Just as well I like Burgen - because I LUURRRVVE bread. I hope that like you Louise, there will come a point when I won't miss it, and not be that fussed whether I'm able to eat it or not.
You're so close to your goal - what an amazing feeling that must be! Have a great weekend...

You made be laugh girl, I don't know how to do the quote thing but does this read familiar??? "my boobs are smaller. It must be much kinder on my knees." How big were your boobs????????????????????? I am still chuckling while typing, hubby will think I have lost the plot. So glad the crocs haven't got you yet. Be careful out there. Still grinning Jo

HI Louise
Thank you so much for your supportive entries in my diary. I am finally getting around everyone's diaries after all my trips. Wow. Louise seems like refeed is really agreeing with you. Initersting at your bodies reaction tot he bread. I think their are so many toxins in much of the food we eat. Apparently tomatoes are sprayed 6 times before we eat them - the poisons have to get in. Our bodies after Cohens are so detoxed that we can really feel what these additives and poisins do to our bodies. Watch out for those crocs - glad you have croc proof fence. Oh Louise, you will be living in maintenance land very soon - how exciting. Blessings Shanara

I'm so glad that your tummy is feeling better Louise! I have a theory that our tummy reacts very strongly to preservatives after being without them for so long, so we need to be careful what we reintroduce into our diets.
You're doing really well, pretty lady, I hope you have some good rest and that you have a bit more of a drop!

Hi guys, I havent gotten lost or eaten by crocs, just been a bit preoccupied with a few things that have been going on. i wont bore you with all the gorey details. The floods have really been mucking me around, especially with my travel plans. I just had to fly somewhere I normally drive and arrived without scales or refeed schedule. I think I will just stay in a holding pattern until I get home. It wont hurt, especially as in reality we do need to watch our what we eat on an onging basis.
I have skipped the bread totally for the time being, I was surprised how long it took my stomache to return to normal after the bread problem, I will reintroduce the burgen bread again later. I have been aware in the past that I always feel so much better when Im avoiding the carbs. |

The good news is I now have had a final decision made about my job. I am now doing my previous role halftime and a new role half time. Just have to get some extra training, but dont have to move.
Jo thank you for your kind thoughts. Maybe I phrased that entry incorrectly, Im happy that the boobs are smaller when I run so they dont jiggle so much and I think my knees will be happy to have less overall weight on them - wasnt specifically referring to the weigh of my boobs - lol Yeti not quite finishing refeed but happy with my decision to stretch it out a bit longer- funny thing is there is a kind of comfort in being on the diet, plus the extra quantities seemed so much I am happy to take it slow. Mette, no more drops, but happy to be free of those preservatives - good on you for getting to the end, you must be feeling great! Shanara it is a bit scary that even when we get rid of all the overprocessed foods that the natural stuff is so covered in chemicals! Dedee thank you for dropping in, Im looking forward to catching up in a couple of weeks! I hope your staying dry up there! cc, Im pleased to see the temps have dropped down your way, I really hope you are nowhere near the fires. It makes me feel really lucky that I only have water not fire to deal with. Aj thanks for the tips about the water and giddiness. I dropped my water intake and it seems to have settled Asian, I can thoroughly recommend the burgen bread, its yummy. Vee, I goo luck with the refeed when you start and yes watch the bread! Sorry I havent been around much to contribute to everyones diaries, but my thoughts are with you all, especially any of you in the fire zones. That sort of thing really puts life into perspective and makes you realise that you have to embrace life and count your blessing! Last edited by louise41; 10-02-2009 at 22:03. |

HI Louise,
Sounds like you in FNQ are having a challenging time at the momment. That much water is causing chaos - still I think I'd rather have water than fire like they are having in Victoria. Louise you are doing amazingly well. I feel like you will handle maintenance as well as you have done the programme. Keep smiling Shanara

Sorry to hear that things are a bit messy, Louise. It's hard being on refeed when events beyond our control throw us out of our routine. I'm sure as long as you stick to your holding pattern while you are away and get back into the program properly when you get back, you'll be ok. I hope things get easier for you soon, pretty lady, so you can finish this thing in style!

Wow Mette and Shanara, I just came back to do some editing and there were your wonderful words of support.
Mette yes I figure that there is no rush especially as its not as if I can just suddenly change the way I am eating or I would just put the weight right back on, I prefer to move slowly and maintain my losses. I always remember when Oprah had a show after she had lost all her weight. She got to 72kgs and had someone wheel out a wheelbarrow that was full of something that equalled the equivalent of her weight loss, she was looking great in some fitted jeans. She later said that she only stayed at that weight for one day before she started to put on the weight! I suspect this is not an uncommon story. I think the great thing about cohens is that there are continual guidelines and I am happy to follow the slow and steady approach, rather than have that Oprah experience! Shanara I am just waiting for the rain to restart, I think some of the highway has reopened but we are expecting heavy rain again before the end of the week - hence why I have flown rather than driven this week, at least I know Ill be able to get home on Friday! |

My guess would be that despite all the preaching about empowering and taking control, Oprah never dealt with the reasons behind her eating, or change her food habits. Mind you, it'd be difficult to change things when you have a personal chef that cooks most things with full cream
No, we will definitely not have that kind of experience. We're smarter than that! Baby steps and listening to our bodies, right?

Yep your right Metter - Like that woolies bread, it sure spoke to us loud and clear. At one stage Oprah even had her own personal chef that she headhunted from a weight loss farm- how good would that be!

Louise,
I also think there is no hurry with this programme and I think the worst thing we could do is get to maintenance and break out too much. I wouldn't mind a personal chef - I think I could handle that. Just don't want the cream thanks Mette. Actually when I think about it though - it doesn't take long to cook up our beautiful Cohen's food. I have a cookbook somewhere written by one of Oprah's personal chefs. Not too bad - some good recipes. I am just so grateful to have the knowledge that I have gained on Cohen's. Louise both you and Mette are totally inspirational. Blessings Shanara

Hi Elle-ouise,

Just a big happy hushpuppy I haven't "done" Cohens - Asy knows me from way back - she invited me to "take a look" here - I did, loved it, and stayed... And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !! |

What can I say Koh - I have always marched to my own tune! But seriously my lifelong eating should pretty much mirror refeed anyway so I shouldnt be rushing to add in those things that will trigger my appetite and put me at risk of putting weight back on. The bigger quantities really made me quite uncomfortable and I didnt want to rush to get used to large portions as a habit and fall into bad habits. Maybe its a security thing, but I rather err on the side of caution.
Shanara I think the meals I make quickly are usually the healthiest ones, the meals that take a lot of preparation are usually less healthy. That suits me,less time in the kitchen and more time doing other things. I have been investigating a running clinic that a local running club is doing for beginners. I have enjoyed doing a little running of late and they teach you how to do it all properly. I thought i might go along and see how i enjoy it, doing something with others can often encourage me to persist for longer. The only down side is that the clinic is at 6am on a saturday morning and im not a morning person. My bf get up early for golf on saturday so that might help. Anyway Ill see if I can manage the early start! |

Glad to hear the work situation has sorted itself out and that it is a solution you can live with. The changes seemed to have happend rather quickly! It sounds like all is going well on refeed! Hope you are finding it ok and that you are enjoying all the new and extra foods. Vee |

Hi Louise
Tut tut trying to get to those wee numbers. Seems to be a common thing though. Well done for going the refeed option. It isn't as scarey as it seems way back 30+ kg off. And don't worry about maintenance (that's if you are). Shall drop by more often now. Hope those floods are subsiding. Keep on doing what ya doing Dancing for louise Katie |
