Grrrr...... up 700gr this morning. How frustrating. Have been following the program 100%. This has been happening the last few weeks up and down and up and down. The only things that are different are my sleep hasn't been as good PLUS I do feel like I'm retaining fluid but I don't know why... it hasn't been a problem earlier in the program. Maybe the fat loss has slowed enough to make the "water" fluctations more obvious??? Anyway feel better now that I've had my little rant.

Good Morning,

How frustrating for you! I'm sure the gain will result in a really big loss though over the next few days though.

How are the functions going? Good on you for sticking with it 100%, I'm sure the jeans are looking great!

The weight will always fluctuate, that's why they tell us to only weigh occasionally. I'm sure it's just fluid retention, though. It's not like you can actually gain weight with this program! It'll be gone before you know it! Take care, hopefully you'll have a nice, stressfree week so you can get some good sleeps!

phew. down again to a new low of 66.3kg. Think it must ahve been my disrupted sleep. Sleep has improved overall (night before last about 9 hours) but last night it was pretty grim was awake for about 3.5 hours in the middle of the night. But happy this morning with the wieght loss.

Oh Sirroco!

I was reading your diary, and I was reading about my own patterns!! How funny!
I can so relate. Thank goodness I'm not having the laying awake for more than 3 hours in the middle of the night! I've managed to get past that using essential oils every night in a blend, as they really help me sleep much better.

Hope things even out for you and that the kgs keep dropping like they should!

Vee

Thanks Vee and everyone else for dropping by. Being awake for hours in the middle of the night was quite normal for me before I started cohens. And then it stopped happening and that was fantastic. But it has come back and while it used to be very annoying (and tiring) when it happened now there is the added dimension in it slowing down the weight loss (possibly)! These thoughts at 2am are so not conducive to falling asleep!!!

Ok - still having very patchy sleep. Night before last woke at midnight and back to sleep up after 4am. The sun was coming up. Last night ok but more because of sheer exhaustion. Not sure what has disrupted sleep. Will try going to bed later. Couldn't help myself - got on the scales this morning and down to 65.7kgs which I'm pleased about.

Hi thought I would drop by. I really believe sleep and non weightloss and stress can all contribute to fluid retention etc...

Magnesium is a nice mineral to take and works for alot of people. Check with your consultant to make sure its okay but I take it. Its great for cramps etc also. Definately a mineral to take. (best at night)

Hope that helps. Good luck and have a great weekend...

It sounds like there is something going on in your life that is playing on your mind!!
The sooner you can address it, the better your sleep will be.
You are getting so close now, you need all the sleep you can get to help you along!!
I know using a blend of essential oils and rubbing them into my skin before bed has done wonders for my sleep! You just have to find what works for you!

Keep going well, Sirocco!

Vee

Thanks Vee and Maria. Another bad night on Saturday night but last night ok, again probably from exhaustion. Not much other than normal work stresses going on. I think it is something else. I have always had trouble sleeping and stress does make it worse but since Cohens I've slept so mch better even through worse stress. Couldn't even have a nap during the day yesterday which I never have any problem with. Last night I had lavendar on my pillow and took some rescure remedy before I went to sleep and on the one time I woke up. Will also give the magnesium a try. Weighed this morning - used to be so disciplined and only do it once a week but now every couple of days!!! Down to 65.3kg so the sleep issue is not having so much of an effect this week.

Hi Sirroco,

And with that drop to 65.3, you've just said "Goodbye" to the Overweight range on the BMI scale forever. So,

Welcome to the Normal BMI Range Sirroco

Something's working - and now you won't need to weigh for a few more days. You must've been "hanging out" for that breakthrough.

Well done,

Koh

And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!

Thanks Koh! That achievement kind of slipped me by!

Well down to 64.5kg this morning so feeling pretty good about that. Have also managed to get through a few xmas functions with nothing stronger than a diet coke. Sleep is also much improved so also delighted about that as well. Quite a few functions to go one every day from the coming THursday to the following Monday. I can so though it is great to wake up the morning after and A. not be hungover and B. not feel guilty about what I ate!

Congrats on hitting normal BMI! Sorry to hear that you have had trouble sleeping, though. Hope it will sort itself out soon. Keep up the great work on the weightloss! You'll get through the functions with flying colours!

Well the week before Christmas. Down to 63.1kgs this morning so that is a 1.4kg loss for the week which I'm delighted about. I think that would be the biggest weekly loss for me for awhile. Have managed all of the Christmas functions fine so far. Not too many to go. I think being so close to the end is helpful in sticking to the program during the social activities. But the biggest thing is that it doesn't bother me in the slightest not to be eating what everyone else is eating. I think the hardest thing will be all of the incidental eating on Christmas day - the traditional grazing all day from opening the presents to picking at the lefovers. But still only a few days to get through.
