Re: KM64's Refeed Diary
I can't believe your refeed is almost over. It seems to have gone so quick(for me anyway). Just keep reading and re-reading those maintenance guidelines and you will be fine. I have no doubt that you are going to be a trim and healthy mum for many years to come. You are a true inspiration to me. Well done. Rach

Day 15
Day 15 (second last day!!)
Today - 67.6 (-0.2 since yesterday) Thanks Rach - I'm glad you find my tale interesting. Well, I have to say today I do not seem to have stopped eating - lunch took me about 1 hour or more to eat, given that I was working through lunch - but had a huge chilli beef salad and a turkey breast sandwich. Just so much food. I've had so much trouble eating all today's food that I've just had dinner and am sitting here working my way through a huge bowl of popcorn (amazing how much 50g of pop corn is - far better than 12 bits of penne pasta I can assure you!!), and I've still got an orange and a bikkie left to eat (so should have taken the bikkie to work to have with coffee sometime during the day). Anyway - about to watch trial and retribution on telly, so feels like movie night with all the trimmings!!! Have to recommend turkey breast steaks to anyone no matter where you are on the program - way yummy and totally cohens-friendly!!! So - tomorrow is my last day (only 16 day refeed for me since even today I'd lost a little weight - today I'm only 0.6 away from my cohens set goal weight, and I checked and my weight was actually about 10 st 9 pds I think - I seriously can't remember last time I was under 11 st - but seems my body was just way ready for refeed). I went and checked out Fernwood today as the new goal is about getting fit and toned for summer!! I've never done a spin class before and the chick told me it burns off around 1,000 calories - amazing, particularly when you think that you could burn that when you aren't even dieting anymore!! I am not really sure I'm ready for the end of this journey - feel like Sunday will be very weird to wake up and just be able to eat whatever, whenever I like (of course keeping cohens friendly if I want to maintain). It really feels like tomorrow is the last day of my old life and heaven knows what awaits me on the other side. I've got a mini jacobs creek champers chilling in the fridge for tomorrow night to celebrate the end of a long (and yet also so short) 7 months since I started this journey. I'm a little gob smacked that this is my second last diary entry on the program!! And so many exclamation marks in this posting - must apologise for the effusiveness. Anyway, tomorrow is it (being a saturday it will be a little harder - even today was hard not to want to deviate even with all the food I had to eat). So big cheers to everyone and talk to you tomorrow!! Kay. |

Re: KM64's Refeed Diary
Wow Kay, you really inspire me on this. HOw I wish I can be on refeed now and then be off to waking up on Cohen friendly food without weighing. You have done so wonderfully well on this programme. Feeling a little sad that will be missing your presence around. Many of the familiar names that were around are slowly disappearing. HHmmm is it just me that I'm slow?
Hope to continue to see you around. You are so positive all along, love that spirit

Day16 - last day!!!
Day 16
Start refeed - 69.4 Today - 67.8 (up 0.2 from yesterday) Thanks Michelle, Carieanne and FlaMie. Well, here I am my last night on refeed. Just had a lovely dinner and a glass of champers to chase it down. Very nice (although I'm not a huge alcohol fan so possibly won't have it much except special occassions - which tonight certainly felt like). When I wake up tomorrow I'm on my own in terms of eating - I think I'll still be weighing food for a while until I get the hang of quantities and so forth when cooking at home. Stocked up today on yummy stuff - getting ready for making that lamb casserole for starters!! When I think about what I've learned on the program or gotten out of it, its amazing (and can't think of them all now so might need to keep adding to the list over time):
A big thanks to everyone who has dropped by my diary over the last months - all your support, encouragement and kind words have been highly appreciated and I think have helped me a lot to get to this stage. So - farewell to refeed and hello to maintenance. Cheers - Kay. |

Re: KM64's Refeed Diary
Fantastic Job kay. It is a funny feeling suddening waking up off the program and faced with so many options. The funny thing is that I found when faced with all those options I still wake up and love eating my yoghurt!
I just read all your achievments, the reduction in weight and sizes etc, I hope you give yourself a nice reward - though often the weight loss is a reward in itself. The very best of luck with maintenance and a huge congratulations on your wonderful achievments!!!! |

Re: KM64's Refeed Diary
Kay - Well done. I can relate to all your comments about being off refeed and obviously out there on your own - almost. I am approaching the same and it is a bit daunting.......
I will look for you in maintenance land. Enjoy and take care. Rosemary
