Hi

I know right Koh?!! I couldn’t believe it myself lol. We had a morning tea yesterday and got one again tomorrow. Luckily they are always at 10am which is my fruit time anyways, it all looks and smells Devine but I’m happy to chomp on my apple rather than a sausage roll or sandwich. Speaking of sandwich I can’t believe I haven’t touched bread for so long and don’t miss it all. My breakfast use to consist of weet bix (x4), toast with peanut butter AND butter x4 and a premixed cappacino x3 - now it’s natural yoghurt and a decafe haha.

I think I forgot what it’s like to be satisfied and got use to being bloated - and I mean way past the point of being full - but we live and learn. I’m loving the sleep factor though. Well another morning tea I’ll have to sit through and most likely not the last - but I remind myself it’s all only temporary and that’s enough to get me through

Hi Justa

I can't believe that the consultant was happy with an accidental sleep deprived deviation and suggesting a 80/20 mix either. Cohen's is the one time when the client is not always right.

I am busy baking muffins for our guys for morning tea - why do morning tea and eating go hand-in-hand? It is good a habit to get into - subsituting good food for bad. Even now, years into maintenance I will have a cracker instead of biscuit/cake/muffin - this is where I probably put the 80/20 into action.

Since Cohen's I get very choosey with eating - I really struggle when I need to buy cabinet food at lunch time as I now don't eat for the sake of eating as I want to enjoy what I eat. It took a lot of work to get to maintenance. I prefer to have crackers at coffee time and enjoy those carbs in veges at meal times rather than the quick satisfaction of a greasy sausage roll which leaves a fatty taste for the rest of the day.

Enjoy your fruit - you're on a roll - downwards

Morning

So close ..... official weigh in this morning 132.5, almost 20kgs gone & almost out of the 130s 😁 I’m stoked at that progress though but I’ll have to wait at least another week before I put my charm on the bracelet.

I haven’t done measurements yet cause it’s not even 6am and my day starts off with a decafe coffee - Black, no sugar and it’s an acquired taste that surprisingly didn’t take long to become the norm. It wasn’t so long ago now I’d be on my 2nd premixed cappacino or mocha or sometimes on my way to work going through the maccas drive thru lol - a sad truth looking back.

Last time I averaged about 1.5kgs a week but I’m only using that as a comparison tool and I’m not ‘expecting’ anything cause I know the losses will come. I’m glad that during the day I’m so busy, first thing in the morning is really the only time I have to ponder weight loss/Cohen’s/goals cause I think I would obsess way too much over it all - which of course would lead to pressure and disappointment!!

A great official weigh in and looking forward to week 9

Hi

This morning I weighed naked LOL - don’t worry no TMI here just thought it was interesting to note that without clothes on I dropped another 2.7kgs 😂

But I’m not counting that cause my start weight was based on being fully clothed and so all my other weigh ins will be fully clothed - EXCEPT the last one & I don’t care where I am at the time😁

I was pleasantly surprised but it’s no cause for celebration I’ve still got a whole heap of work to do over the next 12mths to get to goal. I sent my official weigh in to my consultant - haven’t heard jack back but it usually takes about 5wks to get a reply AND the email finishes woth other courses that would benefit me and ONLY COST.......

Pity she doesn’t realise I’m the worst person to try and get extra money out of👍

I always weigh naked - in the mornings and before eating. This is the only true way to know your exact weight as clothes can vary so much. So maybe time to start a new habit

Hi

Yeah nah nudity is not an option lol - mentallly (and I’m talking for everyone lol) - I only did it yesterday because I was the only one home but i won’t be doing that going forward.

I’ve been traveling though the forum (bedtime reading) and it’s so full of information - really useful information, I’d rather read good info from people that have been through it (incl myself lol) then watch post after post of i deviated, I can’t do this, it’s too hard, I’ve plateued - unfortunately for the world the only one I’m constantly lifting up is myself - negativity is draining. Everyone goes through bad patches and the people that are good for one day then deviate for months on end, I can’t be bothered with - tough love

Weekend starts tomorrow - can’t wait it’s been a hard week (work wise)

That may be so for now Just, but watch the impact you have as your journey continues. I'm sure you don't live in a vacuum, and, as such, others will start to notice and some (those who maybe have the most to learn from you) will make themselves known as they take note of your success.

THEN your journey will help to uplift others around you. Of course, there will always be nay-sayers too - you just need to give them the mental finger and carry on...

But there will also be those others you might never know about - and they are those who read these pages in years to come.

Just as you are getting so much by reading of others who have succeeded, so too will those reading of your journey and the other positive thoughts you leave on those pages. Carry on Just - leave your positive responses throughout this site - in your diaries, in your posts to others, in adding your thoughts in major topics (like the "Physical Changes apart from Weight Loss" thread), etc.

I take heart from a simple yet profound maxim:-
"Your reach far exceeds your imagination!"

That to me means that I am having an impact on a myriad other people who might never actually know me - just by posting in here (but also in my daily life too, of course). See, we might never even get to hear of our impact where we are not directly in front of people. But you can just bet that your journey will be conveyed to countless others as your workmates tell friends and their family of your journey from their perspective.

Who knows just how much impact your life might be having on people you don't even know. That is wild isn't it? Rather humbling, and perhaps even a little scarey !!

"Little ol' me? How could that be?"

Oh yeah - I'm sure little ol' you will be impacting many over the next while.

Rock on Just,

Koh

lol Koh - I live a little bit closer to the Antarctica than ChCh - but underfloor heating saves the day

My mother use to say that "tough love" never hurt anyone. I totally agree Justa - you just can not deviate with Cohens if you want to succeed as learning from reading the forum one mouthful normally leads to many mouthfuls as does one meal turns into "I'll start again on Monday".

Enjoy the weekend

Hi

That’s true Koh - I think I only really thought of being inside and looking out - never actually thought of someone being on the outside looking in - if that makes sense. If I’m unknowingly helping someone then I’m glad - I’ll still hide it for as long as I can though (physically)

The good thing about the weekend is you get to sleep in - the bad thing for me is I can’t actually sleep in. Sleeping in to me is waking up at 5.30 and being a rebel and not getting out of bed till after 6 - a sad but true reality. My body clock is finely tuned to wake up at 5.30 and spring out of bed, actually to be honest springing is a bit OTT let’s say hauling my tired body out of bed semi-ready for the day ahead lol.

So here I am at 6.30am on a Saturday morning posting in my diary and drinking water - the one good thing I like about Saturday is I get to have my Cohen’s pizza mmmmm .... I heard that cheese can make some people’s weiht loss slow or stop so I have been careful to have cheese once a week but I prefer it that way it’s like my treat and I savour every single bit of it. Last Saturday my son asked for a bite and I laughed at him ahahaha - I don’t have any plans for today other than going through my wardrobe and seeing what fits, what almost fits and what requires more patience

Cheers to the weekend

Just

Hmm - I wonder how much luck you'll have with that.... Your words put me in mind of a Cohenite from 10 years ago. I was staggered at how QUICKLY her face changed.

That became evident too in other diaries as I noted how the face was one of the first parts to show the change. It was Barb's (Timeforme) photo diary that first showed me that.
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5182

Check out her very first post - it shows her starting face, her "one month" face, and the avatar (top left corner of the post) is her at the 3 month mark. What a mind-blowing change in such a short time for her.

Others too showed similar, so Just, to hide your journey, you might need to start wearing a veil or something.... Seriously though - have you noticed any massive change facially? (Remember, you see yourself every day - so changes can sneak up on you quietly - and the same with workmates - but anyone who HASN'T seen you for 2 months might get quite a shock).

Hi

For some reason my kidneys are sore - not sure why but it can’t be water I drink 3L always - possibly more. Might be the cold,??? I might be getting the flu who knows but today is not good.

I’m still eating what I should and avoiding all other non-Cohen’s but today I might just stay in bed. It’s 9am and about 8 degrees yippee almost double figures.

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend

Oh and the face - um well my face has always been round and I haven’t noticed a difference well much of a difference, others might of but haven’t said (yet) still early days I’m in my 9th week - last time it was around week 16 someone said soemthing but that was because it was summer and I just couldn’t take the layers of clothing anymore cause of the heat so I started wearing clothes that fit and BOOM!! That same day people’s jaws were dropping then for the next months it was how much now how much now like it was a competition and I think most of my workplace signed up to Cohen’s lol - it’s definately a great marketing tool for the company I’ll say that much

Do a Search using "kidneys sore" as the keywords and you will get a few links to check out. Here's one:-
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthr...ore#post334842

Could be some clues in that. I noted the acupuncture reference, and I am certain there are other physical remedies mentioned somewhere. Maybe search on just "kidneys" and you'll get more answers to research.

I recall someone in the last year or two saying a massage helped them out.

Hi

Good advice Koh I did a search and I think Kristine explained it best. The kidneys are working way harder and so sometimes they may feel a bit sore and the blood tests are to constantly monitor that. They feel way better today yesterday they were real sore but I’m a kiwi and hard as - in saying that I stayed in bed half the day lol.

It’s strange trying to get the balance right with food/water and timing but that’s the beauty of this programme it gives u guidelines and it’s really up to u to follow them to the letter - which I have been doing so yesterday was weird?!

I read more older posts yesterday and debs rant/post on her scale weight going up was hilarious and I can imagine it’s like walking into a horror story - lol

Mid week 9 for me and another great week ahead!!

Albeit a cold start - a whole 2 degrees here far out she’s a cold one

Hi

I learnt something new yesterday - maybe I’m just naive???

I learned that a squash is not a pumpkin Lol!!!! So I emailed my consultant (and got a reply!!) I had delicious pumpkin soup on Sunday and she said why did u have pumpkin and I said cause I’m allowed squash and she informed me squash is not pumpkin - well I googled it and it looks like a pumpkin so that’s what I bought - far out hopefully that doesn’t set me back too far but by geezus - who knew??

So there we have it another deviation - I went to countdown and bought an actual squash - it looks horrible. Hopefully it tastes better than it feels but I’ll give it a go - to be honest the only veges I like on the allowed list are tomatoes, mushrooms and silverbeet. I loathe capsicums and cabbage ewww but I may have to try new things soon cause there’s only so many ways u can have mushrooms before it gets too much and I start getting hungry.

On another note - feeling great if not a tiny bit stupid doh!!! Oh and the other thing is our water in chc is foul - I don’t want to buy 3L of water a day. The tap water use to be soooo nice now it’s poison - it’s revolting ugh

Wow - could THAT have given your kidneys some grief last week? It doesn't sound nice at all....

Re the pumpkin - it won't set you back nearly as much as a REAL deviation (like chowing down on a Maccas, or similar stupidity). It probably won't even hurt as much as the milk mistake a few days ago. Unless the pumpkin had a few other things in it - did you make it, or was it bought? Thinking there it might include butter, cream, etc...... If you made it yourself I don't think you'd have added any "nasties" would you?

Hey Koh

No it was literally boiled pumpkin blended with a little water lol - in my defence my mother calls pumpkin squash so I just assumed a squash was a pumpkin - it was delish but not on the list - I’m thinking of making well trialling a cauliflower soup sounds so yuck

Maybe it is the water hurting my kidneys? Luckily my work water is filtered so I’ll just take a couple 2L containers in and fill them lol - cheaper then buying it

Hi

BOOM 20kgs gone!!! New weight this morning, new charm on the bracelet and another week done and dusted.

Really struggling to drink plain water due to the freezing weather - still trying to do it though. I’ve convinced that I’m going to wake up and find a thin layer of ice over the top of my water lol - one good thing is it instantly wakes you up having a glass of water in the morning it’s like a kick in the face so I’m going to fill my water bottle and leave it in the lounge at night - where it’s way warmer and hopefully it warms by the morning, either that or I’m going to heat it first ahahah - not sure if slightly warm water vs cold water makes a huge difference I’ll do a search later.

Week 10 already and feeling pumped and ready for it

Have a good week

Just

Congratulations of 20kgs down, fantastic effort and I bet you are loving that new charm on your wrist.

When I trek, I fill a metal water bottle with boiling water at night and use it as hottie and then come morning, it is still slightly warm and good to drink. You can't beat snuggling up with a hottie on these cold nights.

Hi

I know WB it’s so cold now - brrrr. I’m loving the charm bracelet thing it’s definately a motivator for me as I see charms all over the place and I’m like a kid in a candy store - I want that and that and that - so it’s a good non-food related and relatively cheap reward for myself.

I tried squash - it’s definatey not pumpkin and gross lol, I’m gonna invent soemthing with the food I am allowed to eat ahahaha. I allow myself one eye fillet a week only cause it’s expensive and man oh man it’s good, cooked to perfection it’s so yum. I’m going to try some other recipes from on here too just to keep the variety up who knows I might end up liking the other veges I avoid like the plague.
