Hi Suzie - just thought I would pop in and catch up on your journey. You're going great guns on pre-cohens!! Great job at the family lunch!

Isn't it dismal here today - looking out my office window I just want to go grab a mug of hot chocolate (but I won't - chamomile tea will have to do the trick).

Thanks for the advice on the affirmations - I'm still compiling my list - it's harder than I thought it would be and quite confronting, but I am worth it. We All Are!!

Keep up the great work

Default Hi Amanda

Yeah it's one of those snuggle down with a doona days here isn't it. I love the rain though, gives us an excuse to not leave the house. The boys had a PJ day today since we didnt' go anywhere.

At first when I decided to do the affirmations I thought how cheesy is this, but somehow they do work.

I think they keep your focus on positive things instead of negative and that's a good thing. I sometimes find my mind is absolutely racing with all these different thoughts until it gives me the biggest headache....now if I realise my mind is racing I tell myself to stop and think "my mind is calm" and picture the beach with the sun on the water..........how freakin' corny is that? But it works for me!! Us girls think to much.....

Hey did you see in the Challenges and Competitions forum I put in a post asking if anyone is interested in starting a comp to lose 10kg in 6 weeks? Noone has responded so far, would you be interested? I know I probably won't lose that much in 6 weeks since I haven't even got my program yet but it's worth a shot.

Suzie

I've just looked at your ticker, Suzie. I think that the only person who's gone into the 40s while I've been on the forum is Maya. Have a look in her diary. She posted some photos there today.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Well we have a few now wanting to do the challenge, cool! Roxy just jump in when you are ready. Tara you crack me up, I'm glad the aliens have left the kitchen.

Okay so, we'll have to find out when everyone's weigh in days are. I do mine on Sundays. If you can go to the challenge forum and put details in then we can make a start.

My mind is calm...........can't you just see me on top of a mountain in Tibet somewhere?

Thanks AJ, I will have a peek at Maya's pics.

Sorry Tara I forgot, I will be joining the program on 15th July (when hubby gets paid) he only gets paid monthly....sigh. And it will probably take a week or so to get my program so I'd say it won't be for 2 more weeks.

Good luck for July 15th suzie. If I was you I would get the blood test done as quickly as possible as they cant give you your program until they get the results. My program took just over a week to arrive after I had my blood taken. I read someone saying that you can probably get 80% of the benefits on precohen so at leaset your well on the way
Roll on payday!!!!

That's a good idea of Louise's, Suzie. You could see if you can get a referral from the clinic before the 15th so that your blood test results are waiting there when you pay, and can be sent to Dr Cohen immediately.

Probably you will find that your food costs are reduced with the diet and you will save the cost of the programme with reduced supermarket costs.

Default I'm way ahead of you AJ and Louise!

When I went for the info session on the 29th June I was given a pathology form to take home so I have that. I plan to get my blood work done 2 days before payday so they come back just in time for me to join up.

I asked the consultant when I was at the info session when I should get them done. She advised not to early otherwise the blood results would get sent to the clinic but they wouldn't know who the heck I was as I haven't joined yet.

Thanks for the advice guys.....patience is a virtue .

Well, it's only a few more days until you can sign up, Suzie, and your programme might come back very quickly. .

Default Missed lunch and was tempted.........

Ahhh forgive me father for I ALMOST sinned.........

Well I was out and about today with the kids and missed my lunch, needless to say I was absolutely starving by 6pm as all I had eaten was yoghurt for brekky at 9am. As a result of my missed meal I was very tired and grouchy and was not in the mood to make dinner.

Then the idea of take out chinese came to mind which ofcourse hubby would have been more than happy with . He was actually encouraging me saying well once you start the program in a week or so you won't be able to have it then so you may as well do it now.

I did entertain the thought seeing as I'm not actually on the program yet. I thought yeah I could just not have rice or carbs but some chilli prawns and chicken chowmein without the noodles. I seriously was going to do it, I was looking at the menu!

Then the guilt kicked in, I thought how much I will be down on myself if I give in to this temptation even if I am not having carbs - there is still a lot of oil used in Chinese take out. And, happy to say I decided to make my dinner after all and it was yummy. Hubby and kids had left over vege and lentil soup I made last night so they were okay as well.

I know this is just going to be one of those things I have to be strong about, it's so easy to give in when feeling weak - and the idea of not having to cook for me is heaven as hubby doesn't cook at all. I really have to try not to miss any more meals. I missed a lunch last week and was crazy tired by dinner time and was so crabby. One day at a time......

A lesson learned, Suzie. You must not miss meals, so you need to be prepared for occasions like today.

Not being able to have a meal that someone else has cooked for me is one of the things I miss most.

Default Clothes.....

Well as hard as it has been I have managed to stay away from the scales all week, tomorrow is my weigh day and I have my fingers crossed. I haven't eaten anything I shouldn't so hopefully all will be okay.

One good sign is I fit into my size 14 jeans! Honestly 2 weeks ago I could barely get them on, I wouldn't wear them in public as I looked like a sausage stuffed into them and had muffin top...not a good look. But, yesterday I put them on and they fit, with a little extra room even - that has to be a good sign that I've lost more weight right? ahhh come on Sunday.

I've had a pretty stressful couple of days, won't go into details but let's just say home has not been a very happy place of late. So I took off down the coast with the kids just for the night to get away to stay with family. I've come up with a pimple like a small planet on my chin and feel totally run down and miserable at the moment. Anyway, due to the stress of late I haven't been eating all meals, especially yesterday and I nearly fainted last night which was a bit of a worry. So I quickly made myself an omellette and bok choy, I felt a bit better after that.

One thing I'm bummed about is I didn't get to have my blood test done yesterday as I planned because I was at the coast. Now I'll have to wait until Monday, oh well, coupla days.....

Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully a good loss day so that will cheer me up.

Default Feeling better now.....

I let myself have a couple of little naps today to chase those blues away and I do feel better now (the vacuuming can wait til 2moro). Now let me clarify that I didn't miss any meals on purpose, there was just a lot of drama going on and it was the last thing on my mind until I started to feel sick and faint. I love my food and would never plan on missing a meal! Anyway that's over now.

Just have to say that I am loving the food on this 'diet', I am so lucky that it is all the kind of food I just LOVE. I love all kinds of vegies, the yoghurt (which surprised me), the chicken and fish, low fat cheese......sounds so corny I know but there is nothing that I don't love about all this food. And it makes me feel so healthy, such a change from the stodgy carbs that made me feel bloated and sleepy.

Gotta go, weigh day tomorrow.......fingers crossed.

The food is great, Suzie. I'm planning to continue eating similar food once I finish the diet. Getting into those jeans is the main sign that the diet is working as it should. Good idea to get away from the stress yesterday and to have the nap today. Stress slows down weight loss.

Good luck for your weigh in.
