Hi AJ

Finally I get around to responding in people's diaries.... (unsocial being I am NOT lol).

Just wanted to pop in and say I saw your pics, you look great! You must be feeling really good about where you are at?

On the issue of a barrier, my 'barrier' was always 72kg. After having my first child, 72 was the magic number I always seemed to sit at. I've been very worried about not being able to break through it, but yesterday I did, and so can you!

Here's to you.

Cindy

Hi AJ

I'd love some of that rain! It would do my veggies no end of good. I was thinking about you today when I was feeling angry about having to be on an eating plan. I was thinking of your persistence and dedication and generosity and your stickability to Cohen's and I was inspired to grit my teeth and persevere.

thank you

Loulou

AJ, sound like your body's memory function is a lot better than a PC's. Get to this weight and says ok! We're finished. Let's go have some wine!

What you are doing now is a reformat and hard reboot which takes longer to get up to speed. Once it all kicks in though I would think you will have a hard time keeping up with it. Look how long Irene was out on the Island there for a while. As long as we know it's just a matter of time it still gonna happen. Simple math says 800 C will not let you stay the same weight. Has to go down.

Hoping for a good drop for you tomorrow! It will be Sunday.........

I can totally picture you in your big sweater, cozy on the rainy day... Sometimes I miss those days sooo much... and having a nice beef stew watching the rain outside...
I wanna send you some strength and courage to go through the platues you are expecting...
About exercise - before this diet, I thought I was LESS hungry on the days I would workout, really... But on this diet...I must say I always felt hungry the day after... But I know we are all different. And one funny thing too... you know how in the beginning of the diet we try to see how different food, behavior, things we do, affect the diet? Well, for me it was always a little questionable... like - lets say you eat crackers and fruit one week and the next you dont, but the first week you dont lose anything, the next you do. How can you say it was crackers? Maybe you were just on the platue? Or maybe it was just the your hormone released that fat... and so on...
So, for me it was also hard to say yes, working out was slowing my diet or speeding it... because there's so much going on in our bodies we don't really know...

Wishing you a nice, cozy day and enjoy at least the smell of wine... You are one strong woman !!!!!

Day 3, Week 19

Well, yesterday wasn't my usual relaxed Saturday, and the scales showed it this morning. I'm up 500 gms. My water % is up 2% which shows where the 500 gms is. I spent quite a lot of time in the kitchen cooking, and was rushing to get things done at the end of the day before we went out. Neither helped with fluid levels. We were at the party for 5 1/2 hours, during which I drank a bottle of mineral water, and arrived home late, so a bit less sleep than usual. I was not surprised to see the scales up this morning. Really disappointing not to be able to do the wine tasting, as they were tasting $20-$40 bottles of wine, and some even more aged in people's cellars

Following on from our discussion about men noticing women who are more attractive, I had some definite interest from a couple of the men there, both single, whom I've know for a long time but this is the first time they've seen me since I started. One even proposed to me I was sitting next to my husband at the time Everyone at the party who heard I'd lost 20 kgs was very complimentary; although there weren't many people that I knew. I'm now telling people that I'm halfway, and starting to get the response that I shouldn't be losing that much more My answer is that I have a contract and I have to lose that much to be able to complete the diet.

Thanks, AE. We'll be happy to give our opinions on the new hair colour today, although we didn't see the old colour to compare. No point hurting yourself just because he wants to stay friends. Stay away from him until you're ready to see him again. Looking forward to meeting with you this afternoon.

Thanks, CMM. Yes, I do feel good, although I think I'm now seeing myself as thinner than I actually am. I know I will break this barrier. The problem I have is that, after forty years of dieting, I have these barriers all the way down

I knew it was a long way, shell, I'd thought about four hours, so I wasn't really expecting you to say you'd come. We'll try to arrange something for when you can be down here. Let us know dates.

LouLou, last night when we went out my husband was driving at 80 kph in a 100 kph zone because the rain was so heavy. We can't remember how many years it is since we had to do that. We even drove through a big puddle going round a corner I understand exactly how you feel about being on an eating plan. What I miss most is going out and not being able to join in, particularly last night. However, I have a choice of joining in now, but not really being able to enjoy my life completely, or missing some food and drink for a few months and turning my life around. Put your social life on hold (or at least in low gear) for a few months and turn your life around.

I know you're right, SMS. It's just a question of mind over body -- which can hold out longest. My mind's going to win every time. I hope you're right about losses picking up once I'm though this barrier. The next point I can remember is around 73 kgs, back in 1989. I wonder if my body's memory is any better on any intervening points than my head's

I agree about the effects of different foods being questionable, Maya. Exactly as you say, maybe it's just a plateau and coincidence. I think our bodies will experience the plateaus and the diet will work for us no matter what we do as long as we follow the rules. Yesterday was really cold here, 7C at midday they said, that's unusually cold for us. I took a nice curried beef out for dinner last night, so rain, cold and nice beef stew The cold's okay as long as we can keep warm, and we're loving the rain as we haven't seen much for quite a lot of years now.

Have a lovely day, everyone. I'm looking forward to catching up with some of the local Geelong/Melbourne forum members this afternoon. At least I won't be the odd one out with what I'm drinking in that group

Hi Aj,
Have a great time at your meet up today.

Don't forget to take photo's, I want to see AE's sexy new hair do!!
Glad you are also getting comments from people about your weight loss.
But I warn you now, when you get closer to goal- everybody will be commenting, telling you that you have lost enough as they are all "experts"!!
You will get sick of all the attention (well I did)
Have a great day

AJ, Again, while you tend to seesaw my Sunday wasn't much better but at least mine is still heading the right direction. I was hoping for my "Normal" Sunday but it was not to be either.

Maybe if your Sunday is relaxing and you get a good night's sleep you have that drop on Monday Morning.

I admire you for staying so strong at your function! I've found that that is still a weakness for me, so need to keep working on it!
I hope the meet this afternoon was a good one, and looking forward to seeing the pic!

Day 4, Week 19

Still up 300 gms on Saturday. Yesterday wasn't relaxing enough to clear it out apparently. Probably not enough sleep, as I sat up catching up on two days worth of diaries. It takes ages to catch up on all the diaries if I miss a day.

Lovely day yesterday, with a Geelong and Melbourne group meeting mid way at Werribee. We spent three hours chatting, could have gone on for longer but the cleaners wanted us out. The photo is in the Get Togethers board.

This morning I have a bit to do, but should have a relaxed afternoon, so my body might catch up again.

Have to go now for an appointment. Back later. Have a lovely Monday everyone.

AJ

My NYF Diary
Default Re: Annabelle Joy's diary

Today has been more relaxed, so I'm hoping that the fluid will have cleared by tomorrow.

I took a bag of clothes to the op shop today. Pity to have to give away perfectly good clothes, but I'm never going to wear them again so someone else might as well get some benefit from them. Bought a nice, brand new jumper for $4 while I was there

Shell, you are so right, everyone is an expert on weight. I keep hearing that slow weight loss is the best (when I say mine's a bit slow). I'm telling people I have a contract and have to lose another 20 kgs. I know that I'm going to have a lot of negative comments as I get further along. As we know, the only people who really are experts are those who are doing/have done Cohen's We can certainly organise something while you're in Jan Juc. How long will you be there? If you can spare a Sunday, we can meet at Werribee again. If not, we can organise something in Geelong.

No progress today, SMS Last time I was around this level I started eating again and went up, and my body's wanting the same to happen this time.

Thanks, Thinning. We all look great

We sure are too smart to let our body's beat us, Lily. On Cohen's we just have to be patient and we'll win out. The meet photo is in the Get Togethers thread.

Vee, I've been on so many diets where I used to go off the diet if I went out and the constant deviations eventually got me off all together, that I resolved this time the only way for me was to stick to the diet 100%. Also, I'm terrified that if I deviate to that extent, even if I get back 100% next day I'll still slow down my progress. It's already slow enough and I don't want to delay the finish any more

Thanks, Rose. I think that nearly everyone here has dieted many times. You have to be pretty desperate to decide to do this diet; others are much easier and promise similar results. Of course, once you do commit, this is actually easier than others because it is so clearly defined.

Emphasis on the little body, AE. You're looking great, so's the new hair do. Are you happy with the colour, or still wanting it darker? We didn't get to tell you yesterday what we thought.

No need to lock me up, Tracey. These two aren't likely to tempt me to misbehave I think that many of us develop confidence and a different outlook as we slim and that's why some people react differently to us.

Even doing nothing doesn't seem to work for me, Kate I need a day that's fairly relaxed, but with a bit of activity.

Time to get to some of the other diaries.

AJ

The pics are great from your get together. Every one looks so happy and proud. I think you should write yourself a doctors note to relax and present it to your husband. With your IT skills you should be able to pull that one off.
Good luck for this week
