Well today I reached a milestone of having less than 20 kgs to go. I am a teenager again. I remember the excitement of getting into the teens - ie 119.9. I remember thinking - next time I see 19.9 on the ticker I will have almost reached the end of stage one of the journey. Seemed so far away - and now I am here. In a really short space of time all things considered.

Celebrating lots of small milestones has really supported me on this journey. I can celebrate the anticipation of reaching them and the joy of reaching them. Allows me to have lots to celebrate. Yet there is one coming up which is really important to me - BMI less than 30. I am just overweight when that one comes in! .4 to go. I am sure Koh can tell me when that is - I was always hopeless at maths.

Was great to meet up with some Sydney Cohens women on the weekend. We had a great time in the park. Is great to have a real face to go with the forum posts. Everyone bought their lunch but we couldn't all eat together because some of us slept in!

Jenna - thanks so much for your very supportive words. I really appreciate them and glad if you have found anything I have said on the forum inspirational for you. I certainly have had others inspire me and I am glad to pass it on.

Claire - Oooh I am jealous - how wonderful to fly over Antarctica ... and it would be much warmer as well!!!!! Hopefully I will be going to Antartica in December or January.

Joroma - was wondering if you were visiting your diary. Don't know about the link - it was for someone who was searching for their diary. If they want it they need to let admin know this.

Imfef - Thanks - always wanted to be worshipped in the manner that recognises my godlike status .........

Sam - a poster girl !!!!!!! oh yeah - nightmare on Cohens street !!!!!

Shoegirl - totally agree with you - if I can do it - anyone can !!!!!!! and we are ....yeah !!

So glad the weather has been a bit warmer lately - my new thermals are getting far too much wearing for me.

Blessings
Shanara

At 81.5 (or 81.6 - depending on "rounding") is when you'll hit that goal.

So, what's that? Less than a week??????? Could even be Friday!! Depends which part of "the cycle" you are in. How cool, Shanara...

Rock on, darl - you are certainly doing this in style

Hugs,

Koh

PS Good to hear you met up with a bunch of inspirations on the weekend - you wouldn't have felt out of place at all

Probably already married, and making my way in the world (you're a young kid, aren't you?) Anyway, where did you go to school - bet it wasn't NZ (which is where I did mine)

I love visiting your diary! Such positive energy! That's what makes you such an inspiration, pretty lady!

I wish I had been there for the Sydney Cohenite gettogether. Must do that when I come back to Australia! So many people I would love to put faces to! Photos rarely do people justice!

Stay strong and keep smiling, pretty lady! One good sleep, and you will be out of that nasty weight range! And then there will be BANANA PARTY!

81.7 !!!

So close to the overweight category. Just a whisker off - BMI 30. Wow - who'd have thought just a mere six months ago.

Today went to the markets and found a pair of Sasse and Bide jeans - in a size 14 - very small - much smaller than my target 14's which are now getting too big. So the Sasse and Bide jeans fit !!!! OMG. How fun.

Intersting the reactions from some friends. Some people don't seem to like the fact I am now smaller than them . Ha. Do you think I am concerned - no just loving my body and playing with clothes.

Oldest son has just gone out with his father to have a driving lesson - I have not been game yet to take him out. I am sure we would just fight.

Michelle - looks we have a date - Saturday 16th May around 6.30 or 7 seems to be what suits.

Mette _ i am sure we will do more and a big one for your welcome back greeting. How is beautiful Denmark? One of my fave countries. Anyway you are definnitely coming back here because Denmark owes us one beautiful, sassy young woman.

Koh - well it is saturday and I am poised on the edge! Of course Koh - I am just a spring chicken. Yes, 6 months has gone very quickly. Thanks for all your support.

Michelle - won't be long and you will be there as well. Keep smiling and enjoy the journey.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day on this beautiful weekend.

Shanara

Hi Shanara,

Aww, bugger it - it's so close, I'm gunna call it !! Just sneeze, dammit - or clip your fingernails !!

And hey, if you get up tomorrow and it HASN'T happened, jump back on those scales a half-hour later (a trick that Shell shared - seems to work) - or go back to bed for a "lie-in" then try again....

Just LURVE those Sass and Bide's, Shanara - you might as well, 'cos they won't be YOURS for too long - you'll be trading them in for the next size down in June

Rock on darl,

Hugs,

Koh

Talking You're a genius Koh

You're a genius Koh!!! Clipped my fingernails last night - .9 gone this morning. 80.8!!!!! And look at my BMI - overweight. I can live with that one for another 5 points. Come on Koh - tell me what the magic number is for the normal category. Also slept in today.

I might get to love the Sass and Bide's for a little while because I have big muffin top - decided not to wear them to party last night. Funny momment at the party. There was all this beautiful relatively healthy nibblies at the partry last night and here is was at 8.30 - cause that's when I could eat eating my calamari and veges from my plastic container. Got a few comments - thank heavens for the old "I'm just doing a detox" line. Only a few people knew me before - we just gave each other a knowing smile. Everyone else didn't need to know my past history.

I realised last night that the food that was put out, whilst it would be regaarded by many as healthy, for me was so carb laden. I need to be aware of this for when I am on maintenance. How many random carbs there are in our everyday food. Noticed even the dips had crackers to eat them with - think my dish to take to parties will be cut up veges with dip - then I can eat.

Koh - love your support. Big hugs to you.

Shazza - we missed you too. Hope the garage sale went well.

Jenna - thanks - had/am having wonderful mothers day weekend.

Time to go visit my gorgeous mother.

Blessings
Shanara

Hi Shanara,

Woohoo !!!!

What a beautiful drop !! 900g !!!

Now Shanara, that means one of four things

Lemme see now *Koh adopts Thinker's pose*

1. You have bloody heavy fingernails !!
2. The sleep-in worked
3. It was always gunna happen
4. All of the above

Anyway, doesn't matter now Shanara, 'cos you are WELL INTO the O'weight range, AND oh so close to being a 70's chick (go cut your fingernails again - that'll do it ) !!

Normal BMI comes (for you - in case anyone else thinks it works for them, it doesn't) just after you become a 60's girl. Around 67.8, give or take.

In case you want to predict things, you'll step down another BMI point for every 2.7Kgs - but you're already well through the first one, so only 2Kgs to reach 29, then 2.7 for each point after that.

Rock on, Shanara, you legend

Hugs,

Koh

Hi Shanara

Well done on reaching the next BMI milestone! You just seem to be on a roll....

It was great to meet you at the Cohen's catch-up last weekend.... it was just nice to share experiences and hints and tips!

Out of interest I just went and checked my own BMI and I have 1kg exactly to go before I'm considered 'normal' according to the BMI ranges!! I will make sure that happens in no time!! Interestingly I also checked my goal weight and it comes up at the lowest range before 'underweight' - yikes!! I still can't ever imagine reaching my goal but will keep going and see where the journey takes me.

All the best
Rechelle

Hey Shanara, your weight loss is simply amazing. I'm panting just to catch up with ya.

You are definitely going to be in the 70s this week...wow! That would simply be a wonderful feeling isn't it? I remember when I hit 79.9kg, I was over the moon. Today in the 60s I'm above both the moon and sun. I think I hit the top of the universe when I hit 50s hehehe.

Reading into your diary to spur myself on. You are one good inspiration!

Hi Shanara,
Congrats on the normal BMI - It really is a buzz isn't it ?

If you want to keep those stress levels down _ DON'T go driving with your son - take it from me - it is soooo stressful. Avoid as long as you can....

You are a true inspiration to us all. Keep it up and lets power through this journey together.

Cheers

Well done on moving into the overweight category - that is a major milestone. Must remember to cut my nails before next weigh in - sounds like it is a goer!
Hope you have a great week. Our garage sale went ok, but have discovered people who attend garage sales as a hobby are weird! Get a life is the phrase that comes to mind.

Take care - maybe you could do the toenails for the next weigh in?

Seeing that completely cracked me up!
