Andy,

I gotta say this out loud...

You are probably the most impressive board member. NOT only in weight loss, but, also in your untiring efforts to be the voice of wisdom and reason for so many on here.

Thank you so very much.

Looking forward to your reaching Goal, I think I'll hear Augathella cheering from here.

PS: once you finish, I hope you stay on here as our cheer squad. I think we'll have to get you and Koh some cute little cheerleader outfits...

Thank you ASY for your comments and also thank you for your commitment to this forum and your untiring work that you do - lots who use this forum most likely would not realise your behind the scenes work to keep the forum going - so thanks for that - with this forum many persons may not or will not succeed in their efforts.

I have updated my ticker after a frustrating few weeks - for about three weeks my weight has only moved slightly up and down - so yesterday I sat down and worked out what I had changed and when and yes after reading my book - which I have had in my possession for 30 weeks I suddenly found the cause.

The weight of the mango - such a simple oversight on my part.

I have never even thought of weighing a mango and whilst I have always gone for medium size I have never weighed them - so yesterday after eating about 40 mangoes over the last couple of months - I have found that they weigh mostly around 300 - 400 grams and my allowance is only 150 - so after no mango yesterday I lost 600 grams last night - so feeling much relieved and hopefully back on the last leg of 15 to 18 kgs to go.

Just shows we need to read every word and as the seasons change have a good look at each food item - when I started mango's where not in season so concentrated on apples oranges and kiwi fruit - the in season and on hand fruits for western Qld in August - so even after 29 weeks we still need to be ever vigilant on what we put into our mouths - its a very finely tuned program - so whilst not a deviation of choice - still a deviation and I am posting this to just remind us all to be aware - and keep on track.

To all of the new starters - go get what your heart desires and to all of those that are on the road and heading down - good on you - all the best - its a great program and lifestyle change with many many many rewards - on the way and at the end no doubt.

Have a good week

Andy

Impressive stuff mate. You've done amazingly well on the programme.

Interesting about your doctor saying you are sitting low on all the readings which is good. I often wondered if because we were obese for so long that our bodies were often better trained to deal with everyday life simply because they worked so much harder to keep us alive. Now that we've shed the flab, they enter cruise mode and can keep us going in pretty good condition.

The only part of my body which are still feeling the effects of being obese are my joints. While not as painful as they were, I have discovered which ones are damaged simply because I can now see how much flexibility I have in each one. Some, like my right knee, still don't flex more than when I was 140kg but the left is more like a 'normal' person's knee.

Again, great stuff Andy.

Amazing that a bit of extra mango, or, rather, a bit less, had such an instant result after the plateau, Andy. As you say, worth reading the book again and again.

I agree with the rest Andy 'Great Stuff' you have keep alot of us motivated.
Am sure your horse does appreciate the 'loss of the extra load' I know mine does. It's also nice to just be able to jump up there bareback like when I was a teen.

Your weight loss is short of amazing and you have to feel great and be proud of yourself.
So good on you 'ol Mate'

Firstly thanks to all of you for the good things that have been posted here and elsewhere and thanks for your support.

Almosteden - it will and does work - but you have to have the want and the desire - as I did to live again - and I am sure that it will work for you if you want it too - its really a mind over matter deal - and I have won this first round - almost to thew last few minutes of the first round - then the real fun starts no doubt - to keep my weight at what I want it to be - and to stay healthy and fit at about 75 kg for the rest of my life - not 6 months after re feed but 50 years after re feed - thats going to be the real test I feel.

So its all in front and no looking behind - as far as I can - for the rest of time for me !!!!

It will work and I would be happy to support you through your journey in what ever way I can - we all need the support - so no worries.

Good to hear you pudge - and where is that photo - we are still waiting !!

Thanks baloo and AJ - your support is greatly appreciated and Baloo - I just had to do it after reading your diary so many months ago - I was just starting and you were just finishing and i remember showing my wife your results and diary and saying - it works this bloke just lost 50 kg - I will be happy to loose 15 kg and well here I am now - hitting up towards 60 kg down - but started been very inspired by your efforts.

Andy

I know just what you mean about the challenge beyond refeed, Andy. I know I can get to goal and to refeed. It's what's going to happen after that I'm bothered about. I think I can do it, but the rest of my life really is a challenge.
I just read your ticker out to my husband, who pointed out that at the end you would have halved your body weight. What a marvellous achievement

Have a happy Easter.

Hi Andy,

I started with about the same weight as you to loose. It is so great seeing you 14 kgs away from re-feed. I so agree with you that the true test
will be once we are off this program and left to our own devices to maintain our weight. I am sure there will be some trial and error and I can
not wait for the challenge. I am about 40 kgs away but you at 14 kgs away is just awesome.

Hopefully in about 2 months they will be ordering your re-feed, now that is exciting.
Anyway I just wanted to drop by and let you know that I think you have done an awesome effort with you loss.
take care buddy.
Cheers
Daisy.

Well its another week down and another couple of kg gone - @ 86 kg on the dot (today) 86.4 on Monday for the start of the week- so all good. I have had a very big Easter at Augathella - worked every day and night - and the town had a great Easter Rodeo on the Saturday and then our yearly race meeting on Monday - and a great time was had by all. On Tuesday @ 10 am we all had just started to relax when a fully loaded semi trailer overturned just to the north of the town - so it was all hands on deck again and happily the driver is O K. The truck was a write off.

So today has been a very slow day and has given me time to catch up on lots lots of jobs about the place and my diary and to read a lot of others. It is so good to see the progress and the positive help and support that every member on this forum gives to each other and as SMS posted - "We are like a big family here. Actually, we are better than family cause we rarely bicker!" - so true and its reflected throughout the forum.

I am very flat in spirit and energy today and I think it comes after a very busy few weeks - as my weight has decreased - my life has sped up - and I must admit it does make me a little more moody than I was prior to starting - but the gain is worth the pain - and as the weeks go on I do get a great sense of achievement - and the comments from every one in the community is so positive that it also keeps me on track to finish what I have started - hit that 73 kg mark !!! ........... so the need to stay focused is very critical as the weeks go by and whilst not bored it is a constant challenge not to look for something new to eat. And therein lies the secret of using the available recipes and resources to vary and constantly change the program with the same ingredients to stay on track - I think for the long term or high weight loss participants its very important to develop the skills needed to change and vary the recipes with what foods are on the shopping list.

Well must go and cook my tea - as its that time of the day.

Great to see the new ones and to every one - I sincerely wish you well in your achievements this week on your journeys that you are on to to the new you.

Andy

Great work Andy! You're powering on as usual.

You've really made me think about what I'm cooking. I've stuck to a very limited set of maybe 6 or 7 dishes for lunch and dinner through the whole way through. But I think you're right. I need to start trying to be a bit more creative (oh, if we could all be like Debs and Babytime I'm sure I'd be eating something amazing every night of the week), so that I don't get bored in the longer term. I haven't got tired of what I'm eating yet, but I'm sure it will come one day.

Thanks for stopping by my diary lately. I really appreciate your support.
