Re: Panda's Diary
Yes - me too. I think that is one of the reasons why it is so great to be part of this forum.
On the other hand, I found it a bit dangerous to compare and keep telling myself that we are all different people in different bodies so we will get to our own targets in our own ways - slower or faster. |

Re: Panda's Diary
WOW! Your diary was such a great and inspiring read just as I am nearing the end of my second week - and I am struggling BIG TIME!
You have done sooooo amazingly well, and I want that too. I have to get back on track right now! Congratulations babe, I will keep popping in to your diary for more inspiration and motivation as I get back my mojo! Bells xx |

Re: Panda's Diary
Thanks Bells - I'll go visit your diary. Kenga, I know what you mean about comparing one another - and I think it's important not to set too unrealistic goals. I keep working out in my head how long this is going to take. I reckon if I was a bloke it would all fall off in 5 months (sorry guys) but for us finely tuned girlies I have a feeling each layer will have its own time frame (sigh!).

Re: Panda's Diary
Hi Panda, FAR OUT !!!! That is a fantastic loss for 4 weeks Your ticker is so appropriate for you, that wee girl sprinting down the beach is just like you sprinting down the weight loss chart 10 kgs gone and 38 to go.That leaves you with 6 kgs to go and you will be a 3rd of the way there Could you have imagined in your wildest dreams that you would ever discover a program that works so efficiently ?

Re: Panda's Diary
Thanks Mumandnana. That's a positive way to look at it - could be a third of the way there by next weigh in. Thanks! I chose the ticker because I like the little bumps/hills of sand - shows how we all have to run up a few little hills and overcome some hurdles but will get there as it's really quite a flat course! Too deep for Sunday? x

Re: Panda's Diary
Apparently boys lose weight faster because of their testosterone and we dont really want more of that it can have some nasty side effects for us girls! However I was told once at a naturpath clinic that if you take a lot of flaxseed tablets/oil that it would help you to lose weight more like a man - I have never really taken enough flaxseed to put it to the test so Im not sure if it really does work. Maybe someone else may have heard of it and tried.

Re: Panda's Diary
Louise that's interesting! I was referring to my hubby and some other male friends. If they want to lose a lot of weight they just give up chocolate or wine or something and it falls off!! Small effort compared to what I have to give up! Maybe flaxseed is something to think about!

Re: Panda's Diary
I'm feeling a bit run down today! I've had egg and mushies for breakfast - my fav breakfast as it doesn't use up any extras like the yoghurt or cheese does - because with the others I need crackers, sweetener or fruit - and it leaves me a bit short later in the day when I need those things. I OD'd on chewing gum yesterday - ended up not counting 2 sweeteners in my yoghurt and had five bits of gum. Hope that's not considered a serious deviation!
I'm waiting for blood test results from the clinic which I had on Friday. I'm also feeling a bit glum about my DRY SKIN.... feel like a lizard! well my legs and feet do. I guess that's the low fat portion of the plan kicking in. I take zinc, one flaxseed oil and drink all my water. Anyone got any ideas what else? Or will it go away?

Re: Panda's Diary
I've almost completed week 5 and feel like this weeks been a total muck up. I've made a couple of stupid mistakes and discovered a few things that aren't clear in the instructions which have caused me to deviate in error.... I'm going to get clarification from the clinic
- Chewing gum - gum comes in a variety of sizes - do they mean 5 sticks of 18 g of gum or 5 sticks of 35g of gum? - I've just learned I can't use powdered sweetener although my plans says packs of Splenda oK - I thought you couldn't mix fruits but P33 of recipe book does. - I've just discovered my yoghurt and curry powder are wrong - not specified again the plan - I picked up what I thought was a can of diet sprite last night (I don't drink it often). Only realised on last sip that it was fat sprite! Help. My measurements are non-existent this week - about 1.5 cms down. Still not going to weigh myself though until week 8.

Re: Panda's Diary
[QUOTE=Panda;270145]
Once I get my weigh in I'll put up my ticker. Bit disheartening if it's got not losses on it so won't bother till I can have some weight loss to show. Hi Panda, I was going back through your diary and I had to laugh because you were worried about putting your ticker up in case you had no weight loss for your first month and it turned out you had a massive 10 kg loss ! That was the neatest news and such a boost to your journey. Don't worry about your unintended slip ups, there is nothing that can be done about it, just read over your program as often as you can until you really understand it and read the helpful stickies on the forum for what is bad and to be avoided. Who does not make mistakes sometimes? Keep sprinting down that beach wee lady and when the sprint becomes a jog just watch the miles get eaten up by perseverance. |

Re: Panda's Diary
Hi again Panda, ring your clinic and find out about your blood test results.I don't think they ring us about that unless something is wrong.I rang about mine as I am interested in that sort of thing.
I hope you are feeling a bit better now.Learn from the mistakes but don't allow them to drag you down.I got the timing wrong by quarter of an hour once fairly early on and when my friends pointed it out to me I felt really bad and thought I had wrecked the entire week.Worrying changes nothing and creates other problems.Keep asking about the things that are confusing you.You can mix your fruit portions.Say for example you want a fruit salad and you are allowed 3 fruits, just prepare 3 fruits that are on your program in a container and use one third per serving. If you are allowed 2 fruits select 4 allowed fruits and cut them up in a container and have half the container in two serves through one day and the same the next day.We just are not allowed to eat more than the equivalent of one serve per snack or meal. I hope I have made sense. All the very best. |

Re: Panda's Diary
Thanks for all your suggestions mumandnana (keep thinking in my head this is muma and abanana!!) I had a bad week so I got on scale to make sure everything working and I'm 4 kilos down. I guess I should have waited for week eight but needed to check. I'll update my ticker with glee and then wait for the the 8 week weigh in.
I'm also not too worried about the errors now - just so long as they don't happen too often. You just have to move on don't you?
