Hey Jo!

Day 12 already! Mmmmm this gaining of weight doesn't sound too good! Hope it stops there!! Seriously, the food increases is initially really difficult to get used to so quickly. I was told that if you really can't eat it all, don't force yourself.

Hope hubby's sore back improves soon! They can be really uncomfortable, sore backs!!

Keep going strong!

Vee

Chill, babe! The weight gain is a natural fluctuation! It will be gone tomorrow! You might want to check if it was the milk that did it though. A lot of people say they get bloated and farty from that stuff!
You're slim and fab! No two ways about it!

Hey babe
It seems like a huge amount of food...so no wonder the scales have gone up a bit.
Big teddy's huh? Sounds even better than the tiny ones. I'm hanging for that cup of tea with milk - are we meant to have low fat or regular?

Hope the boy has been behaving - I reckon mine is going to be a bit of a Ferris Bueller...

Greetings

Day 13 refeed

Weight stable at 65.1kg

Hey I am not stressing about the weight gain, nobody could shovel that much food and not gain some. Feels like it is sitting like a brick in the bowels it has gone in but it hasn't come back out again. More fruit, more fruit!! Besides I always seem to drop weight when TOM hits, its due on Monday.

OK today brings me more new protein, new veges and..................(drum roll please)........carbs!!! What is means in real terms is........I am cooking roast lamb for dinner and I actually get to eat some lamb, some broccoli/carrots and a little bit of potato. OMG what a treat that will be.

Rach - Don't stop reading!!! I will try to behave (rereads end of last paragraph ooooooops) Sorry babe!

Michele - Sorry about the sore tum, my surgical tools are at the ready whenever you need me.

Vee - Don't worry, I couldn't eat it all, haven't been force feeding myself. I ran into a friend of mine this morning and I was talking about this oversupply of food, she said she never had a problem eating it all. She is a Cohenite. She also suggested that all the food was sitting patiently sitting in my intestines. BTW she said I looked fantastic and has apparently been telling mutual friends how great I look and trying to convert them to the Cohens way. Me........a role model........NO WAY.

Mette - It didn't disappear today but I'm not stressing. I do have a tummy ache though, think the bowels might need a kick along. I guess the new foods are bound to change things in that area too. Not worried.........I have still lost 35kg.

Yeti - I am going the low-fat option. I didn't used to drink much milk pre-Cohens, it gave me tummy aches. Probably just a little lactose intolerance. So now you really understand about the Teddy's.......... bring it on. My son is very bright, teaches the teachers bright, doesn't even have to try bright BUT he is painfully lazy. Actually picking up a pencil is too much of an effort for him. But let him type......no probs. The teacher said that if he just writes the way he talks and thinks he will kick the Year 5 tests butts. He is working 2 levels above where he needs to be for Maths, Science etc its just the creative writing that needs work. His spelling, grammar, punctuation all ROCKS, its just the writing grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The teacher says she watches him and she suspects he overthinks what he needs to do. So lets recap........too smart, easily bored, can talk his way out of any situation..........definitely some Ferris traits showing here too.

Must go check the patient

Jo

Greetings

Day 14 refeed

Weight down 200grms to 64.9kg

And yes, the weight loss was nice, so was the bowel movement TMI sorry.

Ok today I get more new protein, more new veges, bread, milk and carbs. Sweet!!!

Last nights roast lamb was a complete success, and yummy to boot. I had the crunchy knuckle bit of the leg drool. I had 2 tiny roast potatos, some broccoli. Potatos are not as delicious as I remember them how did that happen?????

Hubby is straightening up nicely, still not straight but not looking like Quasimodo either. He has been to the physio this morning and that does seem to help abit. Having him home is odd, he managed to upset the child before I even got up this morning, barking orders at him. It took me 25 minutes to get the child to talk. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. He is also wanting to know what I am doing, hint hint, code for get off the computer I want it grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Not gunna happen fella..........its mine, all mine (maniacal laugh).

Time for morning tea

Jo

hi jo

how's it going petal? i finally made it to your refeed diary (i'm always late, it seems ). sounds like a very interesting journey so far. glad to read that you've gotten some new pjs!!

i almost wanted to stop reading though - just the mention of a biscuit in a few days, pineapple and bread. hmmm. yum! guess i'll get there in a few more months.

anyway, take it easy and hope hubby is ok.

cc
p.s. is the slight rise in the economy due to your shopping habits??

Greetings

Refeed Day 15

Weight down 500grms - 64.4kg

See, I told ya, it was all girlie stuff related. Now back to weight I was on day 2 of refeed, and ties for lowest ever

Today..........well look aware those with a drooling issue. I got to have butter/marg on a piece of bread. Of course it was toast for me!!!! It was good, not mind blowingly fantastic but nice. Also extra new protein and extra new veges.

We spent the day in the City today. Boy child is developing an illness, pale skin, blocked nose, cough grrrrrrrrrrr hubby slightly straighter and starting to get cheeky again, just gave me the strangest hug ever, kind of came in low and sly .

CC - Oh yes hon, new PJ's, bet your jealous! I have been a little crazy with the shopping recently. I bought some purple leggings afew days ago, put them on and unfortunately I was also wearing a purple/grey striped hoodies and purple socks, 3 completely different shades of purple. Hubby said I looked like one of the knights of the round table????? What, the round table for the colour challenged??? Biscuit day is Monday, not looking forward to it or anything hey??

Rach & DIFM - Oh yeah baby, now we have leftover roast lamb...........usually best with chips and fried eggs, DAMMIT!! Maybe a nice boring salad instead. I can hear hubby in the kitchen, God only knows what he is up to. I strongly support the roast as a good proper meal.

Anyway...................

Fat melters to all

Jo

Sorry to hear about the little one - kiddie illness is hard for everyone. Lamb sounds like the stuff of dreams. I can't deny it, I'm pretty hungry. Only four more kilos to refeed though, so wooohooooo then it's lamb for me too!!
Monday is B-day? Share the joy my love....

Hi Snugglebear,

I am really enjoying reading your refeed diary, i am getting some idea for what i am in for very soon when i hit refeed.

I can't wait for the extra food that i can have. One thing i have missed is bread, toast and bananas so it will be good to try them again and see if i still enjoy them as much as i did before.

Thanks for sharing your reffed diary with us all.

Cheers
Purple Lady

Greetings

Refeed Day 16

Weight up 300grms - 64.7kg

Down old protein, up new protein, down on up old veg, up new veg, marg on one piece of bread. Yeah yeah, whatever, bring on Wednesday.

Child is over whatever illness was bearing down on him yesterday. Today he is back to his normal selfish self..........oh yes, completely forgot about Mother's Day. Was giving me one of his big cons this morning, I said "It's Mothers Day, give me a break!". He said "Oh, Happy Mothers Day". That is it people. He didn't even bother to give me the card he made for me at school. He didn't even give me the presents that I bought for me to give to him, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr How lazy is that???? After I pointed this out to him, in the hubby's presence, he has gone very sheepish and is avoiding me. Hubby has gone out to get me something from the chemist, Cepacaine, I have a mouth infection now, child is nowhere to be seen. See I told you he was smart didn't I?? Hubby is going to see his mother this afternoon, I might suggest he take his brat with him.

Yeti - After the day I am having today I want that bikky today. With the cup of tea I had to make for myself Don't start working yourself up into refeed mode, believe it or not your body might not turn to starvation mode the instant you hit the top end of your target range. Or perhaps it will Hey, had some leftover lamb for dinner, still pretty darned good.

Purple Lady - OMG You are doing so well, good for you. Not far to go now...............when you get here it just isn't as exciting as you think it would be It is weird that I am just not enjoying the things I thought I was really hanging out for. Potato....ok, not great. Bread.....take it or leave it. Carrots ......strangely are still great. I just hope tomorrow's biscuit is what I have built it up to be in my mind. Fingers Crossed.

Take care all

Jo

Hi Jo,

Quote:
Status Quo 64.6kg (guessing my body has chosen it's weight)
Gee, you weren't wrong on Day 7, were you? As always, everyone is different. But yours is the first refeed diary I can recall where their weight seemed to stay roughly within a 0.5Kg range (maybe you stepped outside once...) But, hey, how STABLE is that?

A few more days to go (Wed, is it?) - it'll be interesting to see if that same stability remains. Since you're within 0.5Kg of the stated Cohens goal, AND your body seems to have retained around that weight despite the extra food, gee it's looking REALLY good for Maintenance, Jo !!

Go, girl - roll on Wednesday - just remember to step softly into Maintenance (don't try to add too many different foods too soon) and all should be really well !!

Hugs,

Koh

ROSES??? WHAT ROSES???????

I am kinda invisible today. I had to give the kid another talk about the evils of not spoiling Mum rotten on Mother's Day . Only the threat of treating him the same way on his birthday seemed to make an impact.

Vee - We are going out for a Mother's Day lunch next weekend, so I guess we will try it all again then (heavy sigh). I must admit the hubby is a doll.

Koh - Tip toe, tip toe, don't worry I will be very careful (probably until Saturday ). Seriously I do plan to be very careful and also have a diary so I can take note of any new foods I try, so if there is a bad reaction I will be able to remember what is was caused by. You telling me that mine is the first stable(ish) diary actually makes me more nervous, I don't wanna be different. I'm not like other girls Buffy!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr. The time I stepped out was when I was abit ..............ummmmmmmmmm......blocked , so I'm not really taking it too seriously. I have been watching my hydration levels, seems to be fairly stable, with 1% point, so I guess that is good??? I still can't eat all the food, stopped trying, I just eat what I can. No point stuffing myself, but I do always try to eat the new stuff when it comes. My fruit intake seems to be what is suffering. I am eating so much during meals that the snacks just aren't happening, I guess that is a good thing, no between meal snacks, a good habit to develop, maybe??? The top of my range is actually 66kg, so I am happy to be 1-1.5kg under. Fingers crossed it will stay that way.

I am not sharing what I ate today, I don't want to upset the hungry readers out there. Let's just say Day 16 rocks.

Kisses for all

Jo

Oh honey, sounds like it's been a shocker. You need some pampering, gosh darn it! Why the hell else do we have a Mother's Day?? Wish I was there, we could go and see a movie and leave the boys to themselves...

I'm not in any rush for refeed anymore. I'm feeling good, and I would love to hit that stable weight that you've discovered by holding out that bit longer. My ticker states 66kg as my goal, which is the top of my goal range, so I'm going to get to that first and then see how I'm feeling...

I spotted the teddy biscuits at the supermarket yesterday. I walked past them, but I know where they live...

HI Jo,

Been far too long since i popped in to say hi.

Great to catch up on your diary. Am impressed by how stable you have been in refeed. Bodes well for maintenance.

Having two sons I know the frustration of ungrateful boys. Two birthdays in a row my eldest son actually refused to even say "happy birthday." Happily today he brought me a plant and planted it in one of my pots - what a turnaround. Hang in there your son sounds a lot like mine - too bright at times for his own good.

Ah, hope you enjoy your teddy tomorrow. I would love one with a cuppa - so enjoy yours for us all.

Keep up your great work
Shanara

Hey beautiful lady, I'm so sorry I haven't been by the past few days - so hugely selfishly busy!
Big hugs and happy mother's day! Sends you lots of hugs and virtual roses! (and yes, it's still mother's day here, so it counts! I didn't forget!)
You're going great guns, pretty lady! Told you that weight would be gone in no time!

Greetings

Refeed Day 17

Weight up 100grms to 64.8kg

Today is Teddy day!! I am saving him for a little after dinner treat. Woooooooot!!

I have todays menu all figured, have even weighed out tonights veges, snowpeas, chinese cabbage, some carrot. Making a little stir fry........having it with just a little rice. I guess somehow I am trying to hurry today up just a smidge. Todays changes are just changes in proteins and vege quantities, boring, the teddy is the big news Who would have thought 9 months ago that I would so excited about a bear shaped biscuit???

Yeti - Yeah, holding out does seem to do the trick doesn't it?? More than I can eat and still not piling on the pounds, great I can live without pampering, I want recognition, dammit. I have to go easy on the kid now, he has the Grade 5 exams this week and I don't need him to be stressed. School has asked us to make sure they are well-fed, well rested and relaxed. Their wish is my command, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Shanara - You are the second person to stay my stable weight bodes well for maintenance. Fingers crossed. Boy child is waaaaaay too smart. Mostly I love it, but sometimes I think I would like a normal child, you know, a kid with an IQ lower than mine. And mine is 147!!!!! He would kick my butt across the paddock without even trying, (heavy sigh).

Becstar - Yahoooooooo! Right behind me............no I didn't look, the dog would have barked if you were sneaking up IRL. Must go check for your refeed diary, is there one?? Glad I could help with a couple of menu idea...........refeed does seem to create some strange meals though, you will find out soon enough my dear. Add this, subtract that............brain hurts must sit down.

Mette (my good child) - Virtual roses count, thanks much. I have calmed down since yesterday. Alex still can't seem to manage to put his dirty dishes into the dishwasher (heavy sigh) but he did offer to make me a cup of tea. Unfortunately it was after I had already got the cup, put the teabag in, added the sweetener, filled the jug, and boiled it. Little sod wanted credit for pouring hot water and adding milk. No on your life. He can do it from scratch next time, grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I don't mind that you are hugely selfishly busy, in fact I think its great if YOU are abit selfish, you deserve time to do stuff that you want to do.
So how is the whole "get your bum back to Australia thing" going????

TOM is imminent, belly ache, grumpy and tired. TMI, I know, just venting, sorry

Take care (sprays kisses left, right and centre)

Jo
