Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi there "again"
Yes again is right !! I first joined the amazing Cohens in 2009 and lost 35kgs hit my goal weight and had mantained it until Dec 2014. I needed to have both of my ovaries removed and then required HRT (hormone replacement theropy) needless to say that tiny little tablet i take each morning not only keeps my sain and my husband alive it also retains weight and water, almost overnight i put on 5kg, then 10 and now 15kg in total..... Ive been very careful of what i ate ect ect but nevertheless there you go!!..... For some crazy reason when my doctor suggested i take Duromine i thought WoW what an excellent idea!! NOT Duromine is not only exspensive but it has also made me feel sick, ive not slept in months, im constantly ill, no energy and my heart ticks faster a ticking time bomb.... (yes i have stopped taking it.) Anyway ive come to my senses and realised after 6 months of torture and very little weight loss the only option is to come back to Cohens and start a journey i know i cant fail. Im excitted and determined to shed this extra weight - it happens to be my 40th in April so i have an extra special goal, were having a costume party and hence the profile name - im not Wonder Woman by any means but i sure as hell want to look hot dressed as her!! Ive got a new program and i start today - the road to a happier healther ME!! I look forward to following others, chatting and supporting along the way. |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Thanks for the welcome ciors & ladle. Hope to write in my diary soon. Have already requested it so it will pop up when it's approved.
I like how CD just makes me prepare food so I'm not ever hungry. Or at least not yet RF lol. Sigh. But today I'm traveling and I just have 2 M2s and my M1. Here at the airport at 3am and will be back again later by 9pm--if my flight's not delayed. Forgot my fruits but have my crackers. Oh well sorry me for the deviation but was busy. At least I'm not hungry this early am. I just wanna sleeeeep! Hope you all have a great day. Hallo wonder woman! You can do it I'm sure. |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Thanks Ciors, i was pretty happy with how my weight was going until the opp - my doctor has asked me to stop taking my HRT today as a trial as she seems to think over the last year my body may have adjusted and i may no longer need it... Mmmm not sure really but ill give it a go (husband has advised me to keep a tablet or two handy at all times just incase i need a quick top up )
Yes Duromine is nasty - i really dont know why i even gave it a chance, i think i was just so dissapointed as id kept my weight off for so long and i wanting a quick fix - but never mind im on the right track again now. up and onwards they say. |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hello Everyone!!
This is my second stint with Cohen's. First one started nicely but then never got to refeed- result- I am 8kg more than when I started This time I was a bit skeptical before starting it again. In between these two stints, tried different things like controlling my portions, going on walks.. but really lack of discipline I think is something which has landed me where I am.. But now.. I haven't had my periods since last 3 months and my doctor suspects PCOS (although the ultrasound says all good in there but the sugar levels are high). When I started Cohen's for the first time I did some research around it and thats when I first heard about this term PCOS. Never thought that my weight, facial hair etc could possibly be because of this.. I was skeptical because of the term 'DIET' which raises so many questions on whether it is the right way to go or not. But from where I stand right now- no periods, possible PCOS, weight over and beyond my control- I really want to give it another go. I would have to agree that increased weight is due to my eating habits as well(not that I want to blame it all on PCOS )- I eat too much carbs, sugar and literally crave for it which could be possibly due to my haywire insulin levels (I guess) I need your support guys, please be with me on my journey.. really need to have a healthy life and wanting to be a mom (fingers crossed)- I hope that this Diet will get me where I want to be.. Planning to start soon...

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi Sur - welcome. I understand where you're coming from. I had serious health issues too prior to starting my Cohens journey again. You will get support here, I'm back for my second round due to health issues - so hey, guess what darl, we're in the same boat! Hope you don't feel so lonely now
If you get a chance, give yourself a hug for making the decision to go back on your plan. We all have our own tips and tricks to help us stay focused. I have found that having a diary helps me to stay in control and I love reading other people's posts about their experiences. I'm online a lot because I need to do something with my hands (quit smoking, drinking and started Cohens again all at the same time!!) and when I feel hungry I jump onto the forum and encourage people. I reckon you're going to go great guns, keep believing in yourself. It's Dr's orders afterall isn't that you need to get healthy - get a strong support network at home cos you already have us here All the best and I look forward to reading more about your journey to success! Andie

Welcome Sur!
Glad you joined up, I, like Andie, find the support here to be invaluable. Writing supportive comments for others is a great distraction and leaves you with warm fuzzies! Medical conditions can be a very scary motivator to get started on the health wagon, good on you for taking the right steps towards positive change in your life! I would suggest making a diary in the diary section and we can all cheer you on in there. Good luck and stay strong

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi, I'm new here. This is my third time around. The first time was a breeze. Got to goal and lost 27kgs in 5 months. Second time around, I gave up after three months. I now have more weight to lose than ever before. I am using my old plan that I got the second time around (about three years ago). I know I shouldn't, but I can't afford to sign up again and I really need to lose the weight. I need motivation desperately.

Hi there. Welcome back. I'm back again and same as you put on what I lost and then some! You're not alone and glad to have you on board the same boat! To ensure you get lots of suppprt and encouragement, make sure you keep posting. You will get back into the swing of things soon enough. Head over to the new diaries section and start a diary. Mine helps keep me sane when I'm having a hard day. Anyway, good on you for making the decision to go back on plan. I look forward to reading about your progress.
Hugs Andie

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi everyone
I'm in week 2 of my program and enjoying it so far. I've tried other programs before but have seen amazing success that 5 of my friends have had with Cohen's, so I thought I'd give it a go. I have a lot to lose (55kg) which is a it daunting, but I'm feeling positive about it all and can't wait to see how I look at that weight! |
