no health breads.

hi connie, your fan club here....lol

i can so relate to how your feeling...i felt like i was gaining weight on refeeed also...

my theory is that we get so used to not being hungry and not being full when on the program, that the fullness makes us feel strange....and worried.

in retrospect though, it is about getting used to eating the right amount. there have been so many times since i finished that i felt so full at the end of a day and was convinced i would gain weight, only to find that the scales the next day stayed the same or went up a tiny bit or even went down a bit.

for me, refeed was the hardest part. just stick to it 100% and get it right and then you wont take long to work out your maintenance path....the brain does catch up after a while and you realise how far you have come. i think i am only just realising that a kilo here or there is so easy to shift that i am now not worried about having a big night or whatever....just need to go back to carb free for a couple of days and all is well again...

you will get there, just have faith with the science behind all this and maybe be a bit more patient than i was...

Good morning everyone!

Refeed day 5

Weight: 63.6kg -0.4
Breakfast: Yoghurt + Apple
Morning tea: Pineapple chopped into cubes and sprinkled with mint flakes + 1 cracker
Lunch: 1 Sice wholemeal bread with Tomato, capsicum, mushroom and mozzarella melted over the top.. and a balsamic salad - So full , was very very nice!!! + added old vegies.
Afternoon tea: Apple + cracker
Dinner: Steak stir fry, with all added old protein, and some added old vegies.

Tell me girls will I stop feeling bloated and really full after every meal? The thought of adding even more is scary .... terrified of gaining weight ... what a serious mind screw this is!!!!

Nahh Shell, it was only add old protein, I don't add new til day 11 LOL

Pen, hehe .. yeah I have lost 1kg in 5 days on refeed ... seems very wrong to me LOL.... but I guess I will see where I end up.

Have a great day.

Interesting comment about the bread Connie. A lot of the things that are loaded with carbs like rice and pasta are fairly bland and only nice because of the things we add to them.
Have a great weekend

As I said somewhere else, Connie, seems you just needed to eat more to lose weight. Maybe your body was just tired of feeling hungry and went into starvation mode.

Now if I could stop feeling guilty about feeling so stuffed full

Have a good one
