Re: Suga's Diary
Week 3!!! I can not believe I have come this far without not eating anything that I'm not meant to. I'm feeling really good at the moment. I lost 3.5kilos this week (week 2) so my overall loss in 2 weeks is 6.1kg. Gotta be pretty happy with that . I have found that when I'am not at work it is harder for me to remember to drink all my water. Sooo excited for next week as I thinky I may be in the 90's As some of you may know the Biggest Loser is back on (ep3) today and I love this show so have been watching (and crying my eyes out). It could not have come at a better time really as I think this show is very inspirational for those battling to lose weight and gives me that extra bit of determination. Does anyone else follow the show? Hope ya'll are doing well. Suga x |

Re: Suga's Diary
Hi Suga
Congratulations on your weight loss I also watch Biggest loser and at the moment i am wondering why they are putting themselves through so much pain and anguish. We are losing weight without the pain. Think i much prefer that. I think we should send them all a link to the Cohen web page By the way Suga did your funny teeth go way mine has i have noticed today they have not been feeling weird all day. Cheers Bev |

Re: Suga's Diary
Hey Bev,
Thanks heaps. You know i thought the same thing, but in reality Cohen's is not for everyone, some of us need to be pushed, need to have someone watching over us etc. Some people are just so emotionally/mentally broken that they need serious help and guidance and wouldnt be able to fix their "eating problem" on their own no matter how hard they tried. I personally love the Biggest Loser and would really like to be in a place like that (couldnt do it on telly though), not so much for the eating side of things (I have that under control for now) but for the fitness. I hope to become a fitness junkie when im at maintenance so that I never ever get to where I'am today again. Hope you are doing well Suga x |

Re: Suga's Diary
Im doing great thanks Suga
So far i am finding it almost easy. Its easy to eat the food because it is all stuff that i ate before i guess im just eating less and without added junk food or alcohol I do miss having a bourbon at night but i guess i can cope for a wee while. Other than the few headaches, shoulder aches, teeth weirdness and now breathlessness im doing okay. Not even thought about deviation Glad you are doing so well. Cheers Bev |

Re: Suga's Diary
~Week 4 - Day 1 ~
So here I'am the beginning of the end of my first month on Cohens. I have lost 1.4 kilos this week(week 3), which is a great loss really....however I was a lil disapointed as I was hoping to be under the 100 mark....but hey we cant lose 3.5 kilos every week (my week 2 loss ). Week 3 was good, slight deviations where my water is concerned and not eating all of my lunch on Sunday....I had a tuna salad and ate about 4 mouth fulls and threw the rest out....I couldnt stomach it. I was okay with the Tuna at first, however now it just tastes too bland and dry, even if i put vinegar or mayo on it. I going to give tuna a miss for a few weeks. I'am still yet to eat anything I shouldnt (thank God). However I have had big urges this week to go on a massive junk food binge, but have stayed strong. I have found this week that some meals, mostly diner I struggle to finish, in saying that I do make sure to eat all that is on my plate. I made reservations for Valentines Day last week and plan to order off the menu (cohens friendly ofcourse). Im a little paranoid about this....hope I do OK. Im confident that THIS upcoming week I will fall below the 100 mark!! 7.5 kilo loss in 3 weeks....I guess I cant really complain about that Hope you are all doing fabulously. Suga x |

Re: Suga's Diary
Hey Sugar,
You are doing fabulous. I see your last post is on 1st feb so I hope you will be in 90's by now .. Even I tried Tuns steak with salad today and my god, It took all the willpower in the world not to throw it out, I found it tasteless and couldnt chew and just gulp it down. Tortured myself and took about 40 mins to finish the whole thing, because I am paranoid about making a deviation. I am never eating tuna again not on the diet and hopefully not ever. About valentines day, from now till then whenever u make dinner, you can have a good look at your plate so that u could have approximately the same measure that day..

~ Week 4 - Day 4 ~
FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! I'am under the 100!! Only just though 99.9 but meh, im there . My weightloss hasnt been that great this week thus far...I hope i can lose atleast 1 kilo before wednesday. Well today will be my first challenge day...iam meeting up with some ladies from my old work for a catch up lunch at a pub where we use to have lunch every friday. Originally i was going to take my lunch with me...hwever embarassement took over and i decided to leave it at home. I timed my breaky this morning so i could have my lunch at 2. In the past whilst dieting any excuse to deviate would do for me. No matter how big or small the occassion it was a great "excuse" to just have a "free" day, but it never ended up being a free day the day went on and on for months/years until the next diet. BUT not this time, this time i have no plan to deviate today and I am feeling pretty confident about it. Dont feel phased at all. Im going there with the mind set that, that food is what got me in this position in the first place and instead of looking at is as food I will be looking at it for what it really is "fat", that will turn me right off . |

Re: Suga's Diary
Yay Suga
Good luck with lunch today.. RE tuna, I use the tinned tuna (in springwater) - if u add a bit of mayo, some balsamic vinegar, and a bit of pepper and onion (from allowance) sliced finely and mix it all together then add it to what ever else you are having it does give it a yummy flavour.. In 2 weeks I use 3-4 500g tins of tuna (but if u actually measure it, it is about 340g on a good day).. Hope that helps in regards to eating tuna |

Re: Suga's Diary
Thanks Bev & Cobie.
Cobie, I have tried my tuna as you suggested but without the balsamic ( I dont like the stuff) I use white vinegar. I will try again next week see how I go. Lunch went really well actually, there was pizza, chicken schnitzel, chips and gravy all the yummy foods I (use) to like to eat . I wasnt tempted at all it didnt even phase me or feel like I was missing out. i actually felt bad for the ones eating it, thinking "you really dont know what you are feeding your body do you". I didnt say that ofcourse...who am i to tell ppl what to eat? A few of them I think felt bad for me as they offered me some of their salad and said "can't you even have a leaf of somthing" I laughed and said, no I cant, but thank you. They were good though they told me I have done so well so far and to keep going. That was nice . I was telling my husband how funny it was that when you are in the mindset of dieting and losing weight that you actually take note of the fats etc in foods and think to yourself "I cant believe I would eat all the stuff without a single thought". I think it is safe to say that I'am officially "in the zone!"! Yey I made it! I thought I might write abit about myself today as I havnt previously done so. So here it goes - I am 27 years old and have been overweight for almost 20 years, im 172cm tall and have been married for 11 months. When I was about 8y.o I had my tonsils removed, before I had this procedure I was a normal weight, healthy kid. Mum tells me 3 months after the operation I had "ballooned" she took me to the doctors and they advised it was because of the removal of my tonsils. Anywho the diets from my memory began at the age of 10, mum cut out all the junk in my diet and I was eating normally...I remember this lasted about 2 weeks and I was wrapped as I had lost a kilo or 2(cant remember exactly). But then one day we went to the Fairfield Showgrounds in Syndey and if anyone who has been there will though that there are quite a lot of food vans and the smell of the hot chips (my fav) had me asking for some....and i got some! So that was the fail of my very first attempt of trying to eat healthy. A few years later in high school I went on this program called "herbal life" it involved pills and some liquid stuff that you had to mix in with juice of what have you....I cant remember how long I did that for but it wasnt for very long at all. We moved up to QLD from SYD in 2001, I was 15 when we moved here, and in 2002 weighing at 111.something kilos I joined Jenny Craig for the first time. I was 16. Stayed on that for a while and lost around 12 kilos. Got sick of eating microwaved foods. Going back to 2000 I developed gall stones, and let me tell you I would not wish this on my worst enemy, it is the most excrusiating pain anyone can go through. The pains were few and far between so I was not too concerned. But come 2003 I was in agony 2-3 times a week sometimes more, the pain would get set off my certain foods...so it came to a point where I was too scared to eat anything just incase it would triger the pain, and so I lost a bit of weight there on my own. That year I had my gall bladder removed. Anyway years to follow, I went back on J.C, didnt work, tried the shakes, lost 10kg, didnt learn anything from it obviously so the weight came back on. Tried W.Watchers...again didnt succeed. And THEN I heard of these terrific weight loss pills (Duromine) - (please stay away from these ppl, they are a prescribed drug and do more harm then good). I started taking them in 2007 and got down to my lightest weight of 89.9 kilos. I couldnt stay on the pills as they give you severe mood swings, depression, heart pulputations, sleeplessness and the list goes on. Once I got off these pills I slowly put the weight back on. Between 2007 and 2010 I would attempt the previously named diets again and surprise surprise I FAILED....AGAIN. In 2010 I was planning my wedding when I decided to give Cohens a go ( a friends mother was on it, completed it, and had lost a staggering amount of weight so I had the proof right there in front of me). I started at 103.somthing kilos due to my focus being on my wedding plans and the stress of it all I only lasted on the program 2-3 weeks. In 2011 I got married weighing 97kilos. Since then to the start of my 2nd attempt of Cohens I had put on 10kilos. And somthing finally clicked and I thought right, I can not live like this any longer, not only for me, but for my husband, my marriage and my (God willing) children (to be). So here I'am over 4 weeks in and 8 kilos down and going strong. I really beleive this is it for me. No going back. I cant go back, if i go back it will be the end of me. Thanks for reading (sorry if i bored anyone) Cheers, Suga x |

Re: Suga's Diary
Oh I forgot to mention the "click" for years I have always been around size 16-18 (mostly 16) and the week I started Cohens I was in a change room trying on some pants for work (size 1 and they didnt fit. At this point my underwear was even tight and I knew I had hit rock bottom and needed do somthing about it. I actually never had plans to go back on Cohens until my sister pushed me towards it. I had plans to lose weight but with other fad diets...ya would think I would have learnt by lesson by now right? Anyway thank God for my sisters push or I might have been doing the silly stuff at present or have even "given up" by now.

Re: Suga's Diary
Hi Suga,
I know what you mean about underwear. Thats one of the reasons why I hate being fat. In the last 2 years, Ive been going up underwear size (started with prengnancy), and never got back down to my pre-pregnancy underwear. And with bras... I had to get some of those bra extenders because I cant get my bras to fit right. Uggh. Fortunately, my underwear is now getting roomier --- hahaha I can imagine it can turn into granny-panties in a several weeks! Im sure by now you've noticed a difference with underwear, too. Congratulations about being in the 90s! MM |

Re: Suga's Diary
Wow Sugar! I loved reading about you! Its awesome to know what others are like and how similar we all are here on Cohens. I have also had my gall bladder out, it was the most terrible pain. It sounds like you are in the right head space now which is awesome I tripped over a small hurdle on Saturday, but back on track now and im trucking along also. Sometimes when like reading your diary I think of my own journey and wonder why I didnt try to lose the weight years ago, but perhaps I just wasnt ready, guess there are reasons for everything huh!

Re: Suga's Diary
Thanks Koh.
Hey MM, LOL@ granny panties. It's true, that will defs will be the case in weeks to come. Hi Snuggly, Thanks for dropping by, its funny that you did cause I started reading your diary yest but got interupted and didnt get to finish. Will get back there today. Ahhhh we can be ex-g.stone buddies . Indeed there are reasons for everything and everything happens when its meant to. I strongly believe this. Your mind and life has to be at a good place to stick to somthing like this, cause really for me its like giving up an addiction (junk food addiction) giving up and kind of addiction is not easy. Perhaps if you did try years ago you may have not succeeded, but now you will |
