Re: Andy46
Thanks Pandora, just drooped in for Breakfast - love that egg, mushroom and asparagus - I use a ramekin dish in the microwave little bit of water in veggies then add the egg after two minutes for another minute - let it sit a bit then - yummy. I am even doing the cooking now - life is changing. !!!!!!!!!!! (for the better of course) My daughter left Australia after working for 12 months at Anthony Lagoon NT - at 18 years of age - on a rural exchange program (IRE Australia) Has been to Canada, Europe and England working on farms, making sheep cheese and nanaing as well as all sorts of other things. Whilst over seas she has also been to many others places to have a look about - what a life and opportunity the young people have today !!! It will be a great three weeks at Caloundra with her arriving back in Australia on 22/12 in Brisbane and being her fathers only daughter she will get spoilt rotten - no doubt and I don't mind. my daughter is also one of my greatest motivators and doesn't worry about giving me a serve to get fit. Must fly Andy

Re: Andy46
Andy,
My hubby is computer geek so haven't loaded anything onto IE yet as don't want to disturb anything till he gets back so will have to put up with mistakes - sorry - until then. Also to Pandora, where we live there is a supermarket and hardware but no dept stores so will have to wait till I get down the mountain. Andy, where have you booked into at Caloundra. I can just see you three with your sunnies on walking along those beautiful beaches. You know that is about twenty minutes from where I am and the weather over the past few Christmases has been great. Hopefully its fantastic for you. Great going with the belt by the way. I have to say though draging on the ground. mmmmmmm. Melissa

Re: Andy46
Melissa - Mum lives in Albert Street Shelly Beach and this year to be a bit closer we have a Unit down on Shelly beach "Aztec" its called - We love going over to Mums and this year is special because Mum turns 80 and my baby girl is coming home - I am not real flash on the beach bit - bush boy - prefer the Mulga scrub - but its good to have a LOOK at the beach - I have told my son who is coming down as well that I'll be the chick magnate this year LOL LOL LOL lots - the kids bail a bit on me at the beach - but not this year - hopefully I'll be trim with the older style wash board stomach - as if. Down in Cunnamulla tonight - scary old town - they have had a big funeral here today so hope they don't go mad from the grog tonight. Will be gone early - on the road heading back to Barcaldine tomorrow night. Testing my new laptop as well and it seems all good - just ate my tea that i bought and have a breakfast lunch and tea for three days in my car fridge so will save heaps by not eating greasey food at road houses and drinking rum at the pub at night. My work colleges are dumb founded by my actions but are very supportive and are not pressuring me at all to go with them. I am strong though and will not break out - I need to get the kgs off to badly - to look good at the cost at Christmas !!!! alls good - powering on - to te finish line %100. Andy

Re: Andy46
Well though through,
You are your own inspiration. Having so many reasons to get to the finish line and out on the road as well. I was down at Golden Beach last weekend and the weather was spectacular. I'm not much for the beach as well but I do like to walk and the beaches here are perfect for that. I can say though that that is why I live in the mountains, couldn't do the beach every day. Have a safe journey home. Melissa

Re: Andy46
Well here I am at Barcaldine tonight - it was a long night at Cunnamulla as there had been a big funeral there during the day so there was a fair bit going on on the streets after midnight. Was up and on the road by five after heating breakfast up in a container in the hot water in the hand basin - breakfast at 10 to 5 am meant that it was a long run to 1215 when I stopped as we travelled through Augathella - but very enjoyable and although hungry not that bad. Ate my fruit and dry hard biscuits as well. This afternoon was better and and whilst it is slow driving it gives me lots of time to think about my way of life which is very much effected by eating. Off to Blackwater via Emerald tomorrow to a mine site then will decide the quickest way home. But to be safe I have all my food labelled and frozen by my good wife - no deviations at all - and I can feel the weight slipping away. I am glad for the car fridge freezer that work has given us for our work cars in the west. must go - all is bright happy and life is churning along - with me. Andy

Re: Andy46
Hi Andy46, You just sound SO RELAXED with this Cohens thing. I'm sure your good lady plays an important part, and the gains (losses) you are making are probably giving you the best feelings (despite the occasional "slowdown"). What can I say but, good on you Andy - you are such a positive poster here, helping many others along, while "leading from the front". Keep on trucking, mate - I'll be around in the future to cheer as you finish refeed and become the newyou !! Go you beauty Like many here, I love hearing about that garden of yours. "Nothing tastes better than being slim feels", but I would think tomatoes sun-ripened off the vine might come a close second Koh

Re: Andy46
Thanks for the kind words Koh - in my job I always have to lead a bit from the front especially with the new staff I get from time to time - I get young blokes - rosy faced straight out of Brisbane just out of training usually - so have to teach and led them a bit. Your right - I love that fresh garden fruit and I have always had my own two bee hives that I work as well - so its a great process and very fruitful and is what this Cohen's lifestyle is all about - getting back to the basics - getting away from the processed food and being a healthier person for it - and it works well. Thanks for your support as that is a treasure as well. Don't worry I will keep trucking but I wouldn't drive those big trucks - I keep the other cars and trucks away from them so as to make the road safe - although I drive on the wrong side of the road all the way !!! Must go as I have a early start tomorrow. Andy

Re: Andy46
HI Andy!
Well done you!!! It's amazing how that steel trap thought of "I'm changing my life." Kicks in and sticks, doesn't it? I too am a bit green with envy over your vegetable garden I have a black thumb however... I can kill a tree at 20 paces *LOL* SO I am in admiration of you on so many levels! Look at you, my friend!!! practically 20 KILOS GONE in less than 2 months... Fantabulous!! Stay safe on the roads, Andy Debs |

Re: Andy46
Thanks Debs - your not that far behind me - and you'll catch me - so I'll have to be on my guard hey mate. I just reckon this is an easy way to get the kilos off - I have tried other ways but I suppose that I like to see progress - plants growing, new houses in towns, more projects in towns and weight going down or off. This program or dare I say diet has really given me a buzz and provided me with a commitment and a goal as well. I also have drawn a lot of strength and determination from this very forum. Even as I type this at 0439 hrs. as I get ready to leave this town - by checking here as sleeping has finished and I have a burst of energy - I can see that I have (1) Support (2) a mateship that is unique (lets face it we all love to have things that are unique) (3) I can see results for my efforts by looking at others and comparing where they are at as to me. All of these things are important and even just reading about the daily struggles of each individual keeps me honest. I'm no goody goody or I would have been skinny years ago - its been my excess in life - food, beer and good rum, and carefree nights that has got me to the wrong side of the weight ledger. So with this in mind I take it as a challenge and failure is not an option no matter how hard it becomes - when the going gets tough I am going to get tough and win. Each and every day I make a commitment to myself to reach my goal and its working - each step of the way. I've had a ramble this morning but that in its self has kicked me along. Today I'll have to strategically drink water - yesterday I was busting all day and being in a moving convoy of vehicles you just can't stop as you please so today I'm going to plan my water drinking to coincide with road stops - see its all work and planning - if we fail to plan we plan to fail. All is good - cranked now and ready to go !!!!!!!!!! All the best to everyone else who is having a battle today - stop and have a thought for however brief about you goals, direction and what you want to be later in the day !!!! regards Andy PS I miss my own pillow.

You guys got it too easy on the road Andy you can just pee in a bottle Us girlie's have to bare it all. Athough I have learned to power pee over the years and can be done before fella's even start. Snowmobiling helped that along too cold to have things bare for long.
Take your pillow along i do don't travel without it. Motel pillow's are always either too big, too small, too flat or too hard. Be safe on the roads Pudge |

Hey Andy,
I really enjoy reading about you and your adventures along with absorbing a little of your wisdom. Some days it is just such a boost to come here and read how all are doing. I just sit and take it all in. You are such a trooper you'll have to join Pandora with her commando style commitment. Have a good one and do keep safe on those roads. Melissa

Re: Andy46
Good morning all,
Yes i have had my bees for many years - they are amazing little creatures and i bought them off a the bush padre years ago - I think we swapped a feed and yarn for a beehive one night on the road in the bush - in the bush we trade a bit like that - but my bees are very interesting and have an almost perfect set up if you read up on bees and what they do - lots of the town kids come and have a look at my bee's - I think to get a bottle of honey and keep me on side if I catch them with no bike helmet on !!!!! but they are really wonderful little creatures that work very hard at what they do - just like all the good people that are now getting their daily fix of Cohen's to make their world a better place. I completed my job and arrived back home after dark last night but had a an amazing drive back from Blackwater via the back roads - 250 k's of dirt from Springsure to Tambo which takes you back up the range past some of the most magnificent country (Salvator Rosa National Park, Mt Moffitt and Carnarvon Gorge and Ka Ka Mundi National parks) - about 2 million acres of national park - wilderness - the setting sun over the range was a real inspiration in its self - the rough road a spine jarring reminder to loose weight to give the springs of the Landcruiser a bit more flexibility. But it was a good reward after 2066 km's of work - and lets face it - what a way to drive home after work !!! I really feel for city dwellers and my other work colleagues who drive in all that traffic - I couldn't do it. And to top it off I had my pillow when I got home - Pudge you are right - I always forget something though when I travel - and your power pee - what a hoot - and no you just can't stick it out the window magenta - you girls make me laugh so much - anyway I work hard on those wide loads - I drive completely on the wrong side all the way driving all the oncoming traffic off the road - The loads are all 7 metres wide ( 25 feet) and weigh 200 tons - so I also have the qauwk factor - peoples eyes staring at the load - not getting off the road so just imagine if I was doing that - especially as my car has some very significant labelling that would cause "headlines". Anyway I really hope every one is having a good day and your dreams are coming into your life in the way you want them - little bits of you disappearing by the kg. !!! Mine are and life's good and getting better. I have not been able to read all the posts as I was just to sleepy last night and then today I see I have re-set the list but I will after I get my office in order today sit for a while and read them. I also slept in and need to get to my veggies ASAP - they have all splurged whilst I was away - so have the weeds - but I will be on too it sometime today. Have a good day and keep on the way nature wants you to be - eating the good stuff and leaving the rubbish bits for compost bin. Andy

Re: Andy46
Holy Andy you must have BIG ditches for people to just drive off the road. Wouldn't get away with that here. They'd be smackin tree's or get stuck in the ditch.
Power Peeing is just kinda my term. Daughter timed me one time when we were headed camping with the horses. I got out of the truck went between it and the trailer did my business and got back in. Took me 45 seconds. I really don't think I would want to see a bloke that could just hang it out the window. Well I won't go any further on THAT. Hope you enjoy the time at home. Pudge |

Re: Andy46
Its a top of the world day here this morning and I hope every one has a great day today, All is good and its so good to be heading down this road - the weight is moving - and I must say moving in my way - down - not up. Belts are again getting re adjusted this morning and I am now looking for smaller clothes - what a refreshing feeling after so many years of ordering a next size up - soon be ordering the next 10 sizes down - it just gets better and better - also makes me determined to get way down and keep it off and to live forever. Everyone who is doing it tough today I hope you take your challenges and win - you can do it if you want to !!!!!!!!! Don't give up - you can do it !! Have a good day and don't forget to give yourselves that little bit of special - "Your Time" Andy

Re: Andy46
Hi Andy46
I know the roads you travel out in Tambo, Blackwater and Barcaldine. I use to have to do those trips once every three months and out up to Burketown. Dirt roads drive me nuts... you turn the aircon on and all the bulldust flies around the inside of the car!!!! But the long drives gave me time to enjoy time by myself and realise how beautiful and peaceful is in the outback. Absolutely love the people too. Anyway... glad to hear you're still powering on through the program. I can almost see you smiling when you post in your diary!!! I think you need to start buying your next size down. But be sure not to spend too much, because they probably won't fit you in four weeks. I just bought a pair of black bootleg pants two weeks ago and now they don't fit... I'm going to invest in a belt to try get a little bit more wear out of them. Have a good one Andy46... Till next time Coh |
