Default Day 14 of 18 & all alone in Refeed Land

Refeed start weight 60.0 kg
Today's weight 59.9
Change - 0.1
Today's change 0.0

I've had the kids staying over the weekend, my niece and nephew aged 8 and 13, so not much sleep nor rest. I'm looking forward to a good long sleep in tomorrow. My hubby has Mondays off and I don't start work till 1.30pm so hopefully I'll catch up on the lost hours of sleep.

Today I got to try new veg. Had home grown baby carrots and home grown eggplant. They were ready just in time. The carrots are delicious raw and the eggplant is melt in the mouth good simply chargrilled. Lovely.

Thought I'd try some corn for my carb tonight. My home grown cobs aren't ready yet but I have some organic ones from the health food store.

I had my delicious banana French Toast for breakfast and whipped up some mango muffins with most of my CBs.

All in all a feast day today. Four more days of feasting, I do hope someone comes and joins me at the table. It could get bit lonely here in Refeed Land all on my own.

Koh-thanks for dropping by, always wonderful to see a friendly puppy. I am looking forward to maintenance...this Friday if all goes according to plan. I expect my food will be much the same, just no more weighing of everything, oh and I am planning to have muesli and yoghurt most days...for dinner! Yep the good doctor says we're allowed to eat it on maintenance, as long as we have it for dinner. I've really missed my home made organic muesli.

x

Default Day 15 of 18 & lowest weight on Cohens!

Refeed start weight 60.0
Today's weight 59.2
Change - 0.8
Today's change - 0.7

Wow, this is what a good sleep in and a BM before weighing will do for a girl! I just hope I get enough sleep for the next few days so my weight doesn't go up too much.

Another great day, I'm feeling better and better. Butter on my piece of toast today...amazing! Especially after I freaked out last night when my Hubby accidently put butter on my corn. Luckily I'd cooked 3 cobs and one of them was still naked.

Today I had AJ's chicken nuggets but added new protein in the form of minced lamb. I find this is a really easy way to addd new protein, I have some minced lamb straps and I add them to minced chicken for nuggets or minced beef for stroganoff.

Still only eating one piece of bread a day, I prefer crispbreads but one piece is nice...especially with butter!

Chailee--you'll get many mangoes and be on refeed one day too.

Irene- lovely to see you. I'll be starting that maintenance diary soon. Karaoke nights in Maintenance Land?

Suzie Q - I'm not lonely anymore, thanks for dropping in. Banana French Toast is the yummiest thing in the world. I recommend it for when you get to refeed.

It will be interesting to see what the scales say tomorrow.

x

You're almost there, LouLou, then it's just a matter of working out what and how much you can eat without adding weight.

I agree about that spelt bread. The woman who showed it to me is on some sort of detox diet, which includes no gluten, through a naturopath. She wanted some bread so he told her she could have some spelt bread. I doubt that he meant the sort of spelt bread she was eating, which included wheat and also soy. She had a very poor understanding of the foods she was eating, although she did say she was feeling a lot better.

I still had quite a lot of good fruits when they stopped, and I couldn't eat them until maintenance. I had to throw some out.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hi Loulou,

Woohoo !!! Another name to add to the list
Quote:
In case you are thinking the extra food will prevent that, think again.... I can recall many saying "You don't lose any more after Day 10 on refeed" - but I know of some that DID, even on Day 15.
Maybe we need to change the wording to - "You don't lose any more after Day 10 - unless you DO..."

Go, Loulou, you little champ,

Koh

Default Day 16 0f 18

Start refeed weight 60 kg
Today's weight 59.6
Change -0.4
Todays' change + 0.4

I'm not surprised my weight was up a bit today, no sleeping in and no BM before weighing. Had a BM later though, I am loving being so regular again.

Yesterday I felt fabulous all day, no headaches, not feeling uncomfortably full, no bloating but still quite a bit of the old bottom burbs (yes and odouriferous at that!)

Today I had my cuppa with milk, toast with butter and egg with veg and at one point thought I was going to throw up. I had exactly the same breakfast yesterday and felt perfectly fine. I just sat and breathed for a few minutes and the nausea passed but it was quite distressing at the time.

Today the new protein increases, the old protein decreases and lots of new veg. Trying some broccoli today as well as eggplant and carrot. I'll try and find some time later to add some more recipes to the Refeed Recipe thread. I'm trying out a lamb pizza today for lunch, if it's OK I'll post the recipe.

AJ- yes I used to eat exclusively from health food shops and still put on weight, not everything in them is all that healthy. I have a lovely pineapple that's calling out to me. I'll have to wait until Friday!

Koh- it is amazing to see those scales go down like that, mind you my two big drops on refeed have been after a loooong sleep in and a much later weigh in than normal. I remember Shell saying that if she waited until later to weigh her weight could drop as much as a kilo. However I am still down today from Sunday's weight and that's a bonus.

Three more days to go and I get a biscuit tomorrow, I'm going to buy some today. I also get some alcohol if I want but I don't want, I'd rather eat than drink any day!

x

Loulou

Good on you Loulou,

Only 3 more days!
The pizza sounds yummo.

I loved the biscuits (Scotch Finger), LouLou. However, I still have the rest of the packet in the cupboard.

I ate and drank everything on the plan through refeed. I wanted to test everything, and eat the maximum to see what happened. I was amazed that my weight remained so constant, given the ups and downs that I'd had during the diet.

Only two more days by the time you read this. Experiment gradually once on maintenance. I wish I'd been able to take the introduction of new foods more gradually when I entered maintenance.

Wow Loulou, lookin' good.......

Question, do you HAVE to eat EVERYTHING whilst on re-feed? Obviously you are supposed to but is it a must? From reading some re-feed diaries seems like some do struggle with the amount of food at times and I wouldn't want to force myself to eat if I was full.

Default Day 17 of 18

Refeed start weight 60 kg
Today's weight 59.6
Change -0.4
Todays change 0.0

What an amazing day, the USA elects their first black president and I get to eat a biscuit! Two momentous events.

I had two pieces of bread today so we'll see what the scales have to say about that tomorrow. I enjoyed the biscuit, organic of course with no numbers, additives or soy. I stood in the biscuit section of the health food store for ages reading all the packets.

Still a lot of rumbling in the abdomen an interesting sensation after 5 1/2 months of not a lot in there.

Shell- the lamb pizza was yummy and I've posted the recipe in the refeed section.

Irene- trust you to think that, it is absolutley definitely not the case.

AJ- I've eaten absolutely everything on refeed but I am allergic to alcohol...I know a tragedy isn't it. I like to smell a good wine but if I drink any alcohol I get an instant headache and nausea, like a bad hangover straight away. All the pain with none of the fun!

Suzie Q- yes we do have to eat everything on refeed except we have the option to not have milk and to exchange bread for crispbreads. They say that refeed is the most important stage of this diet so I'm following it to the letter. Amazingly enough I was HUNGRY yesterday. Oh yes it is possible on refeed, I know I'm not the only one who's experienced it this late in the piece. We are eating twice as much fruit as we were and sometimes that can cause the hunger.

One more day and two biscuits tomorrow.

Hooray

Default Last Day and Wedding Anniversary

Refeed start weight 60 kg
Today's weight 59.3
Change - 0.7
Today's change - 0.3

Well it looks like it's true, you can eat a LOT of food and still lose weight!

Tonight I'm giving rice a go for the first time. I had my biscuits with a cuppa this afternoon and it was very civilised.

I have a headache today but I think that's due to lack of sleep and work stress rather than something I've eaten.

Today is my fourth wedding anniversary and right from the very beginning of Cohens I had hoped to be finished on this day...and here I am, what a miracle. For the past couple of years I planned to lose weight in time for my wedding anniversary and it never happened. This year it did. But I can't wear my wedding dress...it's way too big, it swims on me now.

I felt a bit emotional today, this being my last day on Cohens. I know I'll continue to follow the maintenace guidelines but I won't have a plan in front of me that I have to stick to 100%, it's a very different part of the journey. This diet has worked so well, I am eternally grateful to the program, to my clinic and to all the support on this forum. Thank you all for all your encouragement, advice and love, it's made it so much easier to stick with it and get to where I am now.

Tomorrow I'll start my maintenance diary, it feels so good to be here.

x

Loulou
