Going well, Tuti. Robert Atkins New Diet Revolution, starting Chapter 3 on the effects of carbs was a real eye opener for me. I've found if I cut out most carbs I can eat quite a high calorie diet (nuts, cheeses) and not put on weight. As soon as I start eating carbs again, the weight piles on.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Week 1 Day 2 - Yoghurt and apple for brekky, Curry prawn stir fry for lunch(yum) and chicken snitzel and gravy for dinner.

Nothing much to report. I suppose I am getting into a groove now. I didn't feel hungry at all when I got up this morning. Although I did get a migraine headache last night and had to have a couple of panadol (usually I have something with codeine in it but thats not allowed) maybe thats got something to do with it. Before the onset of the headache I felt really good during the day and am glad to be at that stage of the program.

Cheers

Try some cinnamon with the apple and yoghurt if you're not already doing that, Tuti. Hope the headache was a one off.

Week 1 Day 3 over. Egg & tomato for brekky, Chunky fish bits for lunch and Peppered steak for dinner.

Had a peek :P at the scales this morning because I'm going to the clinic - another 900g down. I'm so blurried eyed in the morning that I was sure I was seeing things. I'm a very happy little vegemite at the moment

It is worth having vegetable strewn over the kitchen bench every meal time. I have a long kitchen bench and I fill it with bowls, scales, meat, vegies, cutting board, blender thingo, recipe book, Cohens book etc. All for one little meal

Cheers

Tuti

Hi Tuti

just catching up with some diaries. You are doing really great and you sound like you are in the zone now. And now the happy hormones are kicking in - gotta love that.

Heavens, Tuti, you're going to be at goal in no time at all at the rate you're moving! Congratulations on doing so well.

I know what you mean about the vegies on the bench. I seem to spend ages chopping up little bits of vegies. My scales live permanently on the kitchen bench now.

Week 1 Day 6 - Nothing much to report - everythings going well and I'm not too hungry anymore.

Yesterday was too hot to do anythink much so I sat down and worked out my menu for Easter because we are going away.

We have a little holiday house on the Murray River and are going there for four days. I always put on weight when I go there. I always blame the time sitting in the car -4 hours up and 4 hours back. Well I can't blame that this time! Not drinking alcohol will be the hardest part. I find the weekends really hard where alcohol is concerned and I'm not a big drinker - one or two drinks - that's it. It's just that feeling of relaxation part I enjoy.

AJ I have apple and cinnamon on my yoghurt every morning. I tried mango this week but prefer the apple. I bought some of the Black Swan natural yoghurt and it is really lovely.

My daughter came home from a school camp in Tasmania last night and bought me a lovely box of Roses chocolates from the Cadbury Factory. It is so hard not to have just one little chocky But I was strong and put all the chocolate in the outside beer fridge as far away from me as possible. I very rarely need to go to that fridge so I wont be confronted with it everyday. Chocolate is lucky to last a day in this house.

Quite awhile ago I stopped buying rubbish like chips, biscuits, chocolates etc so I don't have them in the cupboard it is just too tempting. So if anyone just drops in to my house there is no munchies on the table of bickkies for your coffee Maybe that's why we don't get any visitors

Well done with the chocolates, Tuti. Getting them out of the way is the best thing to do. When you're finished you can have them -- one at a time and well spaced out. Friends of ours from the US went to Tassie once and gave us a box of Cadbury's chocolates when they returned to us. A 5 kg box! I'm like you, no cakes or biscuits in the house; a cup of coffee here means just that. My husband is very strong minded when it comes to food and simply avoids anything that might increase his cholesterol levels. Unfortunately, I'm not strong minded in that area

Where's your holiday house? I grew up on a farm near Swan Hill. I expect you're holidaying further upstream.

The house is in Barooga. My parents have lived there for the last 12-13 Years. It's a lovely quiet little place. We have always loved Echuca but it is so busy there now. Yarrawonga is getting the same which is understandable because it's the only place you can get a boat in these days.

My husband bought a boat to go fishing on the Murray and I reckon the day he brought it home the Murray dried up. I really hope we can get some decent rainfall in the next year or two so the mighty Murray can fill up again.

Week two down.

I have lost another 400g so a total of 1kg for the week. I'm pretty happy with that. I figure if I can lose 1kg a week I will be at my goal by the end of April ( I have changed my ticker to show my weight - it's a bit more interesting and I might even weigh myself everyday to see what patterns in weight loss I have)

I ended up being home alone on Saturday night so I thought it was time to tackle my wardrobe! I sometimes wonder what was going through my mind when I bought some of hidious clothes I have

Well FOUR big black gargage bags later - I halved my wardrobe. I tend to keep everything just in case!

However rather than being the usually depressing job I had a great time trying everything on and looking much better than I have for sometime (years) I still need to keep most of my jeans and pants because that part of the bod is still a little slow to move but my tummy is a lot flatter so I don't have that muffin look anymore

Well done, Tuti. Hope you manage your 1 kg a week and more.

I think that being ready to get rid of old clothes is part of the journey. I've finally thrown out two bags full that I've held onto through several diets. I'm still planning on keeping the clothes I have when I get down to your weight, though. One day you'll feel ready to get rid of those clothes.

Week 2 Day 3 - Yoghurt & apple for brekky, Chunky Flake Bites for lunch and Fatija Salad for dinner.

Thanks AJ, AE and TNV for visiting my diary. Not much to report except another 500g down this morning

I suppose I am now in a pretty good groove with this diet. I can not believe how quickly I am losing weight and it is quite noticeable.

At 63kg I think I look good so I am a bit worried about getting to 58 another 5kg. In fact I can't even imagine being there.

I'm going away for a few days for Easter but have already organised a menu so hopefully I wont get caught out.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter

Cheers

Tuti

Well, 500 gms is certainly something to report, Tuti

Don't know if this will help, but I put a tape measure round me this morning, held out to my starting measurements. It looked really impressive. However, when I spread it out a bit, so the excess was spread around me more, it didn't look anywhere near as much. I remember seeing a post of Koh's on this somewhere, just don't remember where; perhaps he will see this and tell you. Anyway, What I'm trying to say is that even though you're unsure about losing any more, spread across your whole body it may not be anywhere near as significant as you are thinking.

Have a lovely Easter.
