Yay...I was approved!!

Struggling a little this week, not with sticking to the program, but making sure I don't make accidental deviations. I decided after 4 weeks to try the yoghurt, tried them all and only like Tamara Valley. Have been having it for a week and today ready that it has inulin like vaalia and not allowed. It meets all other guidelines and inulin is not listed on the label. My mother is also on Cohens, she started with me. So I trusted her when she gave me a brussel sprout to go with my veggies, only to read today that they too are not allowed. My consultant also told me just last week that curry powder IS allowed. Apparently consultants had a meeting about it a few weeks ago and it is allowed??? God it's all so confusing!!!

It's like being on a round-a-bout, isn't it? They keep moving the goal posts on us. My advice, make your own curry powder with approved spices...

I use the Jalna yoghurt - organic and bio-dynamic. Although, I find that if I eat it for breakfast then I get hungry mid morning so don't have it too often. I've never really been into snacking so if I feel hungry I feel like eating the next meal - argh, not fair if you have to wait that extra hour or two... or three...

Hang in there FMA, you're doing fantastically! 12kgs is nothing to sneeze at!

After waiting the 4 weeks to be weighed the first time I was curious after week 5 and weighed at home (my scales and the clinics are exactly the same) and had only lost 400g. I also noticed that I was starting to feel hungry!! After looking over my food consumption the ONLY thing different was yoghurt (Tamara Valley) as I started it the first day of week 5 and ate it all week. TOM wasn't due for a week or so, the yoghurt had to be the culprit!! I gave up yoghurt straight away and went back to my eggs for breakfast, took a few days but the hunger subsided by the end of week 6 and I lost 3kg. I am really bummed that I stuffed up my loss and I could be a kg or 2 lighter if I hadn't had that damn yoghurt!!

On the plus side I have dropped 2 sizes and am starting to feel really good. I find Cohens really easy to stick to, and the food is really nice! I have no desire to eat bad foods, but really enjoy smelling the cakes, cookies and slices that I bake for the kids lunches. That smell is plenty for me and I have no urge to taste at all. I have turned into a baking and cleaning freak...I just can't stop!!!

HI FMA,
I can totally identify with the "baking freak" thing - i do all the cooking and bake at leat once a week so DW has lunches for the week - i think i'm trying to fatten her up a bit subconciously! Just the smell is enough for me too but damn those bannana choc chip biscuits smelt good.
I have yoghurt every breakfast but may have to give the eggs a go?
Looks like you are well on your way, Keep it up.
Cheers, Ed

Hi FMA, yoghurt can make you hungry by mid morning, I use the Jalna youghurt with a crushed sweetner mixed in. I alternate with an omlette or a brekky muffin!

Two sizes down - maybe you have been integrating, great stuff!!!

I had my 8 week weigh in today and I am down 19.25kg....So close to 20kg!! I think I am in love with this diet/lifestyle. Not hungry at all and cruising along happily. Getting close to 1/3 of the way there and only 8 weeks in, I couldn't be happier!! I have been so busy lately and haven't had time to get online, but I haven't deviated once and feel really good.

I am shocked at the speed that you drop down sizes!! I buy pants that are way too small, only to try them on 2 weeks later and the fit perfectly or are too loose!!! Love it!!!

on the weigh-in nearly 20 kg's. who could ask for anything better than that for 8 weeks. I am thinking on other diets we would brobably only have lost around the 10 kg's.

Congratulations! you cruising along.

Wow it's been so long since I have posted!! I have been having internet access problems and when I do manage to get online I only seem to have the time to read the latest info and not post. Over 13 weeks now and still going strong. Only have 700g until I have lost 30kg and 2.7kg until I am half way there.

I even managed to go to Melbourne a week ago for 3 days for a shopping holiday. Yoghurt for breakfast, pre-made cohens nuggets/salad that I had taken with me for lunch, and ate out with steak and salad dinners cut down to size. No slip-ups at all and I lost 2.5kg over that 3 days with all the walking I had done! My first Cohens birthday is out of the way and I have to say that I didn't miss the cake at all!!

I seem to be doing really well not thinking of using food to deal with emotional issues anymore, but I find my mind plays tricks on me regularly. 'It' keeps thinking I am not losing weight, that I can't still be losing, even though the scales tell and different story. Then I jump on again and I surprise myself. Don't know what the go is with that but I am not letting it win, I will stick to Cohens no matter what until I get to goal.

I find the speed at which clothes fit is also a real shock. I can try on jeans and they be too tight...3 days later and they fit fantastic!!! It's really hard to wrap your mind around that one I tell you! I may just get the courage to post my before and half way pics up soon...I say I will be there by this time next week at the rate I am going...

On Monday night I sent off my first job application since my redundancy 2 months ago. It was my dream job and I thought I may get an interview but probably not the job when they saw me. 1hr later I got a call for an interview Tuesday morning. 30 mins into the interview they offered me the job and asked how much I wanted!

I start today and woke up to have hit the 30kg lost mark!!! Thank you Dr Cohen!!! This has been the best $700 I have ever spent. There is no way I would have this job today if I was still carrying that 30kg around with me. I have already got back the cost a million times over. Not to mention the value of my health and how good I feel now!!! Best choice I ever made.

I think I have replaced my eating addiction with a shopping addiction!! Buying myself a new wardrobe in each new size I hit...and I LOVE it!!!!

This past week I have been feeling a little odd. I haven't changed my eating habits at all, the only difference is I have been going to bed earlier every night. I feel really shaky, a little light headed, all over the place. For those who have ever tried it...it's felt like I have taken Duromine. God knows what has caused it...but I have been dropping the kgs well and sticking to it 100% so I hope it just passes soon.

No longer shopping in the fat girl section is a real hurdle for your mind to get past. I find I still go there on auto-pilot but nothing fits. My body is shrinking but my mind is running behind trying to catch up!

Not only that - but I could never find BIG sizes on the bargain table. Yesterday at the shops, I could only find 20 - 24 in anything I liked. How crazy is that. I looked at the samller sizes (not in the bargain section) and couldn't decide on anything so figure I'll save my $ for another week. lol
