Default Question about fruit

Just wondering if anyone knows how long we have to leave it between eating our fruits? My program only says that it is best they are not eaten at the same time.
Thank you!

Default Fruity question

Hey Salc

You can eat your fruits together as you say but it is best to leave them a few hours apart otherwise you will get a burst of sugar all at once. I think if you really have to it's fine to eat them together but it is recommended to keep them seperate. When I did cohen's the first time I used to eat my fruits together in the evening and it had no effect on my weight-loss.

Hope this help. I think it's great to space your fruit so you dont get hungry

xxnicole

its best to space your fruits out, id say about 2hrs? i kind of used the cracker rule with my fruits as well.. but since i normally had one piece either with breakfast or as an afternoon snack, and then one after dinner, it was always a big gap anyway. it gets a little harder on refeed as you're allowed a lot more fruit, but i never complained! hehe i loved being allowed to have 1 with breaky, 1 with lunch, and then one arvo and one after dinner.. delish!!

Most people say that you should have at least 2.5 hours between fruits. I haven't been able to find that particular rule in any of the Cohens material, but I adhered to it anyway. When you're only allowed two pieces per day, you want to save it for the times you need it!

Hi Salc

I only have two fruits a day as well and my consultant told me at least two hours between fruits. I often have half a piece for say morning tea and half after or with dinner. I save one piece and two crackers for around 4 o'clock because I know that has often been my danger time. I get this energy slump around 4 and, in the past, has been a binge time.

PLay with your timing and work out what works for you.

Shanara

I am just wondering. Fruits are carbs and crackers are also carbs. We are advised not to have more than 2 crackers at the same time. Does that means we are not allowed to eat 2 crackers together with fruits? It must be eaten also 2.5 hours apart of each other.

Does anyone know how many crackers = 1 fruit?

Aiyoh! Thinking too much!

Fruits and CB's aren't related. Different types of sugars involved. You can have a Cracker serve and a fruit allowance at the same time (Haven't you seen the apple crumble recipes here?) But you have to leave 2.5 hours between cracker serves. You can eat both with or between meals.

here is a quote from asy ... from page 1 of this thread ....

Quote:
You can eat them anytime you like.

You do NOT have to eat all your fruit (after day 10. Fruit and crispbread should be eaten as prescribed for the first 10 days, then they are optional but it's highly suggested that you have at least 2 crispbread and 1 fruit per day (with an apple every couple of days for the fibre))

You should wait a minimum of 2.5 hours after one piece of fruit to have another. Doesn't matter whether you have them with, or between, meals, but you shouldn't have them both/all at the same time.

Hope that clears things up.
sometimes it pays to read the whole thread ....

I lose weight faster when i don't eat or reduce my crackers. It didn't matter much at the beginning, but 42kg later it does now. I usually limit myself to 2 crackers a day (i'm allowed 5) if i really feel like having them, or need them in a recipe! I guess everyone is different tho.

I love Pink Lady's too
